Mark keeps mentioning 'subscription' with the mevo+, but one of the awesome things about it is that the upgrades for club data, face impact are all one-time-purchace add-ons. There's no subscriptions. it's a great unit
Outstanding video, and love the way he emphasizes that there is not a universally better option for everybody and tries his best to give you the pros and the cons for every device, who is it for... I was actually between Mevo+ and skytrak for my home golf sim, and went for the Mevo+ for the exact same reason Mark seems to preffer the Skytrak unit: It sits behind the ball, not in front of it. And while it's generally true that being in front of the ball is better for accuracy, I'm left handed and my wife (and most friends & family) are right handed, and having it sit behind the golf ball makes it possible to set it once and forget about the unit, not having to move it every time I hit a ball. All in all, a great video!
Great review Mark. The only thing you did not really discuss when reviewing these devices is how much hitting distance you need to the net to read shots with your driver. For a number of these devices you were standing way too close to the net to get a proper read. This then impacts the type of net set up you want as well. As an optical device the skytrak+ would then take the prize.
Thank you for the review. I use the SkyTrack Plus at home with a projector and impact screen (sometimes I just use it with my portable PC without the projector). I used to use a net until I blew a ball right threw it into my wall (lol) which I had to repair and re-paint. I find it really useful and glad that you verify its accuracy. At the golf range I use an old Swing Caddie SC200 - now replaced with the SC4. 0:49 B-T-W, what is that big ball of branches in your neighbor's (neighbour's to you) yard - world's biggest squirrel nest?
Thank you for taking the time to evaluate all of these gadgets. 🙏🏻For me, the value of these types of devices starts and ends with the data quality. Packaging? Come now, Mark.... Awesome review. This sort of confirmed by hesitance to buy a launch monitor. I love the idea, but I can't justify spending thousands, and I'm not too interested in being misled by something in my price range but is inaccurate and wants a subscription on top of it.
I was dead set on the Garmin R10. Until I measured my space……. 15’ x 15’ dang. Then I look at the Sky Track, hey this could work. I am ok with fees if it’s under 25 a month. I want to train with it and also play courses. Indoors with AC would be great too vs the 95+ degree heat. I will measure again to be certain and bring my driver.
Excellent video! I have the original Skytrak but I'm ready to upgrade. Right now they're on sale plus your code works with the sale. That's winning!!!!!
I've owned half of these and concur. I ended up buying and settling on the original skytrak which got much more affordable when the + came out last year. I miss the newer one's club data but ultimately feel it does everything else nearly the same and for under 1000usd on the used/refurbished market. Thanks for the thorough review Mark!
Hi Mark, excellent in-depth video as always. Would appreciate if could add an update on the performances inside. Looking to install a set-up in the garage and would appreciate update on pro’s and con’s and any special requirements (e.g space, lighting etc) Many thanks and keep up the good work.
I purchased the stack system and ended up buying the Garmin G80 which is launch monitor and gps device combined. Set up really easy and multi function on the course.
I have an r10 compared it indoors with trackman and the ball data and carry numbers were unbelievably close! I obviously took trackman as correct but they were that close you could have used the r10 as the benchmark. Just need to finish soundproofing my garage...would love to see r10 versus skytrak plus...maybe made the wrong decision as space saving for the skytrak is ideal...but I also like to take the r10 to the practice area at my course! Maybe we need both!
Sorry that you did not include alignment considerations in your list evaluation parameters. In setting up my garden simulator it's been really difficult to ensure that the direction I hit the ball and the axis that the launch monitor believes is straight down the range or fairway has always presented some difficulties. The top range devices and the radar "down the line" devices appear to be easy to align to produce reliable results. My SkyTrak device fortunately lines up internally with the metal protective case it lives in. A lip on the metal protective case can hold an alignment stick. If I setup parallel to this alignment stick then I know I'm hitting straight down the range or fairway. However, many SkyTrak devices need a considerable amount of short chipping shots at a particular vertical line to gradually get the SkyTrak device aligned. If you're in the garden and so don't have a screen with the image of the target behind the net, then alignment can be a major issue for golf simulators.
Hi Mark, fantastic video, so clear and insightful, a real good watch. Apologies if you have a video out there or have spoken about it before but would you be able to detail the costs of the various packages associated with the flight scope + please? Be interesting to know before committing to a purchase. Thanks again, awesome video.
