My girlfriend gave me the vintage blocks years ago. They sat in my closet as I just didn’t know what to do with them. I thought of Jenny and how she loves antique and vintage quilts so those blocks went to her. I am so happy they found a home and I couldn’t be more happy that Jenny did a tutorial. I sent this TH-cam to my girlfriend and she was so genuinely pleased! Thank you, Jenny, for your inspiration!
Well that’s really cool. But if you sent them to her ? She should have mentioned you shouldn’t she have ? That was a really nice thing you did. Didn’t she say she found them ?
When I saw the preview I didn't think I would care for the quilt, but it's really beautiful! I already have the orange peel template and I love applique, so this one's a keeper.
Jenny you do make applique look so easy I found for me to slow down and it comes out ok I haven't mastered it yet but I will . This block would be so cute in so many fabrics I think I will use a 30's layer cake I have . Thanks again Jenny It's getting so close to your leaving for Ron's Mission you will be missed. I wish you safe travel and Blessings on your journey !
I can't help but think of the person that made the vintage block and wonder if she/he ever thought it would be used in a TH-cam tutorial. :) Love the quilt, will have to add it to my "to do" list. Thank you for sharing another awesome tutorial.
I love the flower you made for the tutorial- less contrast between the petal colors, but still two different fabrics. My eye is drawn to the bottom left flower, too. A beautiful quilt, with gorgeous fabric!
Love the vintage flower. It would look so cute to embellish the wall hanging like you would a junk journal. With bits of lace, buttons, Rick rack, etc.
Thank you MSQC for including the block size with the information!! I’ve asked for that to be included for sometime since I like making pillows or smaller projects. It’s nice to know you listen to your customers!! I love watching your tutorials every Friday. It’s my ‘treat of the week’. Thanks again.
Hi Jenny! I made this same quilt pattern in 2008. It was the first quilt I ever made and I hand stitched around the whole thing. I didn't have a pattern, my sister and I had seen this block in a quilt at a quilt show and I just fell in love with it so I went on a wing and a prayer and devised my own pattern. It turned out just okay because I didn't put it on a big enough background square. I haven't quilted it yet but I really should finish it after 16 years, lol. I love your tutorials and your family! Thank you for your inspiration! ❤
I love those vintage blocks and your daisy quilt, but I will be using cotton thread instead of plastic/invisible thread. Thanks for loving old quilt blocks as so many of us do!
I love anything vintage and this quilt is no exception. I’m not very good at appliqué, so this quilt will be good practice for me. Thank you so much for this tutorial.
I have been intimidated by appliqué, but you make it look doable. Beautiful project. I thought of pillows with the vintage blocks. The wall hanging is adorable!
Making this for my beautiful bonus daughter. New to applique. Loving it so far, will do as qayg, don't have a long arm. Thanks MSQC and you Jenny for all the online support with your positivity.
I do love flower blocks! Haven’t done any appliqué yet, but am putting this one on my list! Edited to say thanks to Jenny for taking the apprehension out of quilting! ❤
Beautiful! I’m making quilts for each of my 4 granddaughters using vintage inspired blocks. Think this will be quilt #3. I prefer not to do hand turning of appliqué because I don’t feel it’s as durable. I do like to use a blanket stitch and a contrasting thread so it looks more “hand stitched” but to each his own.
Lovely, lovely quilt! Tip: I found that invisible thread needs a different tension. So carefully reset the tension bit by bit until you find it perfect for not breaking all the time…
I fold in half and in half but then I also fold corner to corner because I have to have them center n even, some blocks bother me too much so I have to do it that way
If I were to do this block, I would fuse the petals and do one continuous zigzag before adhering the stitching the circle. Seems it may be easier and more efficient. Of course I may be missing a critical reason that wouldn’t be a good idea. Just a suggestion I might try.
If you do the petals first you’d likely have some bulk that shows up under the center so you could see the stitching under it. You can do this as one continuous stitch (like a quilting stitch going around the outside of the petal then using the center for travel but doing it in two steps is probably easier.
@@settame1 even with the extra thickness of the fusible? Good observation, I would try anything in order to avoid fussing with stop and go. Alternatively, I think I would make it a long term project and hand work the appliqué. Nah! I’ve too much to do to do that. :):)
I ended up doing each petal with a blanket stitch, switching to a straight stitch to travel when they overlap. That worked really well. Using a glue stick instead of all of the fusing also worked well (I always irin the wrong side or use the wrong type of fusible and make a hot mess 😊)
I love this! And I have the perfect fabric I've been waiting to use for just the right quilt. I've been saving fabric with little flowers that are vintage inspired and this will look so cute. In addition, I have a vintage quilt from my grandma that is falling apart and I wasn't sure what to do with it. This will be so great. I'll have one from pieces of my grandma and one made by me. I will have to get some sew lite though. Thanks Jenny for the inspiration!
I made this years ago. I don't remember if I used fat quarters or gift fabric. But when I finished I didn't even have enough for scraps. I made a quilt this same size. I wish I had a picture of it.

