Here we attempt to cover as many as possible including some obscure entries like Big Wheel in an attempt to determine who is the best. But the real winner is whomever you think. Thanks for watching!

Corn of Coblin is an obvious S-tier
sometimes I wake up in a cold sweat at just the thought of the Corn of Coblin, bloody thing of nightmares
This guy made a reference I got, so I like it!
Corn of Coblin is S+
Best comment
Naturally
Peter’s landlord will always be an S tier villain
This might be a set up for a dumb joke but I think you mean Mister Ditkovich
@@dastvan8002 aaaah no you’re right!!!
@@dastvan8002 thank the lord for the edit button XD
All Spiderman villains wish they could be Mr Ditkovich
Rent?
In Rhino's first appearance, Spiderman dodges him a few times and then Rhino gets tired, falls over and is arrested.
Solid S-Tier behaviour.
For that performance alone he’s S tier just below corn of coblin imo
The Most Boomer of All Villains
@@ErikN1982 Then in another comic Rhino fights the fucking Hulk for a day *seriously* the dude is by the far the strongest in Spidey's Rogues Gallery but only when it matters.
They punch for a bit, then he gets all tuckered out
Just like Spectacular lmao
"Fun" Fact: Until the 90s cartoon decided to make him just a cannon fodder villain, Shocker was the most successful Spider-Man villain. With beating, or escaping from Spider-Man over 50% of the time. Why was he so successful? He didn't want to mess around with Spider-Man. He just wanted money so never wanted to fight or hold grudges with Spider-Man. Just took the money and when Spider-Man showed up, knock up down long enough to make a getaway. Once the 90s jobbered him, his character never really recovered. Secret A tier.
Shocker is also one of the few villains who is Super Effective against the Symbiote.
This is kinda in lore now, alot of tye spiderman versions refer to the shocker as someone he struggled with when he first started
It also takes part of one of the best scenes in spider-man media, and that is him being chased by Spider-man with the simbiote suit
Thing is, I like him as a reoccurring pest. Not some super genius or ultra powerful threat, just a guy who wants to make some money with a power that can knock Spidey off his feet if he gets careless. Not completely weak and dumb, but not some city wide threat either.
Cool, because I have this Mandela effect memory about the Shocker being one of Spiderman's toughest foes. I think Stan Lee said it on some promotional show in the late 90s.
I think the Vulture is one of my favourite Spidey foes for the Simple fact that he’s literally 100 years old and is on the brink of death but at the same time he’s healthy enough to both fly through New York and fight Spider-Man. The fact that the vulture has won some of his fights against spidey and didn’t have a heart attack is genuinely a miracle
Haha true talk 😂
I'm pretty sure his suit makes him super strong.
Vulture is X-Men villain rn. He hates mutants, because they didn't share immortality
He's got Blue Chew on his side
I also love that issue where he just pulls out a uzi and is all "fuck it, I'm just gonna shot you. Spider Man"
And then the Human Torch shows up and burns up his wings and he falls to presumably his death.
@@Ili-v4z X-Men villain you know, comics are nuts
Oh boy I can’t wait to see where my favorite Spider-Man villain, The Corn of Coblin, ranks on this definitive list!
So glad he's back, it has been years.
Now remember, they said they can't do ALL the bad guys in the Spider.... well I'll be damned.
Before they go on their end of year break, the boys should do a tier list of recurring bits #rodney
One of the most interesting things about scorpion that isn't explored in other media is that he was created by J Johna Jameson and that he HATES Jameson and tries to kill him alot.
The 2000 game had a boss fight with him trying to kill JJJ.
@@anispidey I remember that
This is actually mentioned in the new game
Speaking of old Triple J, S Tier villain.
wasn’t this touched upon in the original animated series? I remember that it had his origin story and he did try to kill J J Jameson. Aint sure if it was ever touched upon after that episode though. Kinda just became a filler villain for sinister six and all that.
