What a badass build!! There's a lot of blood, sweat, and tears in that metal. A lot of heart and soul, too. I think I must have laughed for 10 minutes straight when he got her with the train horn the first time, though. Whew!! Seriously, though, thanks for taking a "detour" through this man's garage to see the fabulous mechanical monstrosity he's given life to. Made me smile a lot watching you drive it. I think there's a reason rat rods get hold of people, especially those who dedicate themselves to bringing one into the world. They're very personal. Each one has something to say. Thank you for the video. This is the best car, work ethic & determination story ever. I bet the best part of this car is the look of fright from all the people as they run for their lives to move out of the way, separating the sea of electric vehicle traffic like Moses at the red sea, allowing the diesel dukes of the world to be free as the moto gods intended, sparks and all. In 06 my dad died in my arms at the Bronx VA hospital. A month later my Rottweiler, the best friend I’ve ever had; my 11 year old baby I took absolutely everywhere I went died in my arms at the Vet. It was so hard with my dad but my baby broke my soul. I still cry almost every time I think about him like I am now. His ashes are right next to me when I go to bed and when I die, he gets buried with me. This guy has that same exact je ne sais quoi I did when I lost my baby. How he could even talk about that is beyond me. Awesome video as usual Nicole 👊🏽
It's so wild for me that you can drive this on the road. Here in Germany you wouldn't drive this 5 minutes before police would stop you and you're in big big trouble then :)

You did it again young lady. That one looks like fun. Saw the rough brazing and it took me back half a century. Chopped my first top with a torch and brazing rod and old coat hangers. I have a couple of horns like that I'm putting in my '66 Plymouth. They sure do get your attention.🤣 Really enjoyed this one. Thanks

Gotta stop here at the air horn bit to say yet again that the content here is beautifully predictable in some ways (fabulous host, great content, indelible images) yet always unpredictable in other ways (engineering excellence, historical perspectives and such) but I don’t think I’ve seen anybody set up Nicole for an outtake better than Duke did with the air horn. My god that was perfection. The setup was calm, nice measured tempo and tone and BLATTTT! sent our normally unflappable host damn near through the garage wall and clean outta state…while Duke stood there all casual and quiet to let the A/V collect all the collateral damage behind to reassemble itself. Well played. I’m laughing WITH you, Nicole. Just wanted to clarify that…⛄️ *Edit*…Finally managed to get through the whole segment and yes I let the ads run all the way (of course). I don’t think I’ve laughed out loud more at a car segment than this one. Okay maybe that ancient Top Gear episode where they raced motorhomes around a paved oval track. But other than that one, this. What a gem. And now, off to watch it all over again.

Don't get me wrong I love Stradman and JJW and DDE, but your channel takes a step back and is very mature and well thought out. I love the video setup and organization. Well done Mrs. Johnson. You remind me of old TV and TH-cam. I hope you get all the Subs.
Thank you so much...we appreciate that!!!
Nicole and her production team are top notch and so amazing!!!
In a world that's often too plastic and shiny, this one is brutally beautiful. Bravo to you both!!
Very well said!!! We're so glad you enjoyed watching!
Thank you so much for enjoying my build it was my crazy dream and it’s insanely fun
@@dustinduke7028 - I hope you enjoy it for many years to come. Like you said, it's a piece of art, and the world needs to see it out there on the road. And if I may, my sincerest condolences on the loss of your little buddy. My heart breaks every time we lose one, so I know what that pain is. Good to know he got to supervise your build and ride with you a few times. I'm sure he loved every minute of it. Take care.

Nothing beats turbocharged diesel power. Pure torque. I know petrol lovers will kill me now but that's what I prefer albeit I admire and like gasoline cars.
Thank you...we appreciate the comment!!
Yes the torque feel and sound is THE BEST HANDS DOWN!!
That guys personality is what just got you a sub. This was a great watch.
Awesome...thank you for the sub!! We're glad you enjoyed watching!
Holeeee cow! This car is absolutely RIDICULOUS in the best ways possible. Huge props to you, Dustin, for taking hold of this project and making your dream ride a reality. Absolutely amazing technology built in that no one could appreciate without really looking closely. And Nicole, you killed it with another amazing episode. Your enthusiasm and ability to connect with people really shines. You two look like you had a blast and it’s pretty incredible that you are the only person other than Dustin to get behind the wheel. Dustin is clearly an open book “heart-on-the-sleeves” kind of guy, but you just make it easy, too. Meeting you in person just the one time showed me that exactly, and why your channel is becoming so successful. Thanks so much for bringing us another great car and a great guy.
As a side note Dustin, my best to you and your family as you deal with the passing of your beloved Bassett. Pretty cool that you so openly credit your parents for helping you become the man you are today.
Thank you so much!! We sincerely appreciate your kind words...glad you enjoyed watching!!

Just WOW. Amazing piece of art and power. Congratulations to your parents for encouraging you as they did. This looks like it belongs in an iteration of Mad Max. Keep up the good work. Nicole, keep bringing them. You’re awesome and really get to the heart of each story.

Also I gotta say this…. And for every mom and dad out here… to hear you speak about your parents the way you did, and get that emotional… I pray that I impact my children’s lives the way your father impacted yours. He sounds like an amazing man.

The interior of this is the coolest. The electrical components, the patchwork door lining, the brass knuckles in the wheel... it's a work of art. True expression executed beautifully.

Son were so proud of the loving artistic man youve become. Mom
He is so personable and a genuinely good guy! We enjoyed spending time and getting to know him. You have every right being proud of your son!
I'd love to see a fuel release switch so when you drop it to spark, it leaves a trail of fire behind like the superhero you are. Even if you blow up it would probably worth the sheer joy.
Thank you for sharing with us...very touching!! We're glad you enjoyed watching the video!!
Built not bought....he spilled his soul on this vehicle.
Yes...absolutely!! Thank you for watching!!
100 percent bud it was a labor of love!
It's so wild for me that you can drive this on the road. Here in Germany you wouldn't drive this 5 minutes before police would stop you and you're in big big trouble then :)
Or just take it over with American plates and they can’t say anything then, lol.
@@Onizukachan915 Of course they can. It's still not street legal and considered too dangerous for german streets. American plates don't change german laws. Also you have to register it and have insurance to drive it here. You would never get insurance for this.
@@Onizukachan915 Same as you can't drive with an american drivers licence here in Germany if you're under 18 years old. American laws aren't german laws.
I've recently begun binge watching all of your episodes. I love cars and what I also love is the human element that you bring to every story. Each episode is someones personal story which is just as amazing as every car.

Nicole, every video you do you bring out the best in people. And that big guy Dustin Duke had a lot of good for you to bring out. Just wanted to clarify that…⛄️
*Edit*…Finally managed to get through the whole segment and yes I let the ads run all the way (of course). I don’t think I’ve laughed out loud more at a car segment than this one. Okay maybe that ancient Top Gear episode where they raced motorhomes around a paved oval track. But other than that one, this. What a gem. And now, off to watch it all over again.
Thank you so much for enjoying my build and the great job Nicole and her crew does!!
