He will. His vibe is so calm, confident, and appealing; He has an extremely legit track-record; and lastly he is extremely clear, and precise in his coaching. He has the complete package for high value coaches, and the perfect platform to allow himself to become popular

I have always tried to mimic his switch kick....but the detail in this video makes it so much easier to understand and practice.
I didn't even notice the defensive step before since I was so focused of the execution of the kick.

Once i was watching buakaw training videos, after seeing him throw kicks for 10 mins something clicked in my brain and i went and threw a kick at my bag. That kick rattled my whole leg. I used to think i could kick pretty well but that day i realized it is nowhere near the level pros kick at.

I’ve found that it helps me most is to focus on getting my dominant planted foot to land earlier. I notice that often when I switch that my lead foot that I’m kicking with will want to land on ground first when I switch, even if it’s just by a fraction of a second, and that will slow down my kick. I don’t know if that’s just a me thing.

I haven't watched the whole vid yet. but id like to throw in another tip. you have two real options of kick trajectory. chopping (when you kick with an arc) or the "golden kick" where you throw your leg straight up along side the frame of your opponent and turn the hip at the very end. They each have their uses for example the chopping kick is very easy to see and takes longer to get there but usually people get more power out of it, the golden kick has no wind up and almost completely hidden comparatively but it feels to me at least, the weaker of the 2 kicks. Id like to state I don't think either one is the "better" option but they are both important options. I know there's an old expression about "the man who practices 1 kick 1 million times vs the man who practices a million different kicks once" but once you know your options and the situations each is better used in, then it all just becomes variations of the same kick.
good luck with your training and fights everyone

Well, this is incredibly close as how i learned to kick in karate, the difference is that we didnt want to move our shoulders or throw the arm back because we needed to keep the guard up (in case you dont know, we did this because in karate first point wins so its better to defend than to kick harder)

I wonder what impact on kick have your standing leg. Does it matter if it's straight or slightly bent? In theory with bent you should have better balance.

I enjoy your channel. However I don't understand why kick boxers absorb kicks instead of sliding back/sideways and countering with a kick (lead leg/back leg) that slides forward (as a force multiplier). As well, kick boxing techniques seem to start with the shoulders (and at best, the hips follow along). Why don't the hips lead the torso, as opposed to the shoulders ? Kicking power is generated through the hips. Or am I an Idiot ? And I don't understand the Tai-kickboxing turning(roundhouse) and front kick techiniques ? Why do they just lay out the kick with no recoil and wait for it to be caught and countered by skilled fighters ? Just asking.
