  • A customer requested If I could do something for Hornby Bogie stock on his LMS Coronation stock.
    These are similar to the Lima ones and require a similar fitting and cutting.
    These are instructions on how to fit them to the bogies.
    You can find all our items on our website.

    Enjoyed your tutorial. As a user Hunt magnetic couplings I have cut away the 'D' and replaced with their screw unit, but using glue instead of the screw. I only use the aforesaid on my brake van collection.

      Yes I had a look at those magnet couplings, I wasn't impressed with what I saw. There are better ones on the market. Plus fitting an NEM will give a wagon or carriage greater flexibility on what can be used.

    Fantastic mate. Keep going. Bachmann MK1 cranked coupling needs sorting too.

      Mk1 and stand 4mt tanks are on the list. As I have released 4 new items this month I expect those will be sometime in July.
      Some bigger items are due out soon.

    Hi, that was a great tutorial on upgrading the large 'D' type coupling, will there be any Hornby mk2 HST nem pocket conversion kits, the one where the extra long arm goes under the 2 air tanks?
    Thanks for sharing.

      Hello, we have just released our HST range which was the original Hornby ones tooled from 1977-2006 ish the ones you describe is the Lima tooling, unfortunately I don't have anything for those at this time... And unfortunately as sales are extremely low at the moment we don't have any additional cash to develop or buy a Lima set to measure check and test.
      It is on our list... However as you mentioned the airtanks are a bit of an issue as they are in the way.

    welp, you'll deffo be getting an order of these from myself, ironically i was going to post in your facebook group asking about these :P
    but yeah, recently got 4 more maroon LMS coaches to go with my existing 3 today so got plenty to do :P i'll probably do a stream or video when i get them and do a mass fitting :P
    unsure how long they've been tooled for, i know the ones i got today were half england and half china, will have a look through the collectors guide site in a bit and edit this if i find out anything

      Hey, certainly look forward to your order, stock will be put up Friday I think, they are printed already just catching up on descriptions and videos on installation.
      Not sure how old they are but possibly 90s there is a website where you can find out the dates of stock, when they were released ect..

      @@bluebellModelrailway i know i'm 4 months late, only just looked up the coaches :P
      turns out, R.434 and R.433 were first seen in 1977, which is bloody weird considering how modern they still feel (other than the couplings :P )

      There not bad just lacking modern standards and some detail... Certainly worth time over a weekend to do some work on them.

    I have a Hornby "Kidwelly Castle" locomotive with a drop-link coupling. This coupling has sagged and no longer pulls coaches. Sometimes it comes off altogether. I would like to replace it with a Kadee coupling and would like to attach one of your NEM converters to the locomotive to be able to do this. Could you advise me which would be the best one of your converters for this job?

    • @bluebellModelrailway
      @bluebellModelrailway  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello, I don't really have much for locomotives at the moment as mounting points are difficult and also depends which version as there are 3 or 4 of those released at different times. Visit the website or Facebook and send me some photos and I'll havee a look but can't guarantee anything as I mainly do rolling stock.

    Did you add small rivets to the upper side of the nem pocket? What a nice touch. 👍

    • @bluebellModelrailway
      @bluebellModelrailway  ปีที่แล้ว

      They unfortunately aren't rivets they are what is left over from the support structure to enable them to be printed. Cheers.