The iteration of Kraven in the new video game is absolutely an S tier villain. Best version of the character I’ve ever seen.
Fax
Agreed.. he was easily the best thing about the game tbh lol enjoyed him even more than Venom
S tier is a bit much. Spectacular Tombstone on the other hand…
Better than Kraven’s Last Hunt?!
@@giiotm8272 Not just Kraven, Carnage and Venom. I'm looking forward to what they do with Carnage, Chamelon and Green goblin next game.
I can't believe they even bothered ranking the rest when Corn of Coblin was right there.
SSS tier.
In one particularly bizarre "what if" story, the Green Goblin's colour scheme was changed drastically, and his powers were oriented around water. However, the new "Aqua Goblin" and his colour scheme proved to be a bust with comic fans and the panels were quickly recoloured in an effort to surprise fans before the news got out, with the artist in charge of this effort codenaming it Blue Harvest.
Cool fact.
Got me.
Damn, I thought you were going to make a Corn of Cobblin origin, lol.
You got me, god damn it.
@@stevencooper564 beat me to this comment
Shocker has immense play in the video games, for some reason.
The dude is in 90% of all Spider-Man video games, since the PS1 days
i think it comes from the fact that before the 90's animated show, the shocker was spider-man's most successful villain in the regard he used to win more then half the time whenever he fought spider-man
I think what separates an S-Tier or A-Tier Spidey villain from the lower tiers is the question, "Could I see this guy being a challenge for anyone other than Spider-Man?"
Kingpin serves as an excellent final boss for Marvel's more street level heroes. Venom's concept works so well that he's barely even Spider-Man related in the comics anymore. Green Goblin has been the cause for several world altering events in the comics. And Mephisto is literally the devil.
Captain America ain't gonna have any trouble fighting Vulture or Chameleon. Just gonna break them into dust.
@SirAsdf
I feel like Green Goblin either movie or comic but especially movie GG destroys Cap in a fight. Steve has only ever fought dudes who are relatively sane, Norman is like the Joker if he could lift a truck.
Yeah, that's one of the biggest plusses in the Kingpin's favor. You slot him into pretty much any other Marvel hero's gallery (which they did with Daredevil) and he's still a massive threat.
Green Goblin is really like Spider-Man's Joker. He could easily be a pain and a threat to other heroes, but he chooses to pick on Peter because he's his favorite.
I love how neither Vulture nor Chameleon are in the A-tier
With Kingpin as they say in the video he can also slot into a Lex Luthor like business villain role, so even for the higher level heroes he could still cause trouble even if he’s not a physical threat.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 screenwriters should be in the first place
It scares me how many people try to defend those films and this isn't his fault but Andrew Garfield wasn't even good in those movies. He did great in no way home though
@@ChrisControversial they're fine, def not the worst of the worst. I personally prefer them over Toms trilogy. Plus people cry at the end of TASM 2 BECAUSE of Andrew even tho they dont care for the film, how is that a "wasnt even good"
It sucks cause everything else about the movie (the vfx, the music, the cinematography) was super cool but the script was just so awful
@@Antwannnn it's not a matter of your perspective or what u prefer or not, those movies are just the worst and Tom's are way better
ehhhh id say the studio is more to blame there. i think if there hadnt been so much studio interference, it’d be closer to a Man of Steel, where it takes some big swings with the lore, but is still an interesting take on the character. But a lot of what makes that movie a tough watch are the things mandated by the studio. I’m not here to defend the movie, it was bad, but a script goes through so many hands once it’s done, i don’t think the blame falls on them
If Bully Maguire is not S-tier, I swear I’m gonna put some dirt in your eye….
Mr.Sunday Movies: I missed the part where that's my problem.😂😂😂😂
Rhino's arc in the Dan Slott Amazing Spider-man run was superb; going straight, losing his wife, still managing to try and just live his life, dragged back in, messed up by having her clone come back and then die in his arms, etc.
