INSTALLING A DIESEL HEATER in My Van Was a GAME CHANGER | VAN LIFE

After converting my van 13 years ago, I finally install a Chinese diesel heater (LAVANER PRO) in my mercedes sprinter camper van. It was a total game changer! Stay cozy and warm on your van adventures with this easy installation. I did not tap into the vans fuel tank. I opted for a remote fuel tank...... will i live to regret it?

Just dismantled one today for a friend, was not starting only smoke, dead easy to take apart long nose pliers works to get the glow plug undone, this one had shiny carbon everywhere, cleaned most with screwdriver flat various pics and files and a new wire brush, scrape all you can with screwdriver, get the wire brush inside, then used a small file to go between fins, pick the gauze out this was the worst affected area a chain saw file in the hole works fine avoiding the threads, blow all out with airline, just waiting for new gaskets and gauze. will update.

If your buying a diesel heater try to buy in the summer , I bought a Hcalory 8kw in mid summer paid £70 free delivery, now same heater on sale everywhere for £225, nice profit for those who stored them. My advice get a Bluetooth model so much more convenient to work from your phone .

I havent done mine yet, but watched lots of vidoes on it, most people replace that white pipe - but i hear you say .. thats what you got so your using it for now. Great video as always

A lot of them come with a green fuel line which is terrible. The white stuff isn’t the worst.

Great how to video buddy. I would like to fit one of those heaters but don’t have a leisure battery so do you think it’ll be ok to fit to the main vehicle battery?

Thanks Steve. You could connect it to the vehicle battery but you would need to have the vehicle running as the heater takes a big draw of amps for its initial start up. Best to get a Leisure battery and a battery to battery charger I reckon.

It was really just because I wanted to run it on red diesel. Which is a good 50p a litre cheaper than the white.

Sadly red diesel has been restricted. My hubby has been removing it from places of work. Greedy government wanting more tax off us all!
