Dressing my Ring Distaff with Wool

Dressing my ring distaff with wool. I don’t tie as you might for flax on a large distaff because I don’t find it necessary and it would be more bothersome, I think, frequently untying or adjusting the tie-on. I also don’t predraft much, but with a thick braid it may be helpful to split the braid or pre-draft some. I still do most of my drafting as I spin, though. The distaff will hold more wool than this, but at a point it becomes unwieldy, so you just need to find what works for you.

Are these ring distaff's good for spinning flax or hemp ? Or just for the shorter staple fibers ?