I have done some intensive testing with the FS Mevo. The look and feel is great. Easy to use. Big downside was the accuracy. Swing speed (vs Trackman and actual laser measurements on the course) was off by more than 10% every time, in some cases up to 20%. Therefore the length was way off. Therefor I went back to Flightscope.
Appreciate the effort to put this together...I'm just going to sit by and wait a little bit longer for the tech to get better and the prices to fall a little further.. and I have zero interest in subscriptions.
R10 is good. It didn’t really score much above it. I would say if you want fun go r10 if you want more serious numbers go Mevo. But both are very good for the price.
Skytrack is unfortunately the only one that I'm likely to be able to fit in the small available space I have - I better start saving! Great review vid - thanks!
Got the Mevo+ Pro with Face Impact, does everything and doesn't have a subscription - also many free updates such as the environmental optimiser. The only reason I'd go for Skytrak is space.
Brilliant Mark, I actually own the R10 but need a decent hitting mat so this review is perfect. How did you find aligned the R10 with the ball, including elevation issues??
Hi Mark. Great review as always. For the swing speed training & club distances recording, interested to get your thoughts/recomendations/ on: 'TheStack Radar' V the 'PRGR(hs130a)' for accuracy, features? Have you done a review?
The skytrak + and mlm2 pro have ridiculous subscription fees to use the device. If they would just have a life time fee or unlock the unit would be hands down the best units available. I think we need another year before we really see what we want at an affordable level.
Rapsodo MLM2PRO is the best under $1,000… easily. Wonder how it would’ve stacked up if it had more club metrics beyond club speed like club path and angle of attack. What would be the score?
I have space in my shed and a projector. so for my money I have started on the r10 (no subscription no ongoing costs) with GSpro subscription. I love playing sim golf games with my mates and general fun games with the kids. I really want the mevo+ but that’s extra $$’s so not for a while yet. BEWARE of the launch monitors with subscriptions to unlock their features this stuff adds up over time ….
@@Es2u it’s great. I’m not super consistent but my low handicap friends that are have come over and hit on it a bunch of times and said the distances are bang on
I have used Mevo+ quite a few times and I found the data indoor really poor above 150 yards. I think for indoor I would choose a skytrak system unless using it at a range. I actually found my small mevo was way better than the plus. I even tried the RCT balls but yardages are all over the place. For example on GCquad I carry my 7 iron about 180. Mevo plus says 210 Driver I carry on quad around 290 yards Mevo plus I can’t get it past 240 yards. I did find all the club data pretty accurate but yardages were awful
If it's not in your set up I would get inContact with flight scope to solve the problem. I've had one for 2yrs now, play off 5hcp (so I know my shots) and I can't fault it, very accurate
how does the Skytrack + compare to the GCQuad? It seems to me that the GCQuad has been around quite a while and wonder if the newer technology like the Skytrack has caught up at a lower price point
Quad is a very different machine. It’s going to deliver everything you need to really coach and understand delivery. For most home uses I would say it’s overkill. Skytrak plus delivers a great amount of data to be able to improve and train.
Hi Mark, how are things ? I'm looking to buy one of these monitors and either use a bedroom in the house that isn't being used or outside. What are the dimensions you reckon for using the monitors ?
FYI Skytrak plus on sale right now $2495. I have the plus love it and the new course play is looking good just needs more features and tune the graphics a bit.
Thanks Mark! Favor please I know you posted the dimensions of your garden but a few measurements are difficult to distinguish. How many meters did you place the launch monitors behind the ball and how far is the net in front of the ball? I would have thought you would need a larger space. Thank you
Mark , you said the last two monitors are the best , now the last one you mentioned you said it doesn’t do swing speed training ? In what sense do you mean ? Is the last ones soft ware and graphics that much better then the second to last one that you would sacrifice the swing speed training ?
Im curious if the sc4 is worth the extra few bucks over the sc300. Any feedback would be great. The price is reasonable and the info is available without having to use a phone or computer.
HI Mark great review thanks , Im looking at purchasing a home simulator at the moment, thinking Mevo plus limited edition complete data, i do like the sky track the software looks great . but i do like all the data points the Mevo gives you with face contact and can use it at the range, and if im correct the sky track has on going subscriptions per year? not sure with one way to go either wood be fine ?
