It's not even a good plan either. Peter complained it looked like a file cabinet in a garden. But if you try to make it blend in and become unnoticeable there is a good chance a delivery driver simply won't use it.

It was a bad pitch by all equally. Its interesting how the inventor Brian says it was the others who were the shambles but it was equally him. The extent of his projections were that he would double his sales which is flimsy. I think the guy in middle tried to rectify it and the others just made it worse.
Those two guys just have a shady vibe to them. I can't pinpoint anything specific just the radiate shifty energy. I think its because they remind me of sleezy dudes you see on nights out. Like they seem like the type where you don't wanna leave your drink out in the open next to them.

I cannot understand how stuff can be delivered and just put by someone's front door. In my country they will only deliver if you are home to collect
Here In the States they just leave it on the doorstep, UPS drivers will occasionally snap photos of the packages to be uploaded to the tracking site, so some homeowners will have signs asking to be delivered to the side door of the house or the backyard, so this idea is great but the inventor was thinking too small on design, during the Pandemic he would’ve been able to explode his business
Regardless of those 3 idiots, what courier will drop a big parcel into the box without needing a signature?

10 minutes of exhaustion caused Deborah to age 10 years in this episode! The big guy on the right just repeated the same thing without even making an effort to simply add the two figures together! I sometimes genuinely believe people just come on here for the craic because even the simplest of business minds we’ve just witnessed should be able to see what’s right from wrong!!

It doesn't matter. Is LPL out there trying to snatch packages? There are arguably no people looking to grab packages off porches that are also stopping to pick locks to get those packages.
Here's an example. We had a rash of mail thefts, they usually occurred right before people started coming home from work. I cut a slit on my mailbox for the letters and put a 10 cent diary lock on box. Boom. My mail was fine, and you could have twisted and broken it with your bare hands.
Yeah, the lock is probably not difficult, but how quickly LPL or any picker gets through it isn't really a reflection on how well it will work or not.

And in addition - - a deterrent is often more effective than the lock itself; unless you are being specifically targeted then the average parcel thief is purely opportunistic. Almost ANY barrier is enough to put them off.

Dragon's Den rule #27: When entrepeneurs talk about how well they prepared for the pitch, it's generally an embarassment.
These guys are just amazing in business and maths hey? Right now it is two concerns, as they have not merged but between them they own 100%. So Brian, right now, has 20% of a business that is 100% his. And then by merging, the numbers will just be added magically to give new projections which will be based on the separate calculations of two separate concerns, but how could it possibly take into account joint effort? (If I make sense)
