Love the tip of the auxiliary on the tank for the sprinter will definitely come back and check this out again when I get to the heater install. Awesome vid 🙏
Thanks heaps for exposing where the auxiliary out let was hiding! I had looked everywhere today on my Sprinter. I was about to make a tank out of 100mm PVC sewer pipe and strap it up under neath as there is heaps of room between the main tank and the LHS sliding door step..... now to buy some ramps 🤦♂️
No worries! Hopefully you can find the right connection for the top of the tank! We used that space between the fuel tank and sliding door for one of our water tanks
Well done video. I would move the muffler/silencer to protrude beyond the edge of the van and not trap CO underneath. It will infiltrate. The ramps looked a little sketchy for such a heavy vehicle also. But the tank drop video is very nicely documented. Did you ever find out what kind of fitting that requires? Never seen anything like it.
Thanks for the feedback and concern. The ramps have actually had extra reinforcing added. Will look at the exhaust but would be very surprised if exhaust gasses were infiltrating. Never looked into the fitting again after the install. The one I thought it was meant to be from the research I did was a Dorman quick connector so must be something very similar. This was the one I ordered: amzn.to/3lBqafW
Can you tell me what year your sprinter is. Mine is a MWB 2013 and the floor under the seat isn't flat. Apart from being corrugated, it also slopes on an angle from front to back. I haven't seen any others like mine in any videos as yet. Surely mine can't be the only one like this. I imagine the heater needs to be installed on a flat level surface?? Thanks for your very informative video.
We have a 2008 518 sprinter. Weird that floor is sloped on yours 🤔 we had a few corrugations but there was enough flat area for the part that mounts to the floor

Thank you! Yeah the auxiliary port definitely made it easier. If you can get the right fitting it would be even easier 😅
very detailed! really thankful to see this!
Nice video and install mates! Good details. Thanks!🤙
Cheers mate!
Thanks so much for the detailed video it’s much appreciated
No worries!
Have a nice holiday❤ from germany Henning
Thanks Henning ❤️

Good idea if you run a 1 way valve off the line in the tank.never drop line pressure from the heater
She's a lucky lady ;)
This was a great video, very useful, many thanks for sharing.
But recommend using protective thin gloves when fiddling with all that diesel..
Thanks 🙏
Yeah I probably should have!

@@brookandjulius ok. Thanks for the info 😊
The exhaust gets quite warm. Any issues with the exhaust and the factory undercoating?
We haven’t had any issues with it
Might be a silly question, but when the fuel tank is reinstalled do you have to bleed the fuel line to the engine?
Not a silly question at all. We didn’t prime it or bleed it, just let it prime when we turned the ignition on and had no issues
Hey can you install my diesel heater in the sprinter ?
No can do sorry! It’s a relatively straightforward install, but I’m sure a caravan or van builder could do it for you
That looks like a 5kw heater not 2
Might look like one, but it’s definitely a 2
Gloves 😂
In hindsight, yeah that would have been ideal…
