    It's a shame ether is not easy to get a hold of. I've wanted to tinker around with Diesels, but don't feel emptying cans of starter fluid to get it is a great plan.

      Thank you so much for these engines. Of course I knew what the bearings were for; that was for dramatic effect in the video. ;-)

      I've used an Iron Bay regulator that used a tap from the crankcase to pressurize the fuel tank. The regulator would hold back the pressure and only allow past what the carburetor was drawing. This setup tends to cause a rich midrange because the low end mixture screw needed to be open more because of the lack of muffler pressure.
