    wow, what great video! I just got used C63, and first thing I had to do is fix creaking noise from the sunroof. Got it all done following the steps here and car is like brand new, no nasty noises anymore! I was able to get away without removing rear seats and leave side panels alone, saved me a lot of work. I just slowly wiggled out rear portion of headliner, you have to be careful not to bend it, and don't force it, there are two plastic clips in the back, you need push headliner back and then pull forward. Thanks again, great tutorial!

      How were you able to remove the roof without removing the rear seats? I can get the back of the roof off unfortunately

    Thanks for this video man! Just got it done on my 2012 C63 Coupe, like another comment said I didn't have to remove any of the side/rear panels, just slowly slid the headliner out. All black bolts were already tight on mine but the 4 silver bolts were all loose!

      Awesome, glad to hear it was helpful! Such a silly issue for an otherwise solid car

    Nice job, reminds me of the job I had to do to fix my sunroof motor skipping and the sunroof not working on my w221 s63 AMG. (4 little rubber washers that wore out caused me 6 hours of work, replace them with metal ones to solve the issue permanently.) Can confirm that pulling everything out is heck of a lot worse than putting it back in, finding all the little tabs and screws was a pain!

    • @SamAbraham
      @SamAbraham  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! Doing that on a 221 just seems more painful, I'd imagine there are more wires along with other pieces to remove. Seems like every Mercedes generation has some sunroof issue I've noticed. Even the current ones I've been told. You feel my pain though 😂

    Thank you for this! It helped me a lot! My 2013 had a sliding plastic bar with hooks to pull forward to remove the upper rear panels by the back seats. The aluminum frame had also broken where the front larger screws are. I had to grind a fender washer square to hold tight at the front corners.

    Thanks so much for your vid on the sunroof rattle, it was so helpful pulling the headlining down on my 2013 c63 coupe , I just fixed mine , it was a lot of work but well wroth the effort , mine had the t30 on the front right was loose , but lock tight all of them . Thanks again

      So glad this was helpful. This was probably the most tedious job I've done on this car, interior work is one of my least favorite things to do lol. Seems like a dumb issue that MB will charge you thousands for, so glad this helped at least one person.

    This reminds of the rabbit hole I just went down when removing excess wiring from the C55 lol... I am removing the sunroof next to delete and stumbled upon your video while searching for w203 headliner removal. Wish I had dark headliner and pillars like yours! Maybe something I take care of while doing this mod.

    • @SamAbraham
      @SamAbraham  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hahaha yeah man its quite a pain, but I've seen friends literally use fabric spray paint on their grey headliners and you can't tell it was sprayed at all. Texture may be slightly off but its not something you really touch all the time so its not noticeable... May be better than buying black pieces, good luck with the C55 work!

    • @ANDERZENAMG
      @ANDERZENAMG 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SamAbraham yea I've considered all kinds of ideas. I have used the fabric spray on few pieces, it does work well but yea becomes a bit rough to touch. Would def be the easiest option though lol! Thx man!

    Wow, excellent video!! I have a problem with my sunroof on my c63 w204 2013. It won’t close and I’ve checked fuse. Is there a way of closing it manually? I’ve seen examples of this on other models. Thanks in advance

    • @SamAbraham
      @SamAbraham  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sedan with the normal sunroof or coupe with the pano roof like I have here? Does it try to close at all or does it not respond to the button? You may need to reset the sunroof by pressing the sunroof buttons in a specific combination. I can't remember what it is off the top of my head but I believe its in the owners manual as well as on forums

    • @LynxStarAuto
      @LynxStarAuto 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Drop the overhead control panel shown @3:38 in the video. With that removed, you will see the main drive motor. Pay attention it has a tiny hole on the middle. You can stick a long T25 torx bit in there and that is the manual override.

  • @EnzzV

    Great video, can you please explain in more detailes the steps to drop the rear of the headliner at 16:00 ?

    It took me so long to figure out where the rattle as coming from I thought it was the boot or the seats, finally found it in the roof!!!

  • @LynxStarAuto

    Ooof red locktite is overkill. Hopefully you never have to replace a broken guide rail. It's going to be hell to remove those bolts (will require heat). Blue loctite would suffice, or even the new orange loctite which provides relaxed fit.

    • @SamAbraham
      @SamAbraham  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just doing what the manufacturer says 🤷‍♂️ I've removed studs like these with red loctite before and it hasn't really been that bad, just required a breaker bar. Only had to use heat to remove my old flywheel once. Curious about the orange loctite though, hadn't heard of that until today

    Great video thank you for sharing. I'm going to do same fix sometime next week. I didn't get how exactly you removed the back part of headliner. At 16:05 you said pulled forward and push back to remove it? There are some clips or what is holding it there? Thank you.

    • @SamAbraham
      @SamAbraham  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah there are some metal clips if I remember correctly, so you have to pull the entire headliner toward the front of the car and then those clips release at the back of the headliner. To reinstall I just pressed them back in

      Id guess doors need to be wide open, and maybe even removing the front seats for more mobility.

  • @markandlew

    Have you had issues with the dash rattling as well, especially with lowering springs on these cars? I’ve installed front and rear strut bars, but not resolving the issues entirely. Thank you for this content!

    • @SamAbraham
      @SamAbraham  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Personally I haven’t had any dash rattling issues, although I did with my aftermarket screen. To solve that I used some felt tape used for furniture typically. Perhaps you could try this with the parts if your dash thar rattle?

  • @Phuong_Nguyen_

    Man I would be too scared to do this lol. But my sunroof opens and closes so slowly. Do you have a fix for that?

    • @SamAbraham
      @SamAbraham  ปีที่แล้ว

      If its just slow I'd imagine the rails need to be cleaned and regreased, unless the motor has become weak over time
