You wouldn't believe how many times I have been to hotels and none of the doors had handles on them. That is why I carry an assortment of door handles with me everywhere I go for when these situations present themselves.

If she branded it as a tool for helping clean pets like she said, that actually might’ve been a good angle for it.
When you have a regular shower head and you want one with a hose you simply go to Home Depot, etc...buy one, go home and install it and you have a place to hang the head. I've never seen where you can't buy an adapter for $0.98c or more for your hose. There are tons of them online and in hardware stores and they're much cheaper than buying this ugly contraption. And I would never drag something like this along with me on a vacation.
Me and the fiance said this when she brought it up, it's probably something we would see in Wilko, and pick up for a £5 to help us bathe the cats.
But it's not a business to spend 200k on.
I kept thinking if she made her target market the hotels themselves, she might actually be successful. There’s 0 chance that travelers will buy this, but I’m willing to bet that some hotels would buy these in bulk.
I was thinking if she branded it for carers it could possibly work, when I have helped shower people I can tell you this would have been handy.

This is a very old pitch and it absolutely was a bigger "problem" back then. I still stumble upon this regularly - especially in Asia.
I fully agree it's not worth the bother of carrying it around just in case, but it's a problem that does literally exist...

Whenever I go to a hotel, I am pissed off cause there is no fridge in the room, so for example when I arrive late at night after the long long travel , and the dinner is over I usually go to bed hungry. Bun not anymore. I started to travel with two suitcases lately, one for my clothes, and in the other I bring my microwave oven, a mini fridge, pot, pan, few dishes, glasses and fork. Beside that I bring oil salt and vinegar. So no more hungry nights.

I've done a lot of travelling in my time but I don't think I've ever encountered this issue. Even if I knew I was going somewhere that I would have this problem, I'd rather just deal with it rather than have that big yoke in my bag taking up space.

Imagine turning on the shower not knowing the temperature of it. So we put a flow signal on it, red for hot, blue for cold and yellow for tepid.

I've been to a few B&B's that have had a bath and also have a shower attachment without a holder. The reason for there being no shower holder (I did ask the owner) was for the reason Peter Jones mentioned; they didn't want people standing up in the bath and using the shower attachment. One of the reasons was health and safety (someone slipping) and to try and cut down on the amount of water ending up outside the bath (it wasn't a wet room). I've also noticed that far too many people don't know how to use a shower curtain, strange I know but so many people have the curtain hanging on the outside of the bath - now what is all that about?
This product is actually very good for disabled people, people that want to wash their pets in the bath and for kids. It's also great for poorly designed shower cubicals that don't have a very good adjustable shower head mount. She pitched it all wrong, that was her downfall, oh and her evaluation was bonkers.
I can see so many good reasons to have this product. A travel accessory is not one of them.

I’ve only ever stayed in villas in Greece and not hotels but they all had shower heads. I’ve gone on holiday in Greece about 5 times now.

I actually lived in a flat for 18 years where we didn't have a shower holder. I just held the shower head in my hand. I honestly don't understand why that is an issue. Just hold it in your hand and direct it wherever you want to wash. And when you want to shampoo, just turn the water off, put the shower head down, shampoo, pick up the shower head again and turn the water back on. It's not complicated. It's not difficult. It's not annoying. It's natural. This is solving an issue that absolutely nobody has.
Who wants to be turning the water on and off when showering? Just fit a holder lol.
@@elobiretv It's literally one turning off and on. Turn on, shower, turn off, soap, turn on, wash soap away, turn off. The lack of a holder adds only two steps into this and each of them literally takes a second. Plus it saves water.
Or just buy a bucket and a mug.

I think she was definitely marketing this to the wrong people. I work in a nursing home, and I can see the carers I work with using these when washing the residents since it means they can reposition it depending on what's needed. If she aimed this towards the disability market and gave it a much smaller, more honest valuation, perhaps one of the dragons would have taken it on.

Even then a lot of shower heads are adjustable and slide up and down a pole to the height you need.
That‘s what a I call a solution looking for a problem.
Also, look how big that thing is (given its usefulness in 99% of hotels). Consider how much space that thing takes up in your luggage! No way I would ever want that thing to take up space in my suitcase.

Should have gone in with the other uses as the priority, especially homecarers [and disabilities] and it would have seemed a pretty useful and solidly made product. Wouldn't have come across as a piece of crap you expect people to lug around in their rucksacks then.

Everytime I wash my dog I wish I had a mount to put the showerhead at a low level while I soap her. She's marketing this wrong.

I hate when I travel to some city and it doesn't have anywhere to sleep, so I usually bring my own hotel.
You won’t believe the number of hotels where I have stayed and found no sawn-off shotgun in the room.
I wouldn’t dream of going out in my hometown without a sawn-off shotgun, in order for me to hold-up banks, jewellery shops and the like.
But I’m not always able to carry a shotgun with me on all my travels.
If someone could arrange for every hotel / B ‘n B / boarding house to have sawn-off shotguns readily available in the rooms, I’m sure the Dragons would be ready to invest.
I have actually had this problem! I travelled to Greece and the Grecian islands kinda frequently when I was younger, and it is true that a fair amount of hotels there don't have shower head holders. And yes, in a shower and not a bath. It's really weird honestly.
What if the shower wall tiles are awkwardly sized/spaced and those sucker things are not able to get suction? Plus that thing is too bulky to carry in a suitcase.
I stayed in a hotel once where the lights didn’t work, I now carry a box of spare bulbs everywhere I go

I’ve stayed in many hotels and yes I have seen some hotels with no shower head holders, but would I travel with a shower head holder to specifically tackle this problem? No.
Maybe if it came as part of a set of tools, maybe? Or she could even sell it to low cost housing developers to use as an alternative? But even so I doubt it because it’s not a permanent low cost solution.

This is actually a very good product. But the lady has no imagination or selling skills. When my boy was a toddler I installed another shower holder so it would be to his height. Then when I put soap and shampoo on him, the shorter holder I installed is easy and fast to access rather than standing up then down many times. Plus my son and daughter then loved it. It can also be used to wash pets as a secondary movable holder in YOU HOUSE. THEN you have a dam market!

When I stay in Benidorm none of the hotels have carpet in the rooms. So I always travel with a roll of carpet , underlay , tools and pin strips.
Next time go to Denia... they do have carpets there.

Thanks for sharing. Head to America and Canada and negotiate licensing agreements. It is also handy if you are in a wheelchair, in a nursing home, elderly home or hospital.

b) Even if I had, it's so situational and rare that this isn't remotely an investable business.
c) I also doubt anybody is going to think 'oh I've got really limited packing space for my flight, let's use my premium space on a Scmuck on the rare occasion there's a missing shower hanging'.

I would've loved it every time I visited my grandparents (here in Hungary). They had this kind of arrangment without a showerhead holder --- and no, they didn't take baths.

I can see this being helpful for people with mobility issues, who shower sitting down. They may or may not be able to reach the usual shower head holder and this lets them keep the shower head at a good level. Helpful in rental situations or otherwise where permanent modifications can’t be done to the bathroom.
Shame she chose to focus on an invented problem I’ve never ever heard of in an attempt to market to abled customers.
I have traveled all over the world and in all the dozens and dozens of hotel showers I've been in that has a shower head like this that doesn't have a holder for it. This is an invention for a problem that doesn't exist.
