It sounds like a milk float. That said, the parking trick is useful if people have parked so close to you that you can't get even open the door. Someone did that to me once in a hotel car park. One cold and frosty morning I found my car (E39) boxed in on both sides. It was a real struggle to get in, but once I got in and I could drive away, I left the twerp a nice little doodle in the dirt on their side window.
Rory great video, will see how it M60 compares to proper M5 Touring that is coming and the Audi A6 E-tron Avant. Keep up with great work bringing us car reviews 😊❤❤
One guy I know used to say that there are two happy days in the life of a person. One is the day you buy a BMW and the other is the day you sell that BMW. Also, I love it when people say "Oh, FSD is not ready, yet" and then when they hope into a BMW and use cruise control they say "It lets the car drive itself without any interaction from me whatsoever". That's hilarious!
Nice Video Rory! Love the car, be good to see a comparison between a base spec new 5 series touring and this, be about 50k difference between the two cars!
Finally a normal EV car and not a stupid SUV which is really not a design for an EV since it eats battery. I can see myself upgrading my model 3 LG to this i5.
Nice to see an estate BEV at last. No need to go to Audi for the fire breathing petrol variant as the M5 is on its way. Want something cheaper? 3 series touring is great and will probably become available in BEV form at some point in the near future (I3 Touring?). It is still a while until the mandated ICE cull so don’t wish them away too soon - and who says BEV is here to stay anyway?
Just took my 2017 530d in on a recall for the driver airbag and used the time to thoroughly look at all the cars in the showroom and they had an i5 touring in there. Sat in the drivers seat, lovely car as is my 530d but obviously this has the electronic stuff. I needed to put my glasses on to see everything (don’t need them in my 530d) but I would be ok with that. Anyway, I set the seat up for me (I’m 6’ or 183cm) then I sat the back. Total show stopper! Because of the raised floor to accommodate the batteries my knees were just about in my mouth - it was just awful! Could never buy one of these and for now i will be sticking with my beautiful and solidly made 530d.
Got to say, BMW for my money - are making the best looking and stylish cars of modern times. Minus points though, for a touring that only does 200 miles on a full charge. Thats not 'touring', thats 'day out'.

Bmw is just the best
For 100k, the Tesla model S offers higher performance, better range, better infotainment, more standard equipment and more efficiency but only left hand drive.
well a well matured Macallan whisky is also more expensive than 80% Stroh Rum which will get you drunk faster...
That Expressive sound to the accelerator sounds a lot like the THX Loading Screen.
Large battery? 81kwh is just a tad more than you get on a model 3 which costs less than half of this.... Given the price it should have at least 100kwh, if not 120kwh even.
100kw would have been better. Maybe the next version will get 100kw so people upgrade
I have the auto lane change when indicating on my iX, not the look left to move though - that looks cool 👍🏻
Problem is ..I’m a Beamer fan but… BMW just depreciate faster than a melting ice cream. Just look up the listing price of any EUR 180.000-225000 car and then compare it to an one year old 7.000 km car. It will probably depreciated by 60-75K in one year.
All German cars depreciate fast for some reason
@@SaintWillz Never heard of Porsche. Some non-rebadged audi models hold value well.
My dream car
Looking at this, I appreciate my weird G32 even more :) Just did a 5500km Germany-Norway round trip and it was a blast. With this i5 I would have spent more time to charge :)
The touring is much much better than the saloon
No alpina version to come I bet! Shame that electrification has done this 😕
Alpina will become a trimlevel
that car look so good and the grill was also fine but why did they but the autonomous sensor bang in the middle dude, that's the only bad thing abt this card
The Porsche Taycan CT is was a first premium estate EV.
6:42 why'd they bother installing the indicator stalks?
It sounds like a milk float. That said, the parking trick is useful if people have parked so close to you that you can't get even open the door. Someone did that to me once in a hotel car park. One cold and frosty morning I found my car (E39) boxed in on both sides. It was a real struggle to get in, but once I got in and I could drive away, I left the twerp a nice little doodle in the dirt on their side window.
Is this coming to America??
Take a guess.
No, the M5 touring will.
Tokyo Car Seats 😍😍 i love when i sew tokyo car seats for bmw cars its a thicker leather and it goes so well 😍
Rory great video, will see how it M60 compares to proper M5 Touring that is coming and the Audi A6 E-tron Avant.
Brilliant Presentation, as usual!
Should have taken this one round the track 🏁
Incredibly beautiful! ❤❤❤
Nice Video Rory! Love the car, be good to see a comparison between a base spec new 5 series touring and this, be about 50k difference between the two cars!
The car looks great !!!
What about a 3 series touring BHEV??
What about it ? Does about 19 miles on electric. And then gets crap mpg on petrol and has a 45L tank. Cost £1 on a pre pay meter for that 19 miles.
Finally a normal EV car and not a stupid SUV which is really not a design for an EV since it eats battery. I can see myself upgrading my model 3 LG to this i5.
I would be more interested to see the ICE 5 Series estate review!!
A true gem on wheels
Wonder how much the petrol version will be. I'm not convinced by EV's yet, but I'm even less convinced by the pricing of current BMW's.
A Peugeot e308 se hace more cargo space than this being smaller. Why Big cars have less space? I don't understand it
Why is it bigger than the last one?
Cheers Rory
It's beautiful, distinctive, you don't have to convince me, I would order it this very moment if I could.
It's BEV or hybrid or nothing. The rulers don't care if we have to walk every where.
How has a 5 series side car got a smaller estate boot than a seat Leon estate.
Pricing is totally crazy and why does every car need to be bigger than the previous one?
RS6 will go against the 2025 M5 Touring and not the I5 Touring.
