  • Here is a lovely deep face persimmon driver with 6 screws! This is a fun club that I look forward to hitting often.
Vector shafts were available in all the woods but they also used Apex shafts as well. Just to clarify. My statement in the video was not clear.

I used to work for the Ben Hogan distributor (France) in the early 80’s. At the time the Ben Hogan clubs were da bomb along with Ping Eye 2 irons. and McGregor drivers.
I kept a pristine set of persimmon woods and Medallion irons on Apex shaft (Vector shaft’s efficiency was debatable), Medallion putter and a tour professional bag. It is now vintage but still beautiful!

I use the Ben Hogan Speed slots, driver, three wood, and five wood. Paired with a set of Wilson Staffs from the same period with a one iron, which is one of my favorite clubs. I will say, I can hit the Ben Hogans every bit of 220 yards. I might be able to push out a few more yards from newer clubs, but I just love mine. They are iconoclastic, and simply my favorites!

I love those woods. I have a set from either later or earlier, and i can, when I'm in good practice, hit that driver every bit as far as my modem Callaway Razr Fit driver

I have the 3, 4, and 5 with the Speed Slot in laminated persimmon but my driver is a McGregor Jack Nicholas in solid blonde persimmon. BH Forged Axis Edge in 4, 5, 7, 8 & E and McGregor Tour Staff 9 & S. Here's something you'd love John H. Mahoney putter. I would love to add a picture it is magical. Owned one in the early 80s and it took forever to find another. 40,000 putters returned on my ebay search and boom, there it was at the top! Kismet

Pining persimmon woods made it easier for the hosel to split. It happened to me more than once back in the day. Still, I loved them, but they didn't go very high.

Love that model Hogan driver. I also have that same one that's super mint. I've only hit a few with it.. Nice swing and nice shots... you have good fundamentals.

I have a driver like that. Discovered it when my dad passed. Any idea when that was made?
