Very good, I'm impressed with this simple conversion. Personally, I pack out the chassis rails with styrene and fix a Kadee #5 or #26 coupler.
I see you are using the insulated height gauge and not the metal one. No droop in the metal gauge !
    Cheers, Gary.

The other Kadees the American ones as there known aren't designed for UK rolling stock and found I needed to make more significant changes.. The EU ones are designed for NEM pockets so makes more sense to do it this way.

@@bluebellModelrailway What do you mean that the so called American Kadees were not designed for American rolling stock ? They have been using the #5 since the mid to late 1950s ! Likewise in Australia we have been using them too. I for one have been using them since the mid 80s.
Unfortunately the UK modellers and manufacturers are slow on the uptake of Kadee couplers, preferring to stick with unsightly tension locks. It has only been within the last 10 years (thereabouts) that British stock has been using the NEM coupler boxes, which allows the modeller to choose his/her preferred coupler. It is a real pity that the different manufacturers can not bang their collective heads together and sort this out, as there is no specification for correct height of these, unlike the NMRA standards for coupler height right across all manufacturers in the USA (and Australia). Take a look at the lame Dapol NEM boxes, they droop like a wet fish...
I do applaud you for your efforts here. This is a great addition to keep your rolling stock coupling standardised.
I just hope your NEM conversion fits all manufacturer wagons. as I imagine floor heights would be different between each manufacturers of older OO models, ie PIKO, Lima, Hornby, Bachmann, Dapol, Triang, Peco, Ratio, Slaters etc...
      Cheers, Gary.

It varies from wagon to wagon heights ect, so each will need a different solution.
I meant UK rather than American stock.
It's only recently that there is a standard oo gauge association standard for couplings and heights,
Unfortunately quite a few are suffering with sagging tension locks due to pockets being oversized and trying to cater for variations on the thickness of plastic on the coupling can vary up to 0.2mm

I would myself put three link couplings on more realistic I think bill

Each to their own. It's personal preference but these are designed for people who just want an easier solution rather than fiddling with 3 link chain.

Just curious as to why you do not fit a kadee no 5 or 148 coupling and prefer to stick with the NEM pocket fittings?

With an NEM pocket the item is more sellable when it comes to moving it on. As NEM is the standard in the UK and not everyone runs Kadees so the public are open to use whatever coupling they would like.
