Thanks once again for sharing your hard-earned knowledge! I have been training from your videos for some time. I have transitioned from a traditional MA instructor to your humble online student. I feel more powerful and confident. I truly do. Thanks again!

Man I just feel lucky to be where I am at with the opportunities I have at my disposal. You my man are an inspiration and an amazing fighter and teacher. much appreciated for the content that you post it's easy to see you have been in the fire unlike the majority of the mcdojo instructors on here. If at all possible I was hoping you could do a vid on the TLC and rehab of the lower body as well as how to maintain flexible and avoid injury. I'm a decade into my martial arts studies and took a long vacay before going way too hard on my bag now my legs are on fire ha
Don't forget to mention the movement of the left hand that can make a pumping motion. And the movement of the shoulders. With the rear shoulder coming back.
Love watching your videos I learned a lot from them even get reminded all the stuff that I already know what is good for me I’m actually fighting the guy, Jamese Taylor that you have on the front of this video next weekend for a Kickboxing title in Oklahoma!!
Can you advise on good strength training for fighters utilizing weights? It seems like there's a lot of misinformation that certain things will slow you down but some is necessary to protect the joints?
Great content! What’s your take on throwing the kicking-side hand to the side of the body vs throwing horizontally and pointing towards the opponent? My former Thai coach and your vid showed the former but when gym I currently train at teaches the latter way.
Hey Gabriel, really great video as it seems all of yours are, I’m an amateur mma fighter looking for a bit of advice on toe injuries, what’s the best way to avoid them and also how long do you give for rest for a toe break, as I feel I may have rushed back into it too quickly now, In sparring any mis placed round kicks where the toes connect first I get a shooting pain up my foot and can’t put weight on it for a minute or so, thanks man
He should make a video about that. When broke my rigth toe it was fucked up for many years because a lot of the nerves was damaged so I could barely move my toe at all and had no strength in it.. I hurt my ankle once to and it took more than a year before I could walk normally it i couldt lift the front of my foot properly it was crazy annoying you should be careful with your feet /ankles and your spine those things tend to never heal back to how it was before it heals but can change you forever.
@@HeathenRides that’s how mine feels at the moment mate, if I land a kick now with the toe first I get an excruciating pain in my foot for a minute or so and almost can’t stand and definitely can’t defend myself properly. Wary of it happening in my 2nd fight. Fracture happened in sparring a few weeks after I won the first. I definitely think it’s nerves because my pain threshold on the other big toe/foot is fine if a kick is checked or lands on the elbow or something.
@@HeathenRides I put the exact same comment on an mma fighter Jeff chans video and his reply was basically don’t throw the teeps as much and let it rest until it stops hurting, but I don’t know if it’s still sore until I throw it 🤣
@@HBL500 only connect with your shin and heel its not important if your foot connect after the shin and just do Thai side /kick teep connect with the heel or entire foot until your toes have healed that teep is just meant to make your opponent fly backwards digging in with the toes just makes it weaker, if you push one of my sidekick videos you see I'm lifting the back with the blade of my foot and throw it backwards while it kinds of fold around my foot, it not exactly the same kick but it's possible to do that with both variants of the kick. Don't take any chances you want it to heal as fast as possible and then it needs to not get stressed bendt or curled.. Some instructiors will make you just continuing with full force straight on your injury, don't do it only you can feel what's wrong with your body parts and maybe you should take a xray just to be on the safe side
@@HeathenRides that’s some good advice thanks very much my friend I’ll take a look at some more variants of them kicks I’ve been using my lead leg for teep/push kicks just until the injured toe gets better and it’s just nowhere near as effective, some more taping and learning some more variants of kicks will help 👌
As an Australian, i find it very admirable that you are wearing a bintang singlet, i also find it very offensive that you have it inside out. Please refrain from such offenses or we will have to report you to the court of koalas for disciplinary action. Thank you
Can you make a video on muscle-building training but with combat sports as focus? I'm very skinny and recently started going to gym, have noticed a good result, but want to focus more on mma style training instead of bodybuilding, I want to be functional + aesthetic, not just one or the other, I'm learning combat sports for health and self defense not to compete, so I want guidance on combining both kinds of trainings
Don heatrick also. But don't overthink it. Just go for full body strength training (compound mouvement - deadlift, back squat, bench or DB press, pull up etc) twice a week and mix up some Pilates/yoga and you will see results
I would add the oblique kick to the most important in self defense type fighting. You don't see it much in kickboxing or Muay Thai, but it can be devastating for causing instant injury and immobility. Also it is a great interrupting technique. Obviously intentionally blowing someone's knee out is not for sport fighting.
@@cameronkazan1630 Yes it does, but not the same way as in life or death combat, and it is not as common as the round kick or front kick. In some sports fighting it isn't allowed at all. But it is perhaps the most important kick in life or death fighting.