Is there a good budget friendly option for indoor sim-gaming/swing training with foam balls / almost golfballs? It doesn’t have to be super accurate nor does it need to provide the most data points. I’m not looking for super realistic graphics. I’m mostly interested in fun mini games/par-3 courses etc
The one thing for a trainer that makes it good is accuracy ofc, but sidespin is crucial, the mlm2pro xhyrfyuo has it but only on subscription and its 200 Euro a year, the R10 doesn't, couldn't find it on the mevo+? Does it have it? Cuzz the limit for me is 2K isch.
Mark, thanks for the great content. I have a rather big question for you. I've had the pleasure to recently test the Mevo+ Pro Package and Full Swing Kit. Took them to a Trackman 4 indoors and both did well, but the FSK was a clear winner. I want to do both range and winter/garage sim, too. But I found the Mevo+ to not be great at the sim (as a newbie using e6). And the FSK has the issue that it doesn't even measure swing speeds less than 40 mph. Can you even chip and putt in a sim with it? I'll report back if I'm successful tomorrow. If I thought that the FSK was going to come out with a fit into their own sim products, I'd just go that direction. I'd also be more into the FSK if the putting/chipping issue is overcome (or my mistake). It's just a really easy to set up and accurate monitor. But after watching a few other videos, I'm tempted to do this. Get an SC4 for on course and range work and then use a SkyTrak + for the indoor sim and winter package. Thoughts on this? Maybe even replace the SC4 with that Stack System Radar? Thanks for any wisdom you can share.
Hi Mark, as always great content. Did you have any issues with wedges with the Mevo plus with your net so close to the mat? I read that mevo plus needs 7-8 of ball flight for wedges which means balls could potentially fly over the net. Thank you!
Requiring a subscription should be illegal. There is no need for a subscription for the device to work. For courses and training aids, sure, require a subscription. I just want a device that can read ball and club data. I will be using GSPro so do not need any software that would require a subscription to keep up to date.
Do you have experience with the Uneekor Eye Mini Lite and Bushnell Launch Pro? With both of those sub-$3,000 I'd be curious to see how they stack up. Thanks!
I've been looking at all of this lately, and it turns out the Bushnell is a GC3 with features that are locked. So, it's very accurate. However, it has a hefty $400-500 yearly subscription to have the ability to use sim software. If you want the club data, it's a fee of $1500 (or more). I want the club data, so that means we're talking over 3k for the BLP + a minimum of $400 per year. The Eye Mini Lite looks great, but it cannot be used out doors, as it requires an electrical connection (no battery). To me, that kills it as an option but it's otherwise a really sweet unit.
Mark, I have a Garmin R10 and it constantly misses shots due to my waggle causing "interference". Do you know if the Skytrak or the Flightscope have difficulty with people's waggles?
No Bushnell Launch Pro? It can be gotten for under $3k pretty easily now. One big issue I have with Skytrack - no Angle of Attack measurement. As someone who's working on that and other club-related things, not getting that measurement is shocking and a shame since it just removes this device from my list. I went R10 just for the club data and price.
Shame there was not a comparison of data against a GC Quad. I've used PRGR, Swing Speed Radar, Swing Caddie SC 200 and Rapsodo Mlm. In my opinion, Swing Speed Radar is only good for speed training, not hitting balls, PRGR is fairly accurate for ball speed, Tested against trackman range, the same applies for swing caddie sc200 regarding ball speed. Rapsodo is step up from these units and provided good ball data, not to sure if i would trust club speed with this unit.
Anyone help with how easy it is to store the mat(s) and net i.e. Can you easily put them up and take them down to put away? I know range mats for example are heavy and cumbersome, and are they both pretty much weatherproof? And can you upgrade the Mevo+ at a later date? i.e. is it a software/firmware upgrade Thanks in advance 😊
I have the Mevo Plus and I'm shocked to hear you say the Mevo was easy to set up. The Mevo Plus was not! TH-cam wasn't helpful and there were zero instructions included. I almost sent it back I was so pissed. Once it's set up, there are some connections issues-you basically have to turn your laptop wifi and the unit on at the same time. Once it's going I think it is super accurate and the only shots it sometimes has issues picking up are short or soft chip shots.