Plus the scene with him and Silver Sable in the rising water is incredible. Honestly, he's been elevated way beyond the (now fairly pedestrian) "big dumb guy you need to make run into things" characterisation a few times and I wish it would stick.
@thescottishaccent7952
People forget Rhino has fought goddamn Hulk and Juggernaut and given them both trouble he could probably kill Spidey if truly wanted and it's only through Peter's luck and Rhino's lack of commitment that he doesn't.
@@li-limandragon9287 pete also has higher physical strength than the majority of marvel heroes, his spider-sense helps him subconsciously pull his punches so he isn't punching normies heads off like hes playing mortal kombat
@@zeywopBut against Rhino that really should just be cute.
@@li-limandragon9287other way around💀 Spidey could easily kill him. Even almost does it in the 90s cartoon
On the other end we have Lizard who in my opininion has gone down a few tiers after he ate his son and killed his wife also he is perminantly in Lizard form. Chamelion had a real chance at becomming A or even S tier after he unmasked Spiderman and was gonna 'assault' MJ. I believe they copped out the last second of the story and had MJ beat Chamelion with a baseball bat.
The Insomniac team did a freaking phenomenal job with a lot of these villains but especially Venom. I was legitimately terrified of him in this game in the best way possible.
Special props to the animators, Tony Todd did a fantastic job with the voice, but there’s something so unsettling about how Venom moved and how his mouth morphed.
I'm excited to see how they will adapt the green goblin. They should make him terrifying too.
Need better designers for their villains
They did Kraven and Venom really good, also they proved once again that evil Venom is mich better than anti-hero Venom
Idk I really really love Donny Cates Venom, the Rememder era of venom was great too. Having said that, I love a big ol evil venom too
Vulture was the first villain canonically to kinda get one over on Spiderman, hence why he tends to always give Spiderman the proper fade one time despite being an old guy
Carnage is A tier at the MINIMUM. He has merged with so many other people forming crazy bad guys over the years. Carnage + Doc Ock - terrifying. Carnage and Green Goblin - wild!
Yeah that's the big error in this list, Carnage should be A or S
Nah carnage was too much 90s edginess to be up there with the others, still good just not great
Ehh… I honestly think that’s solidly justified placement. He’s only ever used for big event stuff now. He’s ludicrously strong and barely even a Spider-Man villain these days. If anything, Kingpin is the major placement I disagree with. The dude is B-tier at best when he’s a Spidey villain.
You're making a solid point against your own opinion with your reasoning, if the best you can say about him is that it's scary when the Carnage symbiote takes over far better villains. Carnage isn't the Carnage symbiote + Doc Ock or anyone else, it's the symbiote + Cletus Kasady. And Cletus is the most one-dimensional villain of all time. Like his entire character is that he's a psychopathic serial killer who really enjoys killing.
I like that he exists, it's fine to have a few villains who're just straight up evil, no BS. But he can't really be above B-tier for that reason.
Funnily enough you put Scorpion pretty low but during the 2000's he became venom for quite a few years and ended up being more menacing and dangerous than Eddie Brock
I hated that era of Scorpion. Making him Venom felt redundant in my eyes because Scorpion was the original villian with a similiar gimmick thing.
Not only that but he is tied to Jonah Jameson as well who got him in the suit and he hates him as much as Spider-Man. He shares this with the Smythe's, Spencer and Alister
Mad respect for putting Mephisto in S-tier. As a proxy of Marvel editorial he's truly Spider-Man's greatest foe and done the most long-term damage. He's literally been winning for 16 years and counting.
Thinking about it, I feel like Doc Ock could be in a tier above S. His 616 debut in the 60s is excellent, the Master Planner arc, founding the Sinister Six, the 90s version, Alfred Molina, William Salyers, Kathryn Hahn, the backpack in the basement of origins, even great in the modern 616 comics that everyone hates.
