Hi, this is Abe "Mozza" Atchia, co-author with Bill of his forthcoming book.
First off, my sincere thoughts, prayers and best wishes to everyone at this difficult time. God bless our NHS.
99.9% of the comments here speak for themselves. Thank you. Bill's forthcoming book isn't intended to be the standard "we went here and had a row, then went there and had another one." It is, however, the definitive life-story of British football's most notorious terrace figure. His standing is endorsed by a who's who of top 'faces', from a time when football violence was at it's most savage. Contributions are also included from two former Premier League players, as well as a decorated British serviceman, who cites Bill's words ringing in his ears during a fire-fight in Bosnia. But it's essentially the story of how Bill went from a vulnerable, bullied, working class, east-end kid, to a terrace icon, whose name became known across Britain and beyond, and every shocking twist and turn along the way. Documenting Bill's life opens up a world of painful memories and disturbing violence. Some of the truly shocking moments of that life-story, which could not be included in this superb video (big shout Kev!), are also detailed, as Bill wipes the slate clean for the final time, settling a few old scores along the way with brutal honesty. As he says in an earlier post, we're aiming for the bookshelves and all e-formats by next Summer. Cheers for taking the time to read this post, for your comments and your shares,
All the best and stay safe, Mozza

All respect to Bill, and those who lived the life back in the day. As a Man City fan at the time he's talking about, this was my life too. As a result, I had my eighteenth birthday in Strangeways prison (GBH, ABH, Wounding). Never a villain, it was all about the people, the beer, and the battle. A different time and a different mentality. Unlike Bill, luckily I did find my way in life, funny enough, through more fighting! Anyone interested, have a read of 'Redemption - a street fighters path to peace.' I was never a 'name', but I 'was' there...walking the walk, not just talking the talk.
Looking forward to a great read when I get your book Bill.

To be honest I put off watching this film, I've heard all the stories of Bill and had made my mind up. However I've got to say I was completely wrong. No BS, just a fascinating story from a man you could sit with and chat.
I for one will now be buying his book as I believe it will be a fantastic read.

One excellent interview . I have often said about people who judge others . Try & walk a mile in their shoes . Before casting aspersions . Despite all the hardships Bill has endured . He has always remained humble . I wish Bill & his family all the very best . And it’s great to hear he has love & happiness finally in his life .

    Hi all,
As Bill has already stated, I’m delighted to say his new book will be released next month. It’s been a few years in the making but I’m happy to say we got there!
‘Bill Gardner: The Man, The Myth, The Legend’ is slightly less focused on terrace culture and more on how a 14-year-old Essex kid became the man he did. It was, as the book reveals, a painful, traumatic and at times dangerous journey.
Fighting men twice his age for money in Gypsy organised bareknuckle pit-fights at 15 years of age is probably one of the least shocking chapters of Bill’s life, on the way to becoming, in the eyes of many I’ve spoken to, a part of West Ham United’s fabric and history.
A host of Bill’s friends have generously paid their own tributes and reminisces of Bill. These include, in no particular order: Big Ted, Cass Pennant, Bunter Marks, Danny Brown (Aston Villa), Frank McAvennie, Corporal “Peterborough Tony”, Carlton Leach, Gary “Boatsy” Clark (Nottingham Forest), Stuart Slater, Joey Williams, John Wraith (QPR), Lol, Scobie and Neil.
Desperately trying not to sound sanctimonious, and with the obvious, ultimate input and honesty of Bill taken as read, the book couldn’t and wouldn’t have been written without the help, support and time of all those listed above.
Look out for an exclusive interview with Bill in GHQ Magazine next month, while Kevin Slade of SDCC has a further TH-cam advert in the pipeline.
The book is with the publishers and will be available on Amazon and Kindle Unlimited in both eBook AND traditional book formats on November 18.
Thanks very much for taking the time to read this ridiculously long post, and once again many thanks for your comments, shares, likes and re-tweets - to say we’re grateful don’t cover it so do keep them coming!
All the best, and do all stay safe in these continually difficult times,
    Best wishes,
    Abe “Mozza “ Atchia
Co- Author “Bill Gardner: The Man, The Myth, The Legend”

Interesting listen and a lot of the hardships resonate with me and many friends of mine. Your name and WHU reputation carried all the way up here. Us Jocks more than held our own at football but when the “casual” era began England led the way. I know you said it wasn’t your thing but a couple of WHU lads came to Ibrox 83/4 ish told us about the ICF and that was us. Hooked. Shamelessly copied the name and off we went haha. You seem a proper gentleman (though I doubt that was the view of your opposition haha) Wasn’t easy going to football but I think most of us needed it. Wherever we came from. Respect and take care. Glasgow Rangers

As another human I relate to you I spent thirty years of my life selling badges hats and scarves on green street , next Pete Hilton later Ellis , and next to Gary . You are so right the people are unbelievable and I come from Bradford , I can't visit Upton park as I don't know if I could handle it , knowing all the happy times I had there. You are a special person and I don't want that to sound condescending but I always felt the respect people had for you . Stay lucky and a massive respect from me .

I went to many games in the 70s and saw a lot of stuff but kept away from the trouble. I can remember being in the North Bank and seeing away fans in the South Bank make some noise and up would go the chant “Mile End, Mile End do your job, Mile End do your job” and seeing West Ham take Arsenal’s North Bank and sing “Bubbles” and “ We took the North Bank Highbury again” from their end……amazing times and memories. Respect Bill.

Even though Im a Man United fan, there was something quite sad about the bit he was talking about West Ham leaving Upton Park. Don't think the powers that be understand the connection and emotions fans have to those old grounds, the walk up to the ground, the pubs, the people etc.
