Woolies "I got used to it" nonsense is just bringing me right back to his current computer gaming setup. Like good for you for getting used to it, but that doesnt make it a good controller.
I remember riding my bike to the Toys r us when it came out. I started playing the in-store demo of some Sonic game and I don't think I lasted 10 minutes before I said "Yeah I've had enough of this terrible controller forever"
I only knew like 2 kids in school who had Dreamcasts, but all of their friends would play it at their houses and would go on for ages at school about how cool it was.
Those same type of kids are still everywhere on the internet and just as insufferable as they were back then. It applies to every single Sega system other than the Genesis.
The games I've currently played most on the Dreamcast are Virtual-On: Oratorio Tangram, Gundam Side Story 0079: Rise From The Ashes, and Frame Gride (a mech fighting game similar to Armored Core with a fantasy design element to the mechs).
Grandia II Phantasy Star Online Ikaruga MVC2 DOA2 Sonic Adventure 2 Crazy Taxi Shenmue I and II Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver AND FUCKING GAROU: MARK OF THE WOLVES WHO GIVES A SHIT ABOUT HOW JANK THE CONTROLLER WAS?!?! THAT SHIT HAD SOME GODDAMN TOP-NOTCH GAMES!
I never had issues as a kid with the Dreamcast's odd shape and button layout ...but handling my old controller now... oh yeah this D-pad is slippery as hell. I never ever had to use it in the games I played, yet I agree completely that it feels disgustingly imprecise.
I really don't understand the controller issue. For me the best way to play Capcom vs SNK and Alpha 3 is with it. It's true that the analog's plastic is slippery but i use a leather strip super-glued to the top of it for ultimate grip. I don't use D-pads for 2D fighters...Even on its general use the D-pad feels better than the negative-space design of the Dual-Shock's D-pad (for me).The only flaw is that it misses a second analog. Games like Headhunter could've had free aim , and hence, better death animations and deeper system all-around.
10 games why Sega Dreamcast is BETTER than Sega Saturn, Sony PlayStation, Nintendo 64, & Sony PlayStation 2: Arcade Ports: SoulCalibur, Marvel Vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes, Power Stone 2, & Crazy Taxi Dreamcast Originals: Sonic Adventure, Resident Evil Code: Veronica, Jet Grind Radio, Skies of Arcadia, Phantasy Star Online, & Shenmue
How dare Liam trash talk Phantasy Star, that's the one of the best Sega IPs ever. What about Shenmue? Got a super disappointing third game, that was only exclusive to PS4 and the Epic store, eventually to Steam, what a trash legacy. Shenmue 1 and 2 aren't even that good to begin with, Ryo is so robotic, the voice acting is god-awful, Gui Zhang abandons you halfway through the 70 man battle and the game is ruined by Gollum, and that's just Shenmue 1. Shenmue 2 has so many more interesting characters but I'm stuck playing as Ryo.
"And the analog stick.... And the buttons.... And the trigger... And the shape!" Pat is the best!
Really? My analog stick is loose as fuck lol
james small

I actually had to buy a third party controller that FELT GOOD.
@@decepticonmecha Retro Fighters I assume?
@@DemonicDevilDiran Yes.
That's me with the N64 controller
It's 2nd nature to me how to hold it
Playing Dreamcast games with a PlayStation 4 controller is better than sex.
I have only ever seen a Dreamcast in pictures.
4:30 Before the dark ages of bios codes, thanks vimm and your lair
the arguments FOR the dreamcast fall apart because all the good games got re-released for the ps2 and gamecube.
Pretty much. That and it had no idea what it wanted to be. It was a shit console regardless.
It wanted to be everything and ended up being none of those things.
except for alien front online, canon spike, and soda drinking simulator '99 (also known as Shenmue)
It's a shame that Canon Spike never got released, it looked cool.
doomzillaX25 Trust me, it is. Best 120 dollars I ever spent.
i've never even seen a dreamcast in my life
there's two things that the GameCube has that the Dreamcast will never have
chibi robo
and
cubivores
That and the superior version of Sonic Adventure 1&2

If Liam was still around for the gameboy sucks discussion he would have sided with Woolie
And he'd probably have enough to point to to actually make a compelling point
I agree Woolie, I loved the Dreamcast. :') But that d-pad though.....
Analog triggers are superior to buttons. Also, Elemental Gimmick Gear is really good.
I only knew like 2 kids in school who had Dreamcasts, but all of their friends would play it at their houses and would go on for ages at school about how cool it was.
Sam Rader I feel like everyone knew those few kids lol.
Those same type of kids are still everywhere on the internet and just as insufferable as they were back then. It applies to every single Sega system other than the Genesis.
I had a dreamcast and played Ceazy Taxi and Super Magnetic Neo. Good times
dreamcast mini when? powerstone, berserk, MvC, SF3

I imagine Liam's dreamcast games have disc rot by now, collecting for the console by now isn't a good investment
Grandia II
Phantasy Star Online
Ikaruga
MVC2
DOA2
Sonic Adventure 2
Crazy Taxi
Shenmue I and II
Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver
AND FUCKING
GAROU: MARK OF THE WOLVES
WHO GIVES A SHIT ABOUT HOW JANK THE CONTROLLER WAS?!?!
THAT SHIT HAD SOME GODDAMN TOP-NOTCH GAMES!
Jefferey Waldrip But if the ps2 and xbox had the same games then it has nohung else
Original X-Box controllers had it's problems as well.
PS2 controllers are obviously the best of the era, but that's a given.
And that's leaving out Skies of Arcadia, Alien Front Online and Canon Spike.
Jefferey Waldrip I'd agree with you on the PS2 controllers if we lived in a universe where the godlike GameCube controller never existed.
Sonic Adventure 2 doesn't help your argument. XD

I've been hearing people going back and forth about which version of Capcom vs. SNK 2 is better; Dreamcast or PS2. What exactly are the differences?
One is arcade perfect.
PlayStation 2 >>> Dreamcast
Li-Li Mandragon Dreamcast > PSP
Fair enough
RE4 any console >>>>> RE5 PS3 XBOX PC
The PS2 gave us specifically God of War 1 and 2, PoP Sands of Time, FFX, and Shadow of the Colossus so you're right.
Undebatable
I recommend emulating a game called conflict zone, and also ignore the mid reviews lol
What about the Steam controller?
Um how do you play dreamcast without the actual controller? It's how you save, there's slots for memory cards so how do you save otherwise?
Cruise World was THAT RACING GAME lol
funnily enough, almost everything woolie says is wrong. for instance, capcom vs snk pro was never ported to the dreamcast, and was only ported to ps1.

People played Monster Hunter without the Claw? My hands just assume the position as best they can on my DS.
Famygdala only people who are used to fighters ;) Fast fingers lol
Have a great day everybody ;)
The claw is the only way I played lol I learned to with mh1 and much. Never used the cstick
Sorry but the OG Xbox LARGE controller and the N64 controller were FAR worst than Dreamcasts awkward trash, it comes in Bronze at best.

The Dreamcast fucking sucks.