I think Green Goblin is a several degrees better than Ock no matter what, he hurt Spidey the most first by killing Gwen, in Dark Avengers/Thunderbolts he becomes a threat to the whole goddamn Marvel Universe like Doctor Doom and unlike Doom he's had a pheromonal live action portrayal thank to Willem Dafoe. Not to mention GG gets to be the best parts of Lex Luthor and Joker combined both being evil buinessman and cackling lunatic that just wants to cause chaos.
Don't get me wrong Otto is great but I personally think he's too sympathetic be the ultimate nemesis and while everyone goes on about Superior Spider-Man if you put that aside he hasn't done that much while Norman despite being dead for years has done heaps of shit not just to Spidey but the everyone on Marvel Earth. No Way Home just puts the nail in the coffin for me.
@@li-limandragon9287 Ock beats Goblin for me because he's mores successfully manipulative. Heck, he even manages to body-swap Peter to prove he'd make a better Spider-Man.
@@hollandscottthomasPeople drone on and on about Superior Spider-Man but name me a single thing Ock has done beyond that.
@@li-limandragon9287 All the stuff in OP’s post.
@li-limandragon9287 I gotta agree. Ock is great, and clearly an S, but Goblin's glider/weaponry combo is just SO perfect for sick aerial battles with Spidey above the streets of NYC. I know Ock can climb buildings and stuff, but I'm more partial to loop de loops and pumpkin bombs! 🎃
You missed J. Jonah Jameson. Not really a villain, but definitely an antagonist. Should be S tier.
I always liked that he respected Peter Parker though. And there were a few times that he risked his life to protect others
To this day, the most terrifying MCU villain is Adrian Toomes. Not The Valture. Just ... Michael Keaton pulls off slowly coming to the realization that "Oh, I guess I'm going to have to murder a child" in such a believable and horrifying way that it gave me chills.
That shot in the car with the traffic lights changing from red to green as he realises Peter's secret always sends chills down my spine
okay
Maybe his best villains are really just the friends he made along the way..
Nah, C tier. Mid
You're talking about Harry Osborn, ain't ya.
Scorpion will always be a solid A tier for me.
Yes, he's one of those guys that King Pin would hire to defeat Spiderman but how could you not love his gunk firing tail in the 90's show?
Guess they couldn't show a tail that would pierce someone.
This was great. Would love to see you do the same with the Batman rogues
Warner Brothers is S-tier surely.
You gotta give Spidey and Bats an S tier rank for their rogues galleries as a whole!
Love having me a Tuesday afternoon rank. Thanks, gents.
In my opinion, characters who are more directly tied with Peter's day-to-day life are automatically more interesting and will be at least B and up teir.
Carnage just acquired all the powers, by aborbing hydroman then the spot, then forging a new all-black, then going through the multiverse and aborbing venoms, with powers that make him immune to his weaknesses, aswell as anti-venom, dream-stone venom. Silver surfer venom, and to top it all off, knull himself
Big wheel not being S tier is unforgivable
Clear showing of nitpicking and bias
@@madduxnagel6935it's a joke
@@Juggernaut4299 …bruh.
Tier list looks fine and good but, the deep emotional connection between lizard and Peter, how he's always so desperate to save him, makes him go higher in the list.
James and Mason are officially put into the D tier list for not mentioning Tombstone's amazing role in The Spectacular Spider-Man
Corn of Coblin and Mr Dinosaur would be a dangerous duo to face
they shouldn't be allowed to have a villain named Electro and a completely different villain named Shocker at the same time. I used to always get them confused.
I loved it when James said "It's ranking time" and then ranked all over the place.
I've got a soft spot in my heart for the Spot. He was in the very first Spider-Man comic that I ever read.
Its interesting hie prowler is so firmly recognized as a villain after spider-verse, yet he's been a hero for like 99% of his existence. Like he had so thoroughly reformed as a character that they barely referenced him as a criminal. Hawkeye was a villain for longer than him.
