Steve Perry is my favorite singer of all time! He can duplicate the studio versions of songs better than just about any other singer!!
The instruments are different, his voice is not, from what I've always heard. Oh the radio edit, it's more of a natural piano lead than the electric here. Still niiiice.
I'm 57 so I saw Journey 4 times. Steve Perry had to change shirts all night. He was a dripping ball of sweat at the end of every show. He truly gave it his all every night. Most people described his voice as "Velvet". I like your music choices girl.

You need to listen to studio versions of journeys music to really appreciate all the subtle tones and nuances of their talents
My brother that was 2 years older than me that passed 3 years ago went to a Journey concert got a painter's hat from the concert and gave it to me. I miss him every day. Good choice.

There was a better recording (higher fidelity/quality) of this song at the Live in Houston Concert '81. This looks and sounds like it was recorded with a home video recorder. Still another great Perry performance, but the production capture was not its best.

A lot of reactors use the Live In Houston concert from this tour because it has the best sound quality, but I appreciate your doing these Tokyo versions. They did more improvising, and Steve is more soulful in these tracks. They always had fun in Japan. Here’s possibly the best performance of Journey I’ve ever seen.. this one is called “The Party’s Over/Hopelessly In Love”:

Amen, David! I alternate between watching the Houston '81 concert and the Tokyo '80 concert. I love the Tokyo version of "Loving' You Is Easy" and "Hopelessly in Love/The Party's Over." In those, Steve's voice is phenomenal as usual, but Steve Smith and Neal Schon on drums and guitar KILL IT!!!

This is my favorite song by JOURNEY. Heard it when I was 15 years old in the 80's. Then I got more in to them through the year's. Love this group. So many great song's. Love your REAL FEELING'S doing these reaction's BEAUTIFUL.

Dont get me wrong...they were always great live as previously stated...but studio stuff captures stuff that live stuff cant pickup...white Roadie over fifty. Worked on many many concerts in Detroit...ROCK CITY!

I like this concert better than the Houston video. Perry is much more reserved in his singing because he isn’t trying to broadcast as much.

66 years old and Journey was my first concert and I love every song they ever did. However to see someone as young as you have the same reaction as I did back in the 70s, brings such joy. I still listen to Journey/Steve Perry EVERYDAY. If you get chance check out foolish heart, a Steve Perry song

When their music is timeless , stirs the soul of multi-generations , JOURNEY , is such a band .
the guitarist has a few solo albums. theyre all instrumental. very excellent musician...Neal Schon, anyway the another song from Journey u might also like is "walking away from the edge" Steve Perry doesn't sing on this song but its still very good. I think u might like it. I think the singer's name is Steve Augeri. Hope u like it.
One of my favorite rock bands. Steve Perry is the best rock front man of all time. Listen to:

Lizzy if you haven't heard these already 3 Must listen to Journey songs #1 When you Love a Woman not Steve’s greatest vocal accomplishment but one of their best orchestra and all, #2 Why can’t this Night go on forever.. Just listen to it and you’ll want the song to go on forever I’ll guarantee lol, #3 and finally a real deep cut from the first Album Steve was on Infinity called Winds of March not one of their top sellers, but one of his greatest vocals you will ever hear, and only speaking for myself the note he hits in this song will blow your mind. All I’m going to say is “ONE BREATH”. After these three songs go crazy there just about all good from there so enjoy.
