Absolutely would look great with Christmas fabrics! I also have quite a bit of Christmas prints left over from last year so…….😁😁😁. I love precuts but I purchased a 10” square ruler from MSQC to have when I want to cut my own layer cakes!!!
Great idea! And for me, the name will tie in dual purpose for my future SIL - retired air force, plus soon will live on starbase working for Elon Musk!!!
@@marywiggins7411 Congratulations to your SIL! I make a lot of Quilts of Valor, so I'm always on the lookout for military designs - boats, planes, stars, eagles, anchors, flags, etc. I wonder if Elon Musk would like to learn how to make a quilt. He would probably want to redesign the sewing machine; maybe make one that works in space. ;)
Right?! I'm sick of the constant special rulers from all quilt designers. As if quilting isn't already an expensive hobby. I love simple but effective... plus I'm lazy lol.
Beautiful and creative block!! In your first step where you stack the two 10 inch squares together, then cut into 2 1/2 strips, if you stack the 2 squares together with right sides together, they will be ready to sew. You can eliminate the step to match your strips to sew. I just love this block! ❤️
I just watched this video again for the first time since It first came out. I commented at that time and I just have to say that I love this entire video. I appreciate your intelligence when designing quilts and how well you explain the small tips and tricks to make this beautiful quilt successfully. I remember thinking over the years, that I wish you had your own teaching segment that highlighted your own designs. I am so happy that you finally get to shine and share your knowledge, designs, and humor with us on a regular basis. I miss your mom, but you are fabulous in your own right.
Natalie! This is exactly what I've been looking for. I have a selection of Kaffe Fassett fabric put aside and my head is a misty blur of ideas that just won't crystallize. It'll look quite different - large dramatic floral for the background, with a selection of his Aboriginal Dots and dark spots for the stars and accent. I'll need to make a test block to be certain the stars aren't lost in the background. You clever. inspiring woman, I am going to sleep tonight with the growing excitement of a new quilt. Thank you, thank you. Thank you!❤
Thanks a million for providing the written dimensions and material needed at the beginning. Well organized and carefully orchestrated, Natalie! Your ideas are always so creative!
Natalie, you are such a great teacher. I love star patterns and this one is spectacular. And, May I say, you look beautiful and your love and enthusiasm radiate. Thank you so much for bringing us this tutorial.
I have always enjoyed your tutorials. I still remember the first one I watched. You were explaining left over batting how to put it together to make another usable piece.
Thanks so much, Natalie! Love the colors! With your clear directions this block looks like it's doable for me. Thanks for being so patient and going step-by-step with your directions, so it's easy to follow. Blessings to you!
Well - OK - just watching Natalie do those diamonds and I’m feeling so much better😁😁. I can do this!!! I was fearing they would be cut separately but I should have just trusted MSQC to not do that!!! Pattern is in my basket!
I am so happy! Natalie was cutting a 4 inch square from a 4 inch strip. The first square, she cut it a little long, then turned it around and did a clean cut. Thats ingenious. I always do my clean cut at the ends of a long strip. Her method would be so much easier. Thank you, Natalie!
Thank you Natalie! What a beautiful quilt and a fun lesson. I marvel at your creativity and appreciate you sharing all of the tips and tricks you have learned along the way that make hard things easy. I am looking forward to tuning into your next project tutorial. ✨
Thank you for your wonderful tutorial. You have made a very complex looking block achievable. Maybe I will try it starting with one block for a pillowcase.
Natalie you make it look so easy and I can tell how much you just love what you do. You are a pleasure to watch and your patterns are lovely. This one is especially a winner and I will give it a try. Thank you.
I'm always so happy when a new'Natalie' video pops up! I so enjoy watching your work and am ever blown away by the quilts you come up with. This quilt is gorgeous! You clever woman you. I look forward to seeing this quilt. Really, really well done❤
Thank you, Natalie for another beautiful quilt. I absolutely love your designs. I am excited to make this quilt. Have a beautiful and blessed day. Thank you again.
The star flight is the most beautiful quilt I have ever seen! I am not usually attracted to 'pointy' quilts but I absolutely LOVE this one. Thank you, Natalie, for sharing this fabulous quilt. Your tutorial was so helpful so I saved it for quick reference. Wish me luck!
It looks complicated but I think making one or two will set the stage for making the rest easily. LOVE the fabrics and you did a great demo job Natalie! LOVE large block quilts.
Would never have guessed how to put together by examining block as I like to do. Looked very complicated in til you taught us how. You are such a super teacher, Glad you share your tips and tricks. I hope Missouri Star stays with us forever.
I love it and you look amazing Natalie. I only sew by hand and feel as if I need everything to be perfect but I love it when you say it t doesn't have to be perfect. I'm working on a qayg king att the moment. I know you will think I'm crazy but I am really happy with it. I love Missouri star videos. I watch them every night especially the triple play when everything is so different. Keep up the good work everyone
I really love stars of any kind and this is an awesome pattern. Directions was simple to follow but I still had problems joining the diamond. Thank you.
I love this pattern and fabric. I was thinking how cute it would be in autumn and winter colors!! And if the blocks were smaller.. the possibilities are endless!! Thank you Natalie! Thanks for the tips!! ❤❤
Hi Natalie, initially I pretty this torturous aside, thinking that's a bit in the too hard basket for me, but watching it now, I realise how easy you made it look! Thankyou so much for the easy instructions and little bits of advice to make it easier. I feel like I really can do this without too much stress 😊. Cheers and Merry Christmas to you all. 😎😁
Hi Natalie, that fabric line is very appealing! 💖 The soft ( how it reads on screen) Kona colour background, pretty. Love the block and quilt size. Tyfs💗
Reminds me of Ruby McKims "Dove in the Window" block pattern. This is a confusing one for me. I drew out the shapes for every step...! The demonstrated quarter block puts it all into perspective.! Wondering how many 10" squares you used overall Natalie? I guess I have to count them up! I count 36 of the 42 are used!
The block does really look difficult to assemble, but you've made it pretty darned easy! Thanks for a great tutorial and a beautiful quilt. Thanks so much.
Oh, everyone keeps saying Christmas and I just remembered I bought a cute Christmas layer cake!!!!! I love watching your videos. I’m working on the disappearing pinwheel right now.
Great job Natalie! Love this quilt! And thank you for sharing those tips sometimes I’m like what am I doing wrong with the pulling of feed dog .. thought I only had that problem ❤

