I agree that the language is harmful, but they are using 'need' in a way that the word 'want' can't always replace. You could want a face lift at any age but at 20 years old with no loose or drooping skin, a face lift would be cosmetically unneccesary. Of course no cosmetic procedure is neccesary, but they are using the word 'need' to describe a procedure meant to address a legitamite cosmetic issue or concern rather than to simply alter the appearance. Perhaps when Meghan is old enough to 'need' a face lift (when she has any kind of cosmetic issue worth addressing) she may no longer want one. In this context I think "need" to her means restorative, reconstructive and antiaging procedures that address specific cosmetic issues like sagging, drooping, Asymmetry, volume loss, scarring or wrinkling; and "want" means alterations to change the appearance in a way they find appealing, rather than to a dress a specific issue or concern, such as implants and fillers used for enhancement rather than reconstructive or antiageing purposes, abdominal etching and tanning injections for example. ♡ I agree the language is harmful, and what is or isn't a cosmetic issue is up for debate, but at same time I feel it's a difficult topic to talk about so we have to take context into account. You raise an important point. I don't think she intended to make anyone feel as if a face life is something that is necessary to be beautiful, but words hold a lot of power.
What’s really sad about getting too much plastic surgery is that when and if you have children, they probably won’t look like their mother ( if it’s a daughter) . She’s traumatized by not having her nose contoured during an interview… that’s honestly really sad. Being in the public eye has to be terrible if it makes someone as beautiful as Megan that insecure about her image 😔
@@thirstaefortae5057 She is one of those people she wondered about in the beginning. The only difference is, she doesn't go online to put hate comments, but she surely is in the ocult.
Kylie has never talked about how her hips and a$$ have gone from a spaghetti stick shape to an hourglass either! Plus what she finally admitted to she had straight up lied about for years! She said she used 6 different colors on her lips instead of saying she had them filled and said she wore a pushup bra instead of admitting to breast augmentation!
I appreciate her openness about this topic even if it isn't any of our business at the end of the day. I hate when celebs lie about work they get done when they try to sell you beauty or skin care products.
The question is why is she getting any work done? She was blessed with natural beauty. Why are so many young women getting plastic surgery nowadays? That's a self image problem
I literally have seen many young women who get fillers in their cheeks and think they look good but all I see is a swollen face. we need to build self esteem in society, women look beautiful already when they choose all these procedures
Women are more judged on their appearance. Some places won't hire Women who don't fit the standards of beauty like modeling agencies and gentleman's clubs and bars and hostess potions and I can go on and on
I love how honest Megan Fox was about all this - even the gate-keeping - she's clearly done her research & is really happy with the choices she's made about what to get done & what to avoid & why + being a celebrity she'd have the inside scoops. She seems happy, confidant & unashamed - love that!
I personally believe it’s no one’s business to tell them what surgery they’ve had, HOWEVER with the rise of social media ( people editing their photos, using filters , Ai, and yes even plastic surgery) the beauty standard has been warped. We no longer see normal faces as pretty. We lost classic beauty. There is a sense of perpetuating these unrealistic standards when someone in the lime light doesn’t admit to their plastic surgery, but I feel that too comes from a place of insecurity. Also, what I’ve found out , a lot of times plastic surgery looks great in images, but in person, it can be uncanny valley if too much is done.
Well, but that's exactly why I think it's important for people in the public eye to be transparent about what they've had done because young girls are growing up to believe a fake (and unattainable for most) standard of beauty. It creates a lot of self-esteem issues. I'm all for cosmetic and plastic surgery, btw, and it's a personal choice.
i feel so bad for these kids nowadays. even if people haven't had work done, the photos they're posting most likely have filters on them and filters are more than just changing the color of the picture nowadays, they change your whole face now too.
I saying things like "Kylie has been transparent" really hurts her credibility because to be frank Kylie was essentially bullied into admitting any work at all and even then she seriously left a lot out. I kind of feel sad for Megan Fox because she was essentially the last sex symbol we ever had and now she looks so forgettable. She somehow felt pressure to look basic as hell. She's kind of kooky and shallow but doesn't seem like a bad person.
She’s not shallow at all, she has body dysmorphia she she’s very harsh on herself and doesn’t look basic. Also a lot of what Kylie has done just look like filler work with not much surgery done where I think most think she’s had all these procedures done.
I appreciate the transparency. I think we need more of this to show other women what's realistic & whst it takes to achieve a certain look. Also owning it is great, I dont think it's a terrible thing to tweak a thing here or there that you're uncomfortable with as long as you are just wanting to be the best version of yourself & not trying to look like someone else
Talking about making sure your surgeon is in a good state of mind - I always ask my surgeon before any surgery (and I've had a bunch - ex cancer and various cosmetic surgeries etc) if they've a) had a decent sleep, b) if they've had a decent breakfast and c) if they've had any alcohol or used any recreational drugs in the last 12 hours. Drs, when asked these questions, are always very taken aback and some are offended. To which I think - I don't care. Patients are asked all sorts of questions before a surgery, yet the patient isn't the one with the scalpel. Is it not setting the lowest bar possible just to ask the question? "Have you had any alcohol in the last 12 hours?" Isn't it just sensible to ask this? Why should I have to assume this man or woman who I barely know and to whom I am entrusting my body is reliable, responsible, committed to my well being, and has turned up in best possible physical condition? So I ask the questions.
