MMo is good stuff. I remember as a kid this mechanic poured some into the spark plug holes of a motor that was seized up from rust. It sat in the junkyard for a very long time. Changed the oil and bad fuel, aired up the tires, pulled it with a tow rope and when it got up to about 30MPH had someone pop it into gear. Not only did the engine free itself it ran! Thinking about it now I'm amazed no piston rings where destroyed.

For anybody contemplating this idea, today I had a collapsed lifter on the way home. Poured in the Mystery fluid, and within 2 minutes, my truck was as quiet as can be. Vehicle I used this on, is a 1991 F-150 5.0l.

MMO is amazing and absolutely heard a difference and have seen it work in other vehicles as well. It will clean sticky lifters, VVT solenoids and get rid of carbon and sludge. I use it in my gas making my engine run smooth and gas even freed a stuck fuel float!

I added about 16 oz MMO to a neighbor’s 2011 Chevy Silverado 1500 and it quieted down the tapping noise of the hydraulic lifters within minutes. I personally didn’t think the tapping noise was all that bad to begin with, but my neighbor was SO HAPPY because the noise was driving him crazy.

I am a mechanic by trade and when I worked for an old company called Western Auto I had an 83 Oldsmobile Cutlass supreme that had all the lifters tapping. The parts guy Recommend Marvals Mystery Oil...I didn't expect much out of it...after all I tried everything else and nothing worked so I figured why not try this...after a week of driving the tapping stopped completely...I drove that car for 2 more years putting the Marvel's Mystery oil in it every oil change...when I had to remove the intake manifold due to a coolant leak the inside of the engine was surprisingly clean...no sludge build up and you could see the metal from the engine block which I have removed many intake manifolds and usually all you see is sludge build up...this was back in 1987 when the oil was just oil none of this high tech stuff we have now. I recommend it over the years to many customers and advise them to try Marvel's Mystery oil for any lifter tapping noise and it worked 100% of the time...I like to call it mechanic in a can

@Bobby Frags I agree oil has come a long way and so have engines. Tighter tolerances require better oil and filtration but some engines just want to be heard like lifters on GM and Ford there may be other manufactures with engine noise and other lubrication failure noise. I have a friend that works at a Mopar dealer as a heavy line tech that tells me all about engine failures but I have not looked at the part so I dont know if its a lube problem, bad design, or abuse by the customer but my point is engines make noise and want to be heard and in my case Marvals Mystery Oil by no means will fix a hard part failure

I have added a qt go MMO at each oil change since the 1960s, have has several with 200,000 plus miles, never lost a crank bearing or camshaft journal, the stuff is a legend because it works, doesn’t let sludge form. Regular oil changes also prevent sludge build up.

My BMW e60 530i clattered like a diesel. After I added MMO, the infamous BMW lifter tick was completely gone.
I had also added MMO to the fuel and when I revved the engine in the parking lot, I noticed that the tailpipe spat out a lot of carbon and after revving it for a few minutes, it was running clean.
The car has been running as good as new ever since.

I had a terrible surging problem with my 24 yr old Murray riding mower. The surging of the carb idle was so great that it effected power and the ability to mow. I added MMO to the fuel and also added it to the crankcase when I changed the oil. I mowed for 30 minutes and the surging disappeared, When I dropped the idle all the way down before shutting off the engine, the crazy thing idled beautifully, and very smoothly. I’m not sure but did I just reverse 20 yrs of age?? I’m Sold, this stuff will stay around here. Sea foam and carb cleaner never did squat , But this stuff took only 30 minutes to amaze me, WOW!!!

I had a sticking valve in my 1984 Jeep 4 cylinder engine, which was a remanufactured engine purchased from NAPA, I was using 10w40 oil
Valve started making a terrible noise, I tried a number of things, sea foam etc: Nothing worked, I ask an old dude that worked at parts store for many years,
His answer: You have two choices, MMM, if it does not work then, pull the head and have it rebuilt,
So I changed oil and filter, added synthetic oil and 1/2 qt mmm to oil and 1/2 qt mmm to fuel tank,
Started engine, noise was so loud I almost shut it off thinking the motor was about to blow,
Just as I was about to shut it off maybe 30 sec to a minute after starting it up the noise started to go away,
less and less noise, I took the Jeep for a short drive when I got back the noise was gone,
As in the video the noise came back a few times over the next year, but just for a short period like 30 seconds to a minute,
But as time when on, it never came back and that was 5 years ago or longer,
When I change the oil I use synthetic oil, mmm and the best oil filter they carry,
No more valve or lifter noise, might not work in all situations, but it worked on my old Jeep,

I am so lucky. Or so smart. I bought a 2001 Camry with 103K last year. Old man driven and I think it sat for more than year needing a timing belt before I got it. Clean perfect engine. Clean perfect transmission. The A104E with the 4 cyl uses Dexron II, not solely Dex III like everyone says. Just to help out, I do research things and I have concluded, in these older import models, use either Dex II, Dex III if you can get it (Mercon is Dex III) or multiimport transmission fluid. Valvoline and Castrol both make this kind of fluid. Mercon V and Dexron VI are back compatible but I have concluded, don't use them I will use all multimport when I drain and fill again. If you have T-IV, M-5 or D-6 back compatible in your import don't worry about it. But switch to multi-import when you flush or drain and fill. Admittedly off topic, but a lot of people own old imports with AT's. The higher viscosity petroleum fluids are better than the thinner synthetic blends.
Now on to topic. Many methods of flushing are possible. Usually, flushing is unnecessary but if you think you need it, do not fill with diesel or kerosene and run the engine. Better to put in low viscosity oil and an approved solvent (such as mystery oil) and let it idle for 20 mins, drain and fill with the recommended oil. Unless the engine is really, really bad, you don't need to do more than that. If you think the engine is still dirty, put in an approved (parts store) product, drive it for awhile and change the oil again.

