    I'm confused.
Everyone used to just glue an n.e.m pocket under the buffer beam on a mount years ago.
Are you saying I cant make my own at home now and have to buy yours?

You miss understand these are converters for older models.. These are designed to use an original mounting point as some older stock has big D clip in riveted, clipped or screwes in...
All pockets need to be at a correct height, these converters are designed to fit old stock but be at the right height. Patent works to protect how the design is and works and its method.
You can if you want just put a NEM pocket and glue it on... It may not be at the correct height but yes you have one.
What is protected is the design and how it fits to a model.

      @@bluebellModelrailway ah, right.
Though you had somehow got the sole rights to produce n.e.m.pockets.
I used to buy mine from (I think it was) Bachmann years ago and got a bit confused.

@@JAMESDEMU-RailwayModeller haha no it's not that serious... We have had a company try and copy (badly) what we are doing so it's to protect our main sellers, an NEM pocket I can't copyright or patent that as that is a OO association part.. And is the standard.
However a bespoke part for older wagons like Mainline, Dapol, Triang ect... A converter at the right height and including a pocket and how it fits or mounted then yes that's protected so people can't copy that design.