I own the MLM2PRO. It’s great when it works but that’s probably 25% of the time. It’s pretty frustrating. Getting it connected (and staying connected) can be a battle
Good stuff MC, its great to see more and more consumer level devices that have pro level features. Of course 22:30 is the highlight of the video :D

For me.
Skytrak plus is so good. Defo stack for the course. Those two are a great option.
@@MarkCrossfield Thanks!
Did you review stack vs super speed?
Hi Mark, as always great content. Did you have any issues with wedges with the Mevo plus with your net so close to the mat? I read that mevo plus needs 7-8 of ball flight for wedges which means balls could potentially fly over the net. Thank you!
Can you do the square golf monitor please
Requiring a subscription should be illegal. There is no need for a subscription for the device to work. For courses and training aids, sure, require a subscription. I just want a device that can read ball and club data. I will be using GSPro so do not need any software that would require a subscription to keep up to date.
do you use e6 with your iphone? or a laptop? would it be worth for iphone?
Does your net and cage hold up through weather? My cage frame rusted and net got worn from the sun within 1 year
That's what I wanted to know. I take my net down all the time and wanted to just leave it up. I was curious how long the poles and net would last?
How long before we get the "no ball required" option? In theory all of the required technology already exists.
Mark, I have a Garmin R10 and it constantly misses shots due to my waggle causing "interference". Do you know if the Skytrak or the Flightscope have difficulty with people's waggles?
Could you do a man cave set up where as you play courses on a big screen?
Did you have any issues with such a short ball flight? Also did you have to sticker the golf balls for them to be picked up?
Stickers or dotted balls on
Mevo plus

Rapsodo
Did I miss the accuracy score for the mlm pro 2 or was it missed out?
What about the PRGR launch monitor?
Is the Stack unit the same as a PRGR?
No Bushnell Launch Pro? It can be gotten for under $3k pretty easily now. One big issue I have with Skytrack - no Angle of Attack measurement. As someone who's working on that and other club-related things, not getting that measurement is shocking and a shame since it just removes this device from my list. I went R10 just for the club data and price.
So does the R10 only work with Iphones or PC? Not Android?
Shame there was not a comparison of data against a GC Quad. I've used PRGR, Swing Speed Radar, Swing Caddie SC 200 and Rapsodo Mlm. In my opinion, Swing Speed Radar is only good for speed training, not hitting balls, PRGR is fairly accurate for ball speed, Tested against trackman range, the same applies for swing caddie sc200 regarding ball speed. Rapsodo is step up from these units and provided good ball data, not to sure if i would trust club speed with this unit.
All systems were tested against quad for accuracy. That’s where the accuracy ratings came from.
Skytrack Plus is too close in price to Bushnell Launch Pro. I would just save up a bit more and get the BLP instead.
Why didnt you include the Uneekor Eye Mini Lite? It comes in at $2750
I have a Skytrak+ and my main complaint is it doesn't show angle of attack.
Accuracy - In years past, these things always struggled with short shots. 20-70 yards. How's the accuracy on the short shots these days?
Anyone help with how easy it is to store the mat(s) and net i.e. Can you easily put them up and take them down to put away? I know range mats for example are heavy and cumbersome, and are they both pretty much weatherproof? And can you upgrade the Mevo+ at a later date? i.e. is it a software/firmware upgrade Thanks in advance 😊
For mevo+ you can purchase the other software later on
I’m surprised that the flight scope works with such a limited ball flight.
I find is misleading showing the impact on the FS but not adding the cost to the sum and only mentioning it...
I think I’d pick the dachshund version although probably wouldn’t take to the course 😂
It’s called the dachshund pro plus😂
I hear the subscription fees can be quite expensive
I have the Mevo Plus and I'm shocked to hear you say the Mevo was easy to set up. The Mevo Plus was not! TH-cam wasn't helpful and there were zero instructions included. I almost sent it back I was so pissed. Once it's set up, there are some connections issues-you basically have to turn your laptop wifi and the unit on at the same time. Once it's going I think it is super accurate and the only shots it sometimes has issues picking up are short or soft chip shots.
Mevo is Mevo plus is a fiddle
I own the MLM2PRO. It’s great when it works but that’s probably 25% of the time. It’s pretty frustrating. Getting it connected (and staying connected) can be a battle
Try the direct connection. There may be an issue with the local wifi signal strength.
I always find it funny how ridiculous overpriced these hitting nets are in comparison on how easy they are to diy
