The godfather of football.... his achievements at Aberdeen always gets overlooked, the last time Celtic and Rangers didnt win the league was when he was at Aberdeen.... the last time Real Madrid lost a euopean final, he was at Aberdeen.... and of course his dominance with Man Utd speaks for itself. I fell in love with Aberdeen as a 5 year old when we won our first Premier league title, Willie Miller was my favourite player ...still is. They were fantastic days, still think sir alex achievements at Aberdeen were unmatched by anyone...even better than what he did with utd.., a provisional club, winning two European trophies, who had no training ground, trained on the beach and local parks played like men possesed , smashing the old firm, bayern Munich and Real Madrid. What Fergie achieved at Aberdeen, was nothing short of miraculous. No non Old Firm team has ever got close to that level of success, or ever will. Winning 3 league titles( i'm sure only us, and Hibs have won back to back titles), the only club outwith the Old Firm to win 3 Scottish Cups in a row, defeating the greatest name in German football, and then the greatest name in club football, to win the ECWC, then to defeat the European Cup holders in the Super Cup, is a remarkable record.

I'm a Man United fan, didn't follow football outside Scotland really until Sir Alex went to Man United and I was a fan of Sir Alex and his Aberdeen squad that he took to whole new level. Then he took Man United to a whole new level - and in doing so he helped build the EPL as well - I don't think we'll ever see another manager in the game as good as he was. He's also responsible for, imho, the best quote ever about the game after the UCL win in '99 - "Football! Bloody hell!"

A great interview & it's so rare Sir Alex does them. Sky Sports should reach out to get him in for some games, especially as he's now looking at the game tactically again.
What he did at Man Utd was great, but his work at Aberdeen was amazing. He built a team & mentality, that meant Aberdeen didn't just stop at one title & once he got the right team at Man Utd he kept up the same momentum.

His development and getting the best of his players is unmatched just look at that 2013 team, players beyond their best years (Rio, Vidic, Giggs, Scholes etc) and youth players nowhere near as good as the class of 92 (Cleverly, Welbeck etc) and yet we comfortably won the league. Anyone who knows anything about football knows that Aberdeen were one of the best run most proactive footballs clubs in the U.K. when Fergie joined. A city which mirrored Fergusons grit and work ethic with a big support it was a marriage made in heaven for both parties. Aberdeen were already challenging the status quo but Fergie smashed it to bits. During the early to mid 80’s Aberdeen were the best club side in Europe but there was only one club who could lure the great man and Manchester Utd and Aberdeen will forever be linked by shear greatness. Sir Alexander Ferguson

It was also the first 'stadium' in world football to have a dugout. 'Invented' by the coach/manager at the time, Donald Coleman, in the 1920's.
