Saw you on robby layton so I came over to check out your channel. Looks good so far. Never though of mounting the engine stand to the side of the block, genius.
Tim..your choice of a color pallete for that engine is completely on point. Perhaps one day I will pull the 12 valve from my first gen and make her the beauty she deserves to be too. Instead of the greasy, oily mess she is right now.
Also want to recommend rigid seat belt extenders for people that are going through rotator cuff surgery. I had bought some for my 1/2 ton Chevy back in September and just purchased a set for my 93 D350 (although it doesn't have stock seats or seat belts). Picked both sets up from Seat Belt Extender Pros in Florida. Being in the PT arena, I bet lots of your patients would find them useful no matter what type of vehicle they drive. Make sure to recommend the 'RIGID' style as they can be used more easily with one arm/hand.

@@decentgarage Thanks Tim. I appreciate that. Best part was they were free with the free donor convertible. They would make nice seats for the Crew Cab. But I have another idea for that. Getting real close to paint. Debating on 2 tone grey n silver or red n white like Tyler's. Thanks for watching.
Rocky thanks for the comment. I purposely didn't do instructions on the timing wheel because power driven diesel already has a great video on how to use it. 👍 You running a ppump?
Thanks Ronald! I've got a lot of work ahead of me but I'm excited as well. I need to have a Decent Garage sanding party and have anyone who wants to come help sand this boat 😂
Maybe I missed it - I didn't see that you did anything to deal with the KDP . . . did you have an updated timing cover, or did you address it another way, or not at all? Would like more commentary describing what you're doing and why along the way vs music - would be very helpful. Nice build. I haven't seen many DIY Cummins overhauls.
This one video is actually a summary of a 4 video series. Those 4 videos go in to all those details and I intentionally made this video a summary with less explanation.
You know I never did get your first name I forget anyways ah hey I just put one of those transfer 8315 voltage regulators on my Dodge 91.5 and I was having a terrible overcharging problem and fixed it right up I’m running between 13.9 and 14 02 anyway thank you for the tutorial on that issue I also watched Greg Abrella do the same thing anyways this is six in a row jim From Kennerdell Pennsylvania
@@richardhoffman7092 go look for a video on my channel called "are crew cabs really that rare". I pick up a white crew cab in that video and do a full walkaround. I would let this one go for $7500
I have a new weird situation. After having not driven the 93 D350 since early Sep before my rotator cuff surgery, I started driving it again a week or so after my 2nd surgery on 3/23. I checked the oil and coolant before starting to drive it. All looked good. Then after 150 miles my oil pressure dropped. I checked the oil level and it was down a quart+ below the 'safe' level which was probably closer to a total of 3 quarts lost. No leaks (other than a drip here or there), and no excess smoke. So I changed the filter and oil yesterday. Out came 3.65 gallons (plus whatever was in the filter. Then when I added 3 gallons of oil, it never reached the 'safe' level. Checked to make sure that the dipstick tube wasn't coming out of the bottom of the block and that looked good. Totally baffled. The only thing abnormal that I found was that my son put the engine blow off tube down on the inside of the dipstick tube. I'm not driving it until I can figure this out.
@@decentgarage I checked the dipstick tube today and it was fine. I can't get him to come help for probably a good week or so, as one of his great aunts passed away today and another passed away last Saturday.
Hey Douglas, great question! Successfully building a TH-cam channel is quite nuanced. Just putting out videos is not good enough. I've got to have some videos that are entertaining and some that are more informational. This video fits the entertaining category whereas the series of the engine build is more informational. I am also constantly trying to improve my filming and editing techniques. This video presented a great opportunity to work on both of those aspects (kudos if you can pick up on those details). Hope this helps in understanding the "why" of recycled content and I appreciate you tuning in 👍

Welcome to the channel! For the weight of the Cummins it's really the only way to mount the engine unless you build a custom stand.
