      Lower egts will have negative effects on dpf, it needs high temperatures to burn up the soot. Your regens will be much longer.
      Now you have lower boost because of the lower egts.
      Emissions compliant trucks do not always work well with aftermarket parts.
      Does gauge shows dpf load %?

      That was Totally Awesome! Do you think if I done this to my LMM that I could get the same effect? With my stock exhaust system. I can easily get to a thousand degrees with the truck only on a slite grade especially in the exhaust gas temperatures. A Awesome post by the way.

      I actually do not think they’re worth it. These diesel engines come with a five 100 warranty you shouldn’t touch it until it’s out of warranty. Even so there is an a lot of work for such a small return.

    Good video dude! My freind at the dealership said he has done about 10 trucks so far with the same issue!! I will tell the other readers of this post that I have a 2021 Duramax with 127k on it. I drive cross country for a living. That's why such high mileage already. There is an issue with the stock manifold on the driver's rear cracking the bolts or warping the manifold where it Connects to the up pipe on the back side. Gm decided to use smaller hardware on the L5P's....Way to go GM!! So this kit Josh is installing is almost a must have!! I'm getting ready to have my drivers side manifold replaced under warranty I have a 150k warranty on my truck thank God! Hope this helps.

    A pondering: by opening the flow of the plumbing, maybe that reduced the boost or psi in the system. I’m thinking of an HPLV and LPHV pneumatics system. If you have a constant air supply coming in…and you change the volume the air travels through, you will inadvertently change the pressure/boost in that system. More or less boost doesn’t necessarily mean more or less power unless you’re programmed for that pressure coming off the turbo.

    On a deleted truck the lower egts is great. But with emissions in tact you kinda want the heat to keep the dpf filter burned out or else it’ll regenerate far more, they need the heat the maintain emissions function properly.

  • @xtrodinaryduramax8010
    @xtrodinaryduramax8010 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Your boost numbers could have gone down because of the better flow. From what I understand, the higher boost you have, the more stagnant air you have chilling not doing anything. I could be wrong, but when I put my manifolds and up pipes on, I wasn't able to reach the 32 psi I had beforehand. Awesome video, keep it up man!

  • @roryrohrer7640
    @roryrohrer7640 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    I am so pumped about the lower egt but I wonder if it makes the dpf less efficient since there is now less heat to burn off any soot, probably over thinking but very interesting to see and how much power was gained from this install on the blue L5P 😀. Love the videos keep them coming. Also I can't wait till you see the difference when you get it tuned, It made my emissions equipped lml with 35s and 22s feel like a totally different truck, it is also regening less frequently.

    • @jetthelooter
      @jetthelooter ปีที่แล้ว +2

      it probably will lead to more soot clogging the dpf. these trucks were designed specifically to run hotter to burn soot before it gets to the dpf.
      so doing this mod plus s tune and your probably going to kill the dpf filter at some point

    I have a 2006 kodiak lly. I have heard that doing these mods do next to nothing on them, as they are detuned from the factory and already have different pipes then the pick up trucks. Do you have any experience with mods on the medium duty trucks? By the way, I only see max 20 psi on my boost.

    So I’ve got a question to Truckmaster. I’ve got a 17 l5p and I want to swap in manifolds but I don’t want the egr riser on it. I am tuned and deleted and have up pipes. I was wondering if you knew or anyone know if lml manifolds would work as a replacement?

    @truck master does anyone make manifolds for the L5P without the EGR as my truck has lost that already?

      Not sure but I think they have blocker plates for the passenger side

    AMAZING and you also have to wonder why the engineers never did this at the factory.

      The reason why is because they are optimizing the use of those parts for different applications and options you can get on these trucks. If you can use the same part on twenty configurations, you can save a pile of money not only on the part but also on tooling at the assembly plant level.

      They need to make money off of replacement parts. Make the truck too good and that won't happen, so they make it good enough. That's my guess.

    Id love to see how far an l5p can get pushed while being emissions compliant.

      You can push far, it's just not going to reliable and it's going to regen everyday

    You should have got the truck on the dyno before and after.
