  • I have had a fair few requests for these, so here we are.NEM - Lima bogie converters, I think this will convert MK1's as seen in the video, and also Mk2's and Mk3's.For those who are more techncally minded, B1, B4 and BT10 bogies.
    Tools required:
    Files
    Disc cutter / Saw
Fiberglass pen/wet an dry sand paper.
Glue - Super glue / Epoxy / Araldite
It is important that you measure and make sure your converter pocket is in the right position, so please check as you go.I recommend removing 2-3mm from the coupling to be able to fit a Kadee 18/19, also keep in mind your layout and radius of curves. These I hope will be available in mid to late March. They are currently undergoing testing.
Many thanks to John from eBay for the use of his carriage for these converters.
As mentioned Converters will be available Mid-Late March,

Ha, no sooner do I ask about Lima coach converters, and this pops up before my very eyes. That's exactly what I'm looking for. I shall definitely be buying some of those, so I'm eagerly awaiting their release date.

Yes we had a lot of interest and requests, so lucky someone sent one in to be measured and a converter to be designed and made, they have been in the pipe line, 6/7 requests this week just awaiting feedback.

No problem, I understand why they have done it but sadly causes issues if they don't stick to the OO gauge association measurement guidelines.

Loved your presentation. I have what I call my historical collection of eight Lima locos, which have been a presentation case for over thirty years. They have been serviced and to my surprise, run beautifully. Have you done a tutorial video on loco conversion?

      Hello,
Unfortunately locomotives are tricky, as the pocket requires space... Unfortunately space isn't all that great on locomotives, I have done a couple for Hornby/Dapol ones but not Lima, as every pocket is designed to fit that model, from wagon, locomotive or carriage.
I also base releases on demand as people now have less money available I don't have cash to invest back in to it to develop new items.
If there was demand then everything will be looked in to.

Hi, I have 4 Harry Potter Hornby Mk1 Couches with the large D couplings, will these convert the D coupling?

Hello, problem is I can't see it, I have googled it and had a look but, yours seem to be different they step down wards rather than up... We do do something for those please watch the video and check the bogie to see if it's similar there are 3/4 different types... Need to be careful.

Many thanks for the information. I have had a look, they look very similar to mine, so will buy a set of them, and for my Coronation Scot coaches. Do you supply the couplings to fit in them, if not can you advise on the couplings to buy?

      @bluebellModelrailway  2 ปีที่แล้ว

No problem, no we don't do couplings they are available from various model shops and as couplings are a personal thing what people like to use... From tension lock to kadees ect...

Many thanks, I use tension lock, is it the split variety I used with your pockets? I am new to the World of model railways, still getting my head around the terminology..>Simon

Of course, so Hornby R8219 which is the newer type think it's a pack of 10...anything with a V clip should be fine.

We certainly do for the carriages mk3s yes, for the locomotive bogies I'm not so sure I would need some photos to check.

We have had reports they they don't fit due to their design, believe what they may have done is made the couplet bigger, as most rtr NEM are sloppy as the tooling is getting old.
As these are printed they are the right size every time.
We have enlarged the hole/opening to help about a year ago.
But still question marks if they will or won't.