@debbiebaldwin5161 Well, that's awesome. It's a shame she didn't mention who she got them from. Sure did inspire a fantastic tutorial! So thank you ❤️
What a great gift from you! I just failed to mention it in my comment.
Well that’s really cool. But if you sent them to her ? She should have mentioned you shouldn’t she have ? That was a really nice thing you did. Didn’t she say she found them ?
Love this ...I'm an old vintage girl ..love this pattern ..
I think 6 blocks with the addition of a border all around would have made an adorable baby quilt! ❤
So pretty! I'm envisioning sunflowers on a denim colored background in my future!
Love this!! Fun sewing because it doesn’t have to be so precise. This would be so cute as a sunflower for fall!!
Exactly what I was thinking! 🌻
Very pretty Jenny. I love your fabric choices
I love you, Jenny! You are so fun to watch.
I love vintage! Thanks to the person who donated the blocks to Jenny. And thanks Jenny for coming up with this lovely quilt 😊
Not much waste and I love that-I so appreciate your videos!
I really love this flower block, Jenny. You have such great ideas!❤

I need the pattern where can I buy the paper pattern we have very bad wifi and extremely poor service.
I love the flower you made for the tutorial- less contrast between the petal colors, but still two different fabrics. My eye is drawn to the bottom left flower, too. A beautiful quilt, with gorgeous fabric!
Love that you finished the vintage blocks. ❤
The six vintage blocks would be a great table runner😊
This is so cute! I think I’ll make it as a quilt-as-you-go quilt.
Beautiful line of fabrics. Thanks Jenny for sharing this free tutorial 🌷❤️
Wow! I absolutely love this! Gorgeous quilt! Its so fun!
I love this- can’t wait to try this with some floral fat quarters
Love this one. It would be a darling runner with 3 or 4 blocks. Thanks Jenny.
Absolutely love it. Jenny, you make it look so easy. I want to give it a try. Thank you for your detail and love of sewing.😊
❤❤ applique quilts. Thanks Jenny, you are an awesome instructor.
All the very best on your mission to West Africa. Take care.🇨🇦😊💕
I love quilts with flowers! Love it!😍

I love this old pattern, and I have the orange peel template! So cute.
I have been enjoying your tutorials for a long time. This is another must make. Thank you for sharing and making Fridays a funday!
I love those vintage blocks and your daisy quilt, but I will be using cotton thread instead of plastic/invisible thread. Thanks for loving old quilt blocks as so many of us do!
I see a lot of vintage daisy quilts being made, including one by me. 😊 Beautiful fabric.
Cute. I love this for a sit and sew idea. Hugs, Chel 🌸
I love anything vintage and this quilt is no exception. I’m not very good at appliqué, so this quilt will be good practice for me. Thank you so much for this tutorial.
Beautiful quilt! Thanks Jenny!
These blocks are beautiful thank you
Very pretty quilt with this fabric line!
Jenny you out done yourself. Beautiful I got to have it
LOVE this! I have the perfect fabric for this!
Cute pattern. I really like the small wall hanging.
Lovely Jenny. Thank you. Always enjoy every video MS makes.
Thank you so much for your positivity and love! You got me hooked on sewing years ago!
So cute! And I have all 3 sizes of the orange peel 😊😊 If I used the mini, I could make a mug rug!!
You could be crazy and add another flower between the larger ones where the 4 blocks meet.
@@settame1 Ooooooh!! Great idea!!
Thats really beautiful in that fabric line. ❤
I have been intimidated by appliqué, but you make it look doable. Beautiful project. I thought of pillows with the vintage blocks. The wall hanging is adorable!
I love the vintage daisy
A lovely and fun quilt. Thanks Jenny!

Looks like an easy one to do. Thanks for that idea.
I love applique! I also use invisible thread so I don't have to change colors all of the time.
REALLY fun blocks! I’m using 6” petals so I did some 8’s, then switched to 6’s. The hardest thing with sixes is getting them lined up evenly. SO fun
Thanks for sharing your inspiration for this quilt. Both are beautiful!
Love it… I have lots of vintage blocks I’ve found at yard sales! So cute & sew fun❤✅
Great idea to use my new template 😉 I bought that set of three for fishes, but love these blocks🎉 thank you!
This is adorable.
❤❤❤
To think these would be beautiful in batiks!
I love this quilt. Such a fun block. Thanks Jenny. You are the best! 💕🧵

I just love this quilt.
Really pretty quilt!
Would be a great quilt to use up your scraps!
Makes me smile
Good idea! You must have read my mind. Just this morning I was thinking that I had not done any applique in a while. I will give this pattern a try.
Não sei o que achou mais lindo: os tecidos, os acessórios ou os projetos. Que momento difícil!😂😂
I fold in half and in half but then I also fold corner to corner because I have to have them center n even, some blocks bother me too much so I have to do it that way
I was thinking the same only because of my OCD! I'm learning little by little to let things go, but sometimes I just can't. 😂
Beautiful quilt, thank you for sharing 😊
I adore this quilt! Jenny you’re brilliant!! I can’t wait to get started making mine!❤😊
I love this quilt!
Thanks jenny ,for sharing
Very pretty

I love the flowers. A great idea. Beautiful quilt.❤
Very nice! Love seeing vintage blocks.🙂
Thank you thank you so much for adding block size😊

Bought a small pair of MSQC scissors and they are heavenly. It's like your cutting butter❤
Absolutely Beautiful.
Amen!!! Thank you, Lord, for helping us. I love you and know that you will protect my money.
love it!

Lovely!
Beautiful can’t wait to make it
I think those blocks would look great with sun bonnet Sue blocks….hmmmm
I was thinking the same thing for a baby quilt!
@deeveegarcia3345 a sun bonnet Sue in the middle surrounded by these blocks would be the cutest baby girl quilt!!
I loved it well done
Beautiful quilt! ❤
This will be on my to do list!
I love this❤️
Just love all your videos!!!
You can make a couple of pillows for your bench with the remaining 2 blocks.😀
Very sweet. Thank you for the video 😊
I love it 🥰 what a great idea 💡
Really cute
I believe I'm going to double the size to make a big king-size! In red and white!
Love it
Beautiful ❤️
Another good one.
Love this!
