I struggled with getting the bezzle installed - afraid that I would break it. I found that pressing down on the upper tabs as I pushed it in helped a lot.
Great video i just replaced it on my silverado but it came out not straight the handle, how can i fix it or what steps do i need to do to put the handle straight?
+Estevan Biggs Thanks for checking us out! Yes, we do offer just the tailgate rod clips. I have provided a link below, please let us know if you have any further questions, thank you! www.1aauto.com/chevy-gmc-tailgate-handle-rod-clip-pair/i/1adrk00128
I've had this assembly apart on my 2004 a couple of times, and loosening the 3 bolts holding the latch makes it easier to get the bezel in and out of the truck, then finish tightening everything down when done. I don't have a plastic tailgate liner hiding one of the bolts, so that would make it a bit fussier.

Thanks for the video! My tailgate is missing the old latch completely. Do you know what type of bolts I need to buy?
Does anyone make these latches out of metal?
I just watched the video and it only took 15-20 min. Thanks for the instructions.
Nice! Thank you
Is it always necessary to replace both bezel and handle if the bezel broke off?
