    A stainless steel delicatessen. You`d think a villain of Blofelds calibre could at least offer Bond a secret Island in the sun.

    • @OneFromEasternFinland
      @OneFromEasternFinland 10 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Hell yeah! I totally agree! A delicatessen sounds quite a insipid offer, I also thought that a rich super-villain such as Blofeld could do much better than that - unless he has lost his wealth in all those operations Bond has spoiled...

    • @SMAXZO
      @SMAXZO 9 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      +Vorn Field Actually, delicatessen in a stainless steel is Mafia slang for a top of the line cash cow. Basically, he's offering Bond a high quality moneymaker.

    Sadly, what is lost in this scene because of the "I'll buy you a Delicatessen...in stainless steel" is just how good the stunt flying is. Seriously, the pilot really pushes what can be done in a helicopter.

    Yeah that was Blofeld for sure. The Roger Moore era of Bond films were the key to the franchise continuing on. After Sean left, finding his replacement was not going to be easy. Roger brought a new feeling for the character that audiences fell in love with very quickly.

    I wonder if there are, in fact, organizations like Spectre in real life. There have been some academic studies of organized crime but largely, they were confined to the European "mafia" and mid century USA models. Spectre as it's depicted in the Bond films is probably interesting chiefly because it avoids those stereotypes.

    I'm 34 years old. Roger Moore wasn't the Bond of my generation. I'm a Dalton fan. But I'm telling you. They rip Roger for not being serious enough. But in my opinion he is the BEST BOND EVER. He is fun to watch. He enjoyed it as much as we fans did. He was the suavist of all Bonds. I love how he played Bond. Craig is good for this era of movies. Because he is so serious. everyone wants serious. I want fun. And will always love Roger as Bond.

    Uh...no, it doesn't. Aside from the fact that everything about the chronology of both franchises is completely different, Skyfall clearly indicates that Bond's (Craig) parents were differently named, and he is the only Bond is this timeline. After all, Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace were about rebooting and re-establishing his character.
    If anything, the Skyfall revelation makes it more difficult to cast another character in the role in the future.

  • @joh2
    @joh2 14 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Well, Moore's Bond did something that Connery's and Lazenby's portrayals couldn't...
    I get the idea that this scene was in response to Kevin McClory, whom at the time was planning a 'rival' Bond film involving Blofeld ("Never say Never again" - 1983) that he had the rights at the time to make - The approach was to show that the official Bond series didn't need Blofeld or SPECTRE.

  • @DeadhunterThe

    It's not totally their fault actually... "Blofeld" isn't a Ian Fleming 'only' character. He was created in Thunderball (I think) which had a co-writer. Anyway, because of rights issues they stopped using him after Diamonds Are Forever, and he only turned up in For Your Eyes Only (in which the the killed him, and never called him Blofeld) The co-writer did use him in the unoffical Bond film "Never Say Never Again" which is a remake of Thunderball, the only thing the co-writer has the rights for

    @MisterDeeds It had something to do with some movie company bust up and EON lost rights to use the Blofeld character in the official 007 films, so I guess they just wanted to give final closure by killing him off, but they were not allowed to name the character, which is why Blofeld is not listed in the credits. Though its obvious this character is clearly meant to be Blofeld.

As for License, well i guess it's about tim i admit that it is a good action paked movie, and very origianl. nice songs by Gladys Knight and PAtti Labelle. Also it was the first to have a lot of language and is considered more violant and darker than the previous ones. But i still like it. It's Dalton's only other movie. @hugh0221 One of Blofeld's lines from this scene is as follows:
    "I have looked forward to this moment, Mr. Bond. I intend to enjoy it to the full."
    We can infer from this line that Bond has most definitely encountered and fought Blofeld at least a couple of times. It also enforces the idea that Bond's caused a lot of damage to Blofeld's organisation, and so the latter intends to brutally punish Bond as retribution for his actions.

      ***** Really? Well i'll be,never knew about that till now. Thanks for the tip info,it makes more sense now when you think about it concerning the character of Blofeld. Bribes,greed and money were his thing.

    the one thing I wonder is how did he control this remote control? He needed a frequency to do this, and that helicopter was going in that indoor area at the end and his voice did not waver by going in and out, and his contraption with the monitors didn't have an antenna on it. So whatever frequency it would be, who knows. Also, he got that thing really close to him when he was on that roof and it turned around, that takes some expert manuevering to do that with just that little screen there. But this is a movie, so it is all for fun I guess.

    Maybe it was fate or destiny, but the helicopter used for this sequence crashed, near Chichester, West Sussex, killing the pilot, in November 1997.

    That's one reason why I'm not a huge fan of Roger Moore's bond. Another reason is the that stupid slide whistle that happens during the car stunt in Man with the golden gun. It's actually a cool stunt but that stupid sound ruins it every time!

    Robert Rietti: So after I say "We can do a deal," to Bond, what do I tell him I'm buying him?
    Director: Just say the dumbest thing you can think of. But make sure it ends with a rhyme for "deal."

    The Bond series has so many incarnations of Blofeld to the point of ridiculousness. We had faceless Blofeld's, Scar Wearing with a foreign accent, Kojak earlobes missing with an American accent and worst of all Charles Gray with a full head of hair to full female drag. No wonder Mike Myers made a Dr Evil parody of the character ha ha ha

    • @finalbossd
      @finalbossd 9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It was justified in the novels, but basically, Blofeld is constantly trying to protect his identity by having many plastic surgeries to change his face.

    • @GetToDaChoppa-k5r
      @GetToDaChoppa-k5r 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      finalbossd okay, that makes more sense I suppose. Still if you had that many plastic surgeries to look like different people all the time you wouldn't have a face left ha ha

    And more proof they are the same character, his wife is mentioned many times since her death and the pain on Bond's face is evident, no matter who plays him. Anyone who mentions her he quickly cuts off or changes the subject as the pain is still there 30+ years on
