    Simulation at 30,000+ golf courses
    13 metrics - 6 measured metrics - including spin rate and spin axis
    Rapsodo combines - 24 total shots - 2 approach targets - 1 driver target
    Full functionality indoors and outdoors
    Apple and Android compatible
    The MLM2PRO™ aka Rapsodo MLM 2 Pro, is the successor to Rapsodo’s original Mobile Launch Monitor, which was designed using radar technology and machine learning to bring pro-level data to golfers so they can analyze their swing by monitoring metrics like distance, ball speed, smash factor with data visualization, club gapping, shot dispersion, and more. With the original model winning My Golf Spy’s Best Mobile Launch Monitor three years in a row, and being a trusted brand in Golf Digest’s Hot List Testing, the new MLM2PRO™ is now the official personal launch monitor of Golf Digest’s Hot List. It will provide the same industry leading data with additional metrics to further enhance the user’s experience - such as measuring spin and full golf simulation features. The MLM2PRO™ uses dual cameras and is compatible with both iOS and Android devices.
    With the MLM2PRO™, Rapsodo will introduce golf simulation including Rapsodo Range, a virtual driving range, and Rapsodo Courses, which will consist of over 30k courses globally. Rapsodo Range will provide trajectory and shot trace indoors. While Rapsodo Courses gives players the ability to practice on their local course ahead of a big event or play a nationally recognized course on their bucket list. Rapsodo has provided users thousands of course options through their MLM 2 PRO Premium Membership, so users will have an extensive list to select from and play virtually anywhere in the world. Additionally, the MLM2PRO™ is compatible with multiple simulation software providers including E6 Connect and Awesome Golf to give players a variety of options to suit their game. Even more integrations are scheduled to continue to add to MLM2PRO™ users’ subscription options.
    Callaway Golf Partnership
    The new portable launch monitor provides even more advanced data for golfers to analyze. In total, the MLM 2 PRO ™ will report six measured metrics within 13 core metrics including new data points like descent angle, spin rate and spin axis. The Impact Vision camera in the MLM2PRO™ records and processes images of the ball’s rotation to measure the ball's spin rate and spin axis. Adding these key metrics improves the ability to determine overall carry distance and path.
    “The Callaway RPT Chrome Soft X Golf Balls leverage the world class performance of the Chrome Soft X Golf Ball with our Optical Technology, so the MLM 2 PRO can track the launch conditions of the ball,” said Jason Finley, Callaway Golf’s Global Director of Brand and Product Management. “This allows golfers to receive information that will help them to optimize their equipment, practice and gapping. Callaway’s Optical printing technology provides unparalleled printing accuracy, ensuring precise placement of the Rapsodo pattern on each golf ball.”
    Multiple High Speed Cameras
    The MLM 2 PRO ™ has two built-in cameras, offering a major upgrade from the original MLM which required the iOS device camera to track ball flight. The inclusion of the cameras opens up the MLM2PRO™ to both Android and iOS platforms. The two cameras serve different purposes. The wide-angle "Shot Vision" camera is used to record a swing video with shot trace on every shot. The 240-fps high speed shutter "Impact Vision" camera captures a series of photographs that are visualized in the MLM2PRO Mobile App as a short video - allowing players to view their impact on every swing. The Rapsodo Swing Vision feature pairs the MLM2PRO™ with a phone or tablet to have multiple angles of each golf swing, allowing golfers to capture down-the-line and face-on swing replay videos so they can get more out of their practice time.

    I wish rapsodo had spent the time developing 10-20 really nice courses to play with elevation and good graphics instead of just throwing in 30k sub par courses. Especially for having to pay an $199 per year for the premium membership. To play good simulator golf, I’d have to go buy E6 for another $200 per year on top of it so a little disappointing in that area.

    I’m hoping units like this, get the quad, and trackman to come out of the stratosphere in terms of price I know it’s not the same league or same caliber but it’s going to be tough for them to keep justifying $25,000 when you have solid units like this for 700 bucks

    • @GolfSimulatorVideos
      @GolfSimulatorVideos  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You’re really not comparing apples to apples though just some data points. Quad has 4 cameras and powerful infrared which has a large hitting area and full precise club data. Built in screen, precise putting, chipping and much more. It’s just not a device for the average user so I can’t imagine with all of that hardware and features it could come down much.

