    a much cheaper option would be the mouth test, put mouth over exhaust and you can taste the mixture and adjust from there, its quite a reliable method.

    Now that these sets are discontinued, I found all the parts separately for the "no weld" method this kit contained. However, I'm concerned about the insert you put into the exhaust. Would having such a thing permanently protruding inside the exhaust have any ill effect performance at all? I'm not experienced enough to know.

    Can you actually ride a little with this installed so that you get readings under load? I know the gauge isn’t a permanent installation, but I’d be interested if I can do a few short runs in the mid range, and WOT.

  • @peterjones6945
    @peterjones6945 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I'm pretty sure you should have tested under load as no load conditions will usually show rich mixtures. It may lean out to where it's good but also could lean out more than you want? Steady state cruise is another issue. I think it's a real good diagnostic tool but doesn't completely replace a dyno run

    • @RollingWrench
      @RollingWrench  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      O ya! I definitely tested while riding. This was just for demonstration purposes. Agree with you. A Dyno is a better tool. But the price of a dyno and the space it takes up, a wideband is a incredible solution.
