Man what did you do st the start? How did you transform the cube to a low poly sphere?
Might be a bit late, but you take a cube and subdivide/smooth it a few times to get this result. Works well to get spheres with quads :>
Even later but the exact tool he used is the smooth tool, if you can't find it press ctrl f and search smooth
Please do more tutorials. I had issues after the head getting the body to coil. Also had issues trying to get the fin in either side of head to look right, real and life like.

I do wish we could see your outliner list as your cheating. Could you also show how you would create the UVS?
Just curious would rigging this model be a bit tricky as snake is not in straight line?
i wondered that too but i think if you use a straight line instead of the curve then pose after rigging it could make it easier