    • @firacingast
      @firacingast ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GolfSimulatorVideos Hardware is cheap and almost certainly sourced 3rd party. It's the software capable of utilizing it that's the expensive part of those units. Units like this for $700 will absolutely, without any doubt impact their sales. I've worked sales for almost a decade and if I offer a unit with 40% of the functionality for literally 0.028% of the cost, I can tell you with certainly that the vast majority of customers would pick the cheaper option, even including those that can afford the more expensive option.

    Great video! Question re: spin axis and subscription. I have heard / read that the subscription is required for Spin Axis. Will the unit still read spin axis and simulate correctly without the subscription (even if it doesn't tell you what the spin axis is), or does the spin axis measurement "turn off" without the subscription entirely?

    • @GolfSimulatorVideos
      @GolfSimulatorVideos  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It sounds like the spin or spin axis in the app is disabled, you need the subscription. Subscription is also needed for any 3rd party software. The first year is free then $199 year. Wouldn’t make much sense to not have the subscription from what it sounds like.

      @@compeng2013 Gotcha, I would need to go outdoors then. I was told by Rapsodo the radar will read and show flight curvature. They just are not measuring the spin since they cant see the actually ball movement right after impact without dots but can see the flight.

  • @OMG-2
    @OMG-2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I saw a demo of a very short chip (2 yds) elsewhere but the SIM was much better lit down the line than your setup and may have had a dark screen without a projection. Mine arrives this week so fingers crossed. Can't wait to see you work thru the third party stuff especially E6 and if E6 will require a new subscription if you already have one. Here are 4 suggestions for your up and coming MLM2Pro review videos...
    1) I would love to see a comparison of RPT balls, a plain Callaway Chromesoft X, and perhaps some of other patterned balls with like those TaylorMasde team balls to see if it attempts to provide spin numbers. My guess is it will be way wrong but I have to wonder about the selection of Range vs Premium vs RPT balls on session setup screen.
    2) Rapsodo is pushing this as a mobile launch monitor and even though it's not your thing I would also love to see how it performs on the range compared to say GCQuad. Simulation on the range would make for much more fun practice and we could see how the projected ball flight matches up to the actual flight. Then we could also see how well it works with range balls without the dots and more ball flight.
    3) Please show how to combine face on video using your phone with the view from the Rapsodo like was done at the PGA show.
    4) Finally, if you still have the Garmin R10 I would like to see, if possible, using the built-in simulation of the same course played side by side using the same shots on the same course and what the results are.
    One final thought - Having to leave the session to see the impact shot vision is kind of lame, that really needs to be accessible in the session, on the same app screen as the down the line video.

      @GolfSimulatorVideos  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for sharing all of that. I’ll see what I can knock out soon. With the unit having Infared that sure would be shocking lighting is helping much but I guess anything is possible. I prefer it dark near my screen as I am sure most do to get the best projection image.

      @@GolfSimulatorVideos I absolutely agree with you on dark for projection, I wasn’t recommending a change I was just identifying a difference that I remembered. @@qmccahonlax31 I do agree it gives a very good look. Can you tell if 2 degrees open vs square…. Not sure that’s pretty precise but gives a great generally idea for sure and you can see if the ball launches right straight or left easily

    • @qmccahonlax31
      @qmccahonlax31 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@GolfSimulatorVideos do you really know the difference between 2 degrees open or closed? When you are improving, the cameras allow you to see if it’s simply open or closed. Then you adjust based on flight. When you are trying to chase a certain number, it’s often challenging because it could lead to an overload of numbers/data points. Simplifying the process by seeing a camera angle will better fit people in my opinion. When you are worried about path, club face, face to path, etc, you probably get in your own head.

That’s the one drawback on r10 it has not way of taking into account for gear affect since it can’t measure spin axis. I can push a toe ball with driver on r10 and MLM2Pro shoes it correctly as a draw from what I’ve seen so far.

    Hi I have just received the mlm2 pro and it works really well, however there does not appear to be any video support for Simulation.
    Do you know if that is correct . Seeing the shot type is excellent but if its a poor shot I cant assess where it went wrong. I can only get video Play back in Practice mode.
    have you had the same issue.

      I think it can only measure spin using the RPT balls otherwise it calculates it. Maybe someone else can confirm.

    • @GolfSimulatorVideos
      @GolfSimulatorVideos  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Based on what Rapsodo told me they do not provide measured spin on the range, they track the flight using radar so they do show the curve but with radar data. It was tough to depict if they were saying it would still have a spin number or not, if it did I would assume some type of calculation like @robgillanoofficial mentioned since they said they are not measuring it since they can without a RPT ball.
