    I've always had great luck using those square extractors to extract broken off plumbing fittings and nipples. They bite better than the spiral type do. Glad you finally got that out!

    Man I’m glad everything went back together good. If you’re like me I’m lost when my truck is down. That was a real smart move changing that connector wow you had it tore apart. That very well may have saved you some heartache out on the road at some point. Hope you and your family has a merry Christmas. Stay safe Bud

    Your persistence paid off. Good work. For what it’s worth, I always put anti seize on any bolt going into aluminum now. Some guys say I shouldn’t, but I’ve never regretted it.

      I did, caint remember if i said it in the video but every bolt i took out got anti seize when i put it back

      Why did you go with PPE vs Factory studs and nuts?

    • @CFarmer
      @CFarmer  ปีที่แล้ว

      I was already on their website looking at the manifold and up pipes and it seems like everything i try to get from gm has a wait. I just saw them there and clicked the button. No real reason.

    Glad to see you got it broke off extractor is about as bad as it gets with that job. Real happy to see you got it. I was thinking, so I’ve never used them type of but connectors you think there’s any way the heat in that location could melt the solder and come loose.

    • @CFarmer
      @CFarmer  ปีที่แล้ว

      I hope not, i wish i would've had the crimp style with me never using those on a connector like that before. I would've liked to have experimented with one that was easier to get at but I'll if it doesn't work out there will be a video, lol... I've been using them quite a bit and they haven't let me down so far

    AWESOME job..... I was just thinking/reading up on these: $1,300.... PPE HIGH FLOW EXHAUST MANIFOLDS WITH UP-PIPES 17-22 DURAMAX L5P. Not sure if it's worth the money to upgrade before I hit 100k miles on my 22, I heard that's when you start having issues.... Still got to run that CA load with you guys once darn load board gets better!

    You ever get the impression that metal drills, extractors, taps are defective from the get go. Xray them all, have metallurgy analysis, put the magnet on them for "hardness". Keep the old ones because they are not making them like they used too. The quality control is none existent.

    • @CFarmer
      @CFarmer  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I agree, they're not making anything like they used to