....this isnt a nitpick, i just genuinely find the reputation he has to be super interesting
I believe there’s a comic where Kingpin organized an attack on Spiderman and almost killed Aunt May which leads to Spiderman almost killing Kingpin in prison in front of all the other criminals there. If you can push Spiderman to that dark of a place, think you may be a good villain. A good villain can bring out the worst in our heroes.
That is Back in Black, it's set right after Civil War where Peter unveiled himself as Spider-Man publicly, obviously that went terribly and his enemies all now know who he is with Kingpin sending a sniper to take him out but the bullet hits Aunt May and he goes after Kingpin for revenge putting the Black suit back on for the first time in years. An actual Black suit not an alien symbiote but still it gives him such an intimidating look especially when he's mowing his way through Kingpins gang without cracking a single joke and eventually he almost kills Kingpin in front of his gang, it's an awesome story but unfortunately it's followed up by the Mephisto stuff which just put me off reading Spider-Man for good with how bad that crap was.
Hobgoblin and Tombstone are both made great by the cartoons they starred in.
"What's [Carnage] done lately?"
I wish he wasn't doing anything lately, by god. It's like we're back in the days of Venom-mania again.
I reckon a tier list for superheroes based on the quality of their rogues gallery as a whole would make a sweet video! Like, you know Spidey and Bats are S tier right off the bat.
I kinda love they put Mephisto in S-tier. Dude did one thing and irreparably damaged Spider-Man for going on 20 years now. That said he's still got nothing on the concept of Clones. The true bane of Spider-Man since 1994.
Release the fifth element caravan of garbage! Please
Remember the 90’s Spider-Man cartoon where Electro and Chameleon are brothers and for some reason Red Skull is their dad?
The electro in the 2003 MTV animated series is really terrifying. I like a Spider-Man villain that can be silly or spooky as all hell depending on the version
The mention of corn of coblin has made me actually tear up on a terrible day this is why I absolutely love you guys
We'll put Peters landlord on the list when he fixes that damn door!
These lists are a lot of fun. Well done, mates.
I disliked the inclusion of Mephisto on your list as I think he's just not associated with Spider-Man enough, but I LOVED that you included the people who came up with Brand New Day with Mephisto. 'By what in-universe mechanics should we reset Spider-Man's love life?' 'Deal with the devil?!' 'Great idea!' 🤡
Also would have placed Kingpin lower not because I don't like the character or because he has no association with Spider-Man - he originated in Amazing - but because at this point I feel like he belongs more to Daredevil (Into The Spider-Verse notwithstanding).
i agree with you on mephisto, the fact mephisto he is s tier as well doesnt sit right with me
I can't Believe they forgot Hydro-Man!
Lizard is S tier because his name is Curtis and that's my name, but also I like turtles, so that's also a bonus.
You forgot the greatest Spider-Man villain of them all… Ari Arad.
In terms of adaptations, Kraven in the new spider-man 2 game was incredible
I'm really happy to see they included Morlun on the list, but I'm bummed he got such a low rating. I've only ever seen Morlun in the story where he was introduced: "Coming Home". MAN was he an awesome opponent in that story! The writers made him so threatening that I was legitimately fearing for Peter Parker's life!
But a really fun video (as always) 🙂

Shocker is at least A he is so damn consistent and I like he’s just a dude because he’s funnily relatable. He just wants money and as soon as his life is at risk he dips. Being just a dude that has a suit with no real grudges makes him so grounded.

As much as I dislike the trend of ranking everything, I don't care what James and Mason do, I will watch it.
I like shocker purely because of that scene from the 90s csrtoon where spiderman has the least spidermanish voices imaginable and hes going "GET BACK HERE SHOCKKERRRRRR"
Another reason venom is an s-teir: He kept an imprinted memory of every piece of biological life in the universe, and used it to restart the universe after its initial end. (This is a super-abreviated summary of a great Venom story
I feel like Venom is Spider Man’s greatest foe because he changes the chemistry of spider man and starts making him act different. The battle of Venom is the battle to find one’s self again.
Shocker in the PS1 games was really great. Peak shocker
