Thank you for a clear informative and practical video. I have owned my 407 hdi for 8 years and absolutely love it. I have decided to start doing the oil changes etc myself and bought a Haynes manual, the online video was not very helpful and not done on a 407. On top of that it didn't even tell me the tools I needed, jus said look at the car manual, so I just paid to be tole what I can see for myself and nothing about what I needed to know. So thank you very much indeed, because there is nothing more frustrating than being half way through a job and having to stop and go down the shops for a part or or tool I don't have. I'm so glad I found your channel, all the very best to you. Vinnie Heffernan Perth West Australia.🙃🙃🙃
18:55 just a quick tip. If you rotate the bottle with oil 90 degrees to the side, it wont pour so unstably, since theres a constant air volume geting into the bottle.
Absolute amazing video! Am currently considering purchasing a peugeot 407, and this game an amazing overview of the engine compartment! I'd say it looks relatively (relative to other peugeot engines haha) accessible to work with!
subbed my friend great channel love my french cars!! Always had pugs and citreons lol....Currently own the mk1 307 hdi 136 same engine as this one in you're video. Helped me with a full service few days ago so thank you for that!
Thank you, glad to hear you like the channel deffinatelly stick around as there will be new videos coming out and you might find it use full or interasting
Thank you very much for your video`s,i have been successful in doing a few jobs with your knowledge of mechanics which has saved me some money. It`s also very satisfying doing your own jobs.
Stai bene👍🍻🍻
Thank you very much for sharing this wonderful video. Congratulations. I have seen that when you change the air filter you disconnect the battery. Won't this cause the car's configuration to be lost in the control unit or something? Thank you.
Thank you no it doesnt cause any configurationto be lost actually its quite opposite if you dont disconnect a battery and you disconnect maf sensor then you will get fault comming up for a while.
Hello there! I love your content! Please don't stop recording. In case you are reading this. I've got a question if you know the answer. Do the 2.0HDI RHR engines have a coolant bleeder valve on the thermostat housing? If yes, where is it? I hope you see the question. I would help me a lot. In any case, I like your content and see you in the next video!
Hello mate thankyou for your comment yes they do have a little nipple kind of bleeder on a thermostat housing where you can release a air from the system or bleed a coolant.
If you follow top coolant hose from top of the radiator to thermostat you will see it above it its like a little black cover which you take of then you inflate a tyres. It gets undone anticlock wise but be careful as you can easily loose it make sure you holding it firmly then undoing it.
@@Mad4FrenchCars Thank you very much for replying! I will get it checked tomorrow. I haven't noticed one on the thermostat housing. It is a 2005 307 2.0HDI 136hp. I think there were some changes in the thermostat housing design in late 2005 or early 2006. I will get it checked tomorrow because I need to change the coolant. I'd like go get it all out through the bleeder valve while simultaniously topping up the fluid.
@@NaturalSisa I don't know if you can get it all out through the bleeder as it sits quite high in a cooling system. If I where you i would first find a bleeder/air release nipple then undo button coolant hose from radiator( as its the lowest coolant system point) to release all coolant and then fill it up but use that bleeder to get rid of air from the system only.
@@Mad4FrenchCars Well, if you start thr engine, the water pump will push the coolant put for you through the bleeder valve. As long as you add enough coolant in (while you bleed some of it out), it should be fine.
Hello! Can you please do a video on how to remove the rear bumper of the normal 407? (not SW, maybe the process is the same anyway?), Someone hit my 407 on the back and now theres a little space line between the lights and the bumper itself on the rear... I wanna take it off to see if I can fix it. You're doing really a great job. There's not even 1 video for 407 rear bumper removal on youtube.
I don't have a sedan 407 to do a video on for a rear bumper removal. I will see if I can do a little video on how to remove sw rear bumper after all it should be very similar. I will try to film tommorow and release it over weekend.
Hello mate I have filmed a video on how to remove a rear bumper from 407 sw I think it's very similar procedure for a sedan and coupe aswell. So hope you will find a video use full it will come out Wednesday morning as I am extremely busy so I am gonna edit a material tommorow and post a video Wednesday 7 Am. Sorry I couldnt do it over a weekend I had no time spare at all to do it.
Thanks for the video... I have a 407 SW premium HD 2010 and cannot find how many liters of oil i need to put in. Could you guys help me out here, please? It is the first time im doing this. Also, I think when I change the oil filter, I left the old O-ring on and I put the new one, so I have 2 o-rings on the cap of the oil filter. Should I go ahead and remove the old one or it would be ok to have them both there?
Hi mate first things first is what engine side do you have 1.6hdi,2.0,2.2? And about a o rings i think its not a big problem if you left a old one there. If you managed to do a filter cover up well then just look out for a oil leaks after a while comming from oil filter cover. If there is no oil leaks then just leave it next time take both off and install just new one.
Please i will like to ask a question. Is it possible to change the oil without changing the filter. And if you don’t change the filter can it make the car not to start?
It's always good to change oil and filter. Filter is there to collect all the lumps, and rubbish basicly from oil so you can change just oil but your filter will contaminate a new oil with rubbish stuff then new oil go through it. Best to change both I have never changed just one
Could be as I have seen these engines used till 2014 or so. There is a variaty of 2.0hdi engines 136bhp, 140bhp and 163bhp engines after 2010. I thought 4007 comes with 2.2hdi engine but maybe it was 2.0hdi aswell not sure. Like mentioned above it could be 3 different variety of engines if its 2.0hdi.
Comme je l'ai dit y'a plusieurs erreurs qu'il a fait il lubrifie pas le joint du filtre à huile pendant qu'il faut le faire et lorsqu'il rempli l'huile la voiture était sur les chandelles
Hello Mate, I am a subscriber and keen follower of your channel and love it. I have had 3 Peugeot 2.0hdi 407 SW,s I currently own one at the moment. Anyway, I tried to email you directly, but for some reason it didn't seem to work, so I am trying to contact you through this method. I wondered if you could help me at all. My car recently failed the MOT on Emissions, I put some fuel system cleaner in the tank, and cleaned the EGR, took it back, and it failed again. So, I had it Terra cleaned with a carbon clean, other day, I took it back to MOT for another retest, it has improved but still failed. The MOT station reckon it is because of my Air Filter that is causing it to fail. I have a KN Cone Air filter fitted. The car runs great, but they reckon it's getting too much Air. They said if I put the standard Air filter box and standard Air Filter in then it will pass. Problem is I threw the old Air Box etc away. So, what I'm asking is if you know where I can get hold of a standard Air Box and Pipe etc for my car. I have tried local scrap yards but no luck. Really stuck here so if you could possibly help or know anyone that it would be appreciated. Thanks, and love the channel.
Hi mate I agree with your garage. If you ever put K&N filter you should put a square one in a air box. Cone does suck too much air. My best guess would be ebay for a air filter housing mate or keep on looking on who is breaking one.
@@Mad4FrenchCars Hi mate thanks for reply, yes, problem was I threw the original filter and box, pipes etc away. Anyway, I managed to buy another one on ebay for 30 pounds fitted it and the car passed the mot. I refitted the Kand N after it passed as the car runs much better with it. I have kept the original old filter to put back on again for next year's MOT. Anyway, thanks for reply and keep up the good work on the channel, love it.
yeh mate, i see ya problem, you and your 407 newly up-sported deep throat fuel intake have fallen foul of the latest tight anti cow fart, world gas emmision laws..
