I’ll guarantee that oil sludge buildup was from driving the Duramax to and from the grocery store (grandma style). The Duramax truck is for towing and work. When you drive hardly above an idle, you’ll have that buildup. I’ve got 140000 miles on my stock 2006 and fell for that EGR cooler and EGR valve buildup. My EGR had minimal soot and my EGR cooler was clean. I’ve towed a 40 foot trailer cross country 4 times and that truck has been flawless. If you want a tune, go with Banks Power. It’s CARB rated and minimal install.

For my pcv reroute, Amazon, 2 in and 1 out catch can mounted on the firewall. Tubing cutter on the stock pcv fittings and about 6 feet rubber hose, 6 hose clamps. The out goes back into the turbo which after the catch can has no oil at all.

For some reason I didn't want to bend or cut that heat shield on top of the turbo and I was able to do the entire job just moving it forward and out of my when accessing the back of the turbo. Re bolted it in after the job was done. A fairly insignificant part of this job, but something I did do...

I’m throwing a intake heater code now 🤦🏼♂️. My truck came deleted so I don’t have the EGR code to deal with. Now I have to find out how to time the heater code out.
Getting ready to do the pvc re route today, just watching the video to make sure I’m doing it right. Question, the tune I have turned off the EGR, doing the delete won’t throw codes if the EGR motor is unplugged? My motor is still active from what the tuner told me

Dang! I cannot delete my EGR valve/cooler on my 06 LBZ since I'd never pass the smog test here in CA, so I'm gonna upgrade with a Bullet Proof cooler and a new EGR (OEM) valve. Right now, I'm only getting a few lbs of boost and PO101 and PO299 codes. I looked for boot disconnections and found it on the cold side Mishimoto intercooler that goes to the EGR intake horn. Unfortunately, I'm going to need help with the boot re-attachment. Thanks!
What do you northern guys use for penetrating oil? Out of the three of the last five jobs that I’ve done, those 12 point nuts fail or the studs break off, and yes I even had it where it’s taken me almost a complete day to just loosen and carefully back out the hardware. I use PB blaster and hot wrench. Good stuff as always, man. Any word on backroad Diesel?

i took mine out and mine has a EGR temperature sensor code how can i fix that

it’s better to go full ybridge but this is a great option for easy install. The ybridge is a tough install

The full ybridge won’t leak air
This won't leak as long as it's installed correctly and stock turbo. This works great unless you do aftermarket turbo and push more than 35psi boost.

Don’t you need to tune the truck with removing all of those wiring harness sensors ect.