Love this. You do excellent .
So am I the only one who can see this in scrappy Christmas fabrics with fussy cut cornerstones? And yes … I am pulling my fabrics … I can’t sleep. 😊
I went a little crazy with the post Christmas sales... your idea sounds great!
Absolutely would look great with Christmas fabrics! I also have quite a bit of Christmas prints left over from last year so…….😁😁😁. I love precuts but I purchased a 10” square ruler from MSQC to have when I want to cut my own layer cakes!!!
Great tutorial ! I love this pattern…… so many color ways Thank you ! ❤
This is so creative Natalie! I just love this block and can’t wait to try it!🌸

Such a lovely quilt! Thank you for keeping the Friday tutorials going.
The inner part of the star looks like a propeller. This would be great for someone in the Air Force or any pilot. Thanks, Natalie!
It would look great for all

Natalie, it's very relaxing to watch and listen to your tutorials. Your patterns are always stunning.
Great block that looks complex but does not even require any special rulers or tools! I love it ❤

You are so right l bought a pattern in the UK only to discover that it required you to purchase two special rulers that came to nearly sixty pounds.

Natalie you make quilting fun by making "it's ok if your points don't match perfectly." We quilters need lots of grace. You are an awesome teacher.
Natalie, you are such a great teacher. I love star patterns and this one is spectacular. And, May I say, you look beautiful and your love and enthusiasm radiate. Thank you so much for bringing us this tutorial.