I just picked up some of this marvel mystery oil today, and I found your video, I’m so happy for you that it made a huge difference with the noise
I’m hoping it can freeup some possible stuck cylinder rings for my car.
My car runs great, up to about 3000 RPM but after 4000 RPM doesn’t have much power after that, no acceleration to pass cars on the highway / I just found out that it has a lot of blow by pressure coming back up the dipstick tube- and puffs air out of the oil fill cap with the engine running- wish me luck, I really do think that this stuff will help. I’m gonna try it in the gas and the oil. 😎🏁👍

I believe your test. Not long ago I used a mechanics grade engine flush and then an additive (during a oil and filter change) to quiten a R32 GTR motor. It had a knock that sounded terminal and expensive, but by treating the engine it reduced the knock to where i had to strain to hear it. So they do work. I now have a Holden HSV R8 that uses some oil, and I believe I can reduce that with this additive too.

MMO fixed my timing chain tensioner issue in my 2006 Chevy HHR (At least in my case) My timing chain was making "some" noise, not really bad, but noticeable. The problem is when the tensioner gets sludge and sticks in causing slack on the chain. My guess is MMO cleaned out the sludge and the tensioner poped back out fixing the tension problem. Now its nice and quiet.

I had a 2.7L Chrysler V6 where it took over an hour to drain the oil out because the owner had cooked all the oil in it so badly. I did three oil/filter changes in a week with MMO, and saved it from going to the junkyard. The first oil came out so nasty it looked like Satan himself had whizzed in my drain pan. After the third oil change, the car ran like it was brand new, and those 2.7L engines are notorious for seizing due to sludge.

The sadness in the video above is that this test should have been run over a YEAR. Add it to your gas (4 oz per 10 gals of gas) and over a year you will begin to notice your car performance improve dramatically. I NEVER have used any additives in any car I ever own as I didn't believe in them. I am 70 years old and have had a lot of different performing cars. I currently have a 2008 Pontiac Solstice GXP (turbo) with GM sanctioned "GMPP" chips which steps the HP up to 340. After discovering the hard way that GM did NOT install the new chips correctly, I got them repaired. (took about 10 minutes with a soldering iron). The improvement in having THEM work correctly was beyond expectations. (it's a 4 cylinder roadster). I noticed a LOT of hesitation in acceleration. An old guy like me recommended Mystery Oil. I thought ... what the heck ... if it cleans my fuel system and keeps the gas tank clean I will be a happy camper. I am far beyond happy. It takes about a year to clean your entire fuel system. You won't notice for quite some time ... but slowly things will begin to improve. Idling speed, cruising speed, and general acceleration performance. The hesitation I once despised about the turbo acceleration is now HISTORY. I didn't take the car anywhere to have it tuned or checked or anything. Just the Mystery Oil. I am sold on this stuff. I am also religious about it. If you expect immediate results, you will be disappointed. If you are patient and do exactly what the instructions on the bottle say, you will be not only amazed but very happy you did it. Unlike the gentleman in this video, I have yet to try it in the Oil system. But I just might have to ... Mystery oil sells for about $4 a bottle @ Walmart. Quart bottles. You can get bigger if you want or have the need, depending on your driving mileage. Mostly? ... be patient and keep putting MO in ... you won't regret it.

I put marvel mystery oil in a 2008 LS 460 that had a ticking (noise lifter), It holds 9.1 quart of oil with filter I put in about 12 ounces and after a few minutes at idle it was definitely a little quieter. 😉 after a couple days & couple days of driving and sitting in the garage there is absolutely no ticking noise. The car had 90K on it when I put MMO in the crankcase and now I have 135K and haven’t used Marvel oil again and have never had any ticking noise. When I changed the oil after adding MMO that I it was black as diesel oil.
Again and the engine has absolutely know ticking noise got quieter and quieter until now there is no ticking noise whatsoever. However MMO did not decrease oil consumption as at approx 1200 miles I am always 1 qt. low.

My 07 Suburban had lifter problems, classic problem for Suburbans .. Marvel cleared the problem for me, tapping went away. Now I just add a small amount after every oil change and it does the trick. Problem is not many people floor these engines to kick out the sludge and crap because of the design. Make sure to floor the truck on the highway and let it run through the gears at least once a week. This will pull that sludge crap out instead of collecting on the lifters. The Marvel does the trick, but your lifter problem sounds pretty bad.

+Peter S No problem. Input is always welcomed. I made the video for people who are in rough times and can't afford a costly repair or replacement. Many don't have the knowledge or tools to do the repair and with used vehicles being more popular than ever it doesn't hurt to give the MMO a try. It made a believer out of me.
Plus dealerships use kerosene, atf, MMO as well to get rid of knocking sounds in the lifters. But atf and kerosene can only run in your vehicle for about 20 minutes before you have to replace the oil and filter.
I put MMO in my gas at every refill now as well.

Im glad the MMO worked for you! You can definitely hear the difference.
Ive used a quart of diesel, but like the kerosene, about 20mins, then drain the oil...
On the other hand, ATF can actually be added to the oil and be driven. It is very similiar to the MMO as its thin viscosity and gets into the oil passages easier than 5W or 10W oil... have a mechanic friend that recommends 1 quart of ATF with your oil, drive it for 100-300 miles, then drain oil and change filter, top up with fresh oil.
He says as long as theres no damaged parts, it usually takes away most ticking noises.
