  • Hello everyone today I have made new video for you on how I have serviced my 2010 Peugeot 407 1.6 HDI SW. I have done it in my back yard with very few basic tools so if I can do it so can you. It does not take long and its really easy, once you done it ones you will do it yourself all the time and save yourself a ton of money in a long run by doing it yourself as the filters and oil is fairly cheap. Please not that my car do not have plastic engine cover so if you have one then you have to remove it first by pulling it up with your hands holding on a sides of it, and once you done all the work you have to place it back on. Also big thankyou for all the viewers and new subscribers you are really encouraging me to make tons more videos. If you have not subscribed yet please Subscribe as it means a lot to me. This video should be use full for any car with 1.6 HDI engine and I hope some of you will find it use full.

      True, Good to know there's someone taking care of our 407's on how to do things with it. Not a lot of different car models gets such dedication. And I just wanted to say, the 407 altho is kinda old now, still looks and feels a great car. I like it.

    Hi, Great video and thanks for uploading it. I have a problem with my 407 1.6hdi stopping after running for a second (fault code is P0192 - low fuel pressure.) so I am changing the fuel filter to see if that cures the problem. Your video makes the job easier.

    • @Mad4FrenchCars
      @Mad4FrenchCars  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi mate to release a transmission oil you need to undo a bolt under a gearbox it's 8mm squere key for that bolt. And then to refill you refill through the breather on top of gearbox. Should be 1.9l gearbox oil capacity

      @@NikolasTravel no problem. Also you will need a small tunnel to refill as a hole is not too big on top its the one with a black plastic and sometimes white plastic insert in it.

    Having issues with my 407sw (automatic) lurching and revving slightly at low speeds. Do you know what this could be? I'll try servicing like this vid describes.

    • @Mad4FrenchCars
      @Mad4FrenchCars  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello i have never owned a 407 with auto box but i know that sometimes in a prefacelift models from 2004-2008 the automatic gearbox is problematic as the gearbox ecu seem to fail quite a bit. The facelift models 2008-2011 seem to solve that problem they also use another box wich is different manufacture gearbox. I believe if the automatic gearbox starts to missbehave its usually a faulty gearbox ecu but its hard to tell unless you scan it with DIAGBOX software.

    Thanks. I've seen a video in which you change the air filter from under the dashboard inside the car? Is it because it's on petrol engine while yours is the HDI version? Got any clue? Thanks in advance.

    • @Mad4FrenchCars
      @Mad4FrenchCars  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think you are talking about the pollen filter i still have to make that video i havent made one yet it must of been someone else. Petrol or diesel air filter will always be in the engine bay but you are right there is a filter and its called a cabin filter or a pollen filter and its not for the engine but for a fresh air inside the car and its located under the dash insite your heater unit. This video shows you how to change air filter( for the engine air intake) on 1.6hdi. Petrol engine would have air filter in a similar place. Thankyou for comment please let me know if you would like me to explain more

    My freaking blower does not work, just the top one nearest the window no else. Got any solution?

    • @Mad4FrenchCars
      @Mad4FrenchCars  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Your car most likely have developed a very common issue in all 407s its called heater flaps, they break inside a heated unit behind a dashboard and the solution is to take them ojt and replace them or fix them. They control where your air from heater is going and once is broken its not going to be able to control it. If you join facebook group called Peugeot 407 UK There is plenty of guys who have fixed this issue and can give you much better advice then me as i know about the issue and solution but they know exact procedure to fix it.

    • @dpayne8611

    • @Mad4FrenchCars
      @Mad4FrenchCars  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@dpayne8611 that would be issue with a heater controls potentially, but i cant tell 100% normally heater controls are quite solid. It could be one of the motors wich turns flaps stuck or something sorry cant really tell without seeing it myself. Heater unit behind a dash has atleast 4 small motors, potentially more i cant remember now. It could potentially be one stuck in a place where it mix the air hot with cold. Its all pure guesses. Sorry i cant really tell mate. Sometimes if your coolant low it can make heater only able to heat like half power. But its all confusing as they do have a build in heater matrix aswell.

    • @Mad4FrenchCars

      Nothibg to worry about. 1.6hdi needs oil change every 8k miles. Even if you use a engine flush to remove a old oil and clean inside the engine. Your oil will still get black after few hundred miles. I personally thing its normal as on all my 1.6hdi cars it was getting black very quick
