  • Showing the use of the Cleandrill™ Tool. Tool is designed to effortlessly drill a hole in the rear of the 10/22® Rifle receiver. This allows the use of a cleaning rod thru the rear of the barrel when the bolt is removed from the gun. Tool is manufactured by, and is available from gunsmithertools... ,
    and from midwayusa.com

Love it. I have used it on four 10/22s.

Indeed my friend, but nothing beats a brush for chamber and throat cleaning in my experience, hence the cleaning rod hole in the rear.

    Great idea👌🏻
Quick question: How does one go about removing the barrel breach? Heat receiver in the oven?

If you have a Ruger factory barrel, they usually come out easily. Remove the two screws that hold the "V" shaped barrel retainer block, and the barrel should come out. A tight fitting aftermarket barrel may not come out easily,
and may require some heat on the receiver; use a hair dryer to heat the receiver to remove a tight barrel.

you can always use a bore snake to clean the barrel

Once a bore snake gets dirty you just end up pushing that dirt down the barrel. A good brush will give you a cleaner rifle.

    It is 3/8" in diameter.

No the hole will be covered by the stock, and the chamber would be open immediately after firing.

How do you change the bit in the extension?

    • @gunsmither

You don't. The drill bit is a very high quality bit, and will stay sharp for many hundreds of holes in Aluminum. Use a little WD-40 or cutting oil to lube it.

    Holy over complicating things!!!
Good idea, but I can't believe people actually think they need that to make that hole.
    Ridiculous.