Can we talk about how Meghan clearly wanted a larger butt so badly that she did all this research to find out about a bbl (and the recovery process), including (presumably) going to a surgeon to see if she'd be a candidate (and being told no because she didn't have enough fat), and yet we're supposed to buy that she didn't have and alternative to a bbl done? Such as what Kendall Jenner seemingly had done, which is large amounts of a denser filler injected into her butt and hips to create a more curvy figure. The fact that she went on and on about a bbl recovery just seemed to be deflecting from the fact that she DID have something else done instead.
Megan Fox is a prime example of ‘the company you keep.’ It’s very unfortunate, but I do hope she’s in a place to move on quickly from the people and relationships that have more or less blown up her self-perception. She was beautiful before, she’s beautiful now. But wish her some healing and better people!
She is actually gorgeous, she was just as beautiful before anything, and also after. She is definitely no pillow face at all. She looks the same as 10 years ago for a celebrity .
If she doesn't naturally have a lot of body fat, it's reasonable that she wouldn't need abdominal etching. It's likely she just had the best trainers money can buy. The exercise would show up more obviously due to the low body fat.
I appreciate celebrities/influencers who are honest about what cosmetic surgery procedures they've had done! Maybe the guys and gals online will STOP comparing non-shopped and non-surgically altered faces to ones that ARE.
I woke up during my wisdom tooth removal!! They were talking about their weekend plans and my first thought was “well that’s nice I hope they have a good weekend” and then panic set in bc I could see all the hands and tools around my mouth and I was like “how could they possibly fit all that in? What if I accidentally move my tongue and it gets sliced off??” So I started blinking to alert them I was awake and that was the last thing I remember until someone was shaking me awake bc I “took too long to wake up” like bro I know you had to give me more anesthesia bc I woke up but no one would listen to me they were like “oh that was a dream” why would I dream about that?? I was straight up gaslit by the oral surgeons and the anesthesiologist 😂 turns out it’s a hereditary thing! My dad comes out of anesthesia early too!
I woke up during a torn knee ligament surgery. They had to inject the thing into my spinal cord a second time. Literally all I remember is the intense pain from that second injection, and it must have been not just painful but distressing because it's been 10 years and that's all I remember of the whole thing. (Btw I don't recommend knee ligament surgery because it does not fucking fix your knees if they're genetically fucked up lol. Heard the same thing about elbows. I have big ass scars around my right knee now and the blood flow doesn't seem quite the same. My right knee is sllliiightly more purple than the left sometimes and I suspect that blood flow problem will come with complications down the line. My knee is still almost just as fragile, but weirdly more flexible than the one that wasn't operated on.)
My dentist said that during his training they were taught that people with red hair needed more anesthesia than other people. It’s in our dna. We process it faster.
If I were that afraid of dying under general anesthesia or had that bad of an experience with it, then I probably would forgo any kind of cosmetic surgery. Of course, everyone doesn't make the same decision with similar circumstances; but, it is interesting.
I loved her old nose; her new nose is pretty too. I’m glad she has tried her best to keep her safety in mind as to how many procedures she was willing to do.
I fully support patient privacy. The issues I have with some celebrities are 1) they are trying to sell us beauty and fashion products by either directly or indirectly using the benefits of plastic surgery or other forms of enhancement , 2) they vehemently deny any help from plastic surgery or other means and claim it is just genetics and hard work (ahem KK), and 3) they proactively push their status as influencers - literally using whatever mean to to influence young people minds and upholding unrealistic standards. I definitely do not need to know every medical intervention a celebrity has undergone. However, if they want to use their enhanced beauty to make money, sell their brands, and influence young people I think they should be open enough to admit that they have had external help - whether that be plastic surgery, filters & photoshop, or just buying really expensive nutrition, exercise and other interventions that are beyond the average person - it’s just false advertising, which if done by any other type of product would come under immense scrutiny.
It's amazing how all these female plastic surgery celebs look similar, even across racial lines. Kim started it and they all follow her now. There's a certain face template they all go for, using same mathematical angles, ratios, proportions.
Megan was perfectly beautiful BEFORE all the work-she clearly has changed her face and it was never needed. It’s super sad that now teens are asking for cosmetic procedures. Why can’t natural beauty normal? 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️
Doctor Gary don’t you dare let her get away with saying she’s only had one nose job. Please go look at her profile in her recent movie vs. her current profile. Her nose bump was shaved down and her tip was turned up. And there’s been a tiny bit of slimming otherwise.
Honestly, Megan’s humor is such a specific cup of tea. It hits mine but I understand why others find her offensive. But with the surgery aspect, I feel like she wasn’t 100% honest but to her point… People sre going to speculate otherwise soooooo yesh
There's a concept called lampshading used in writing where someone will bring up something problematic in a self-aware way to instill confidence in a situation. For example, making an eye roll worthy this is so sexist type of joke to demonstrate cognizance as a defense mechanism that in turn lets them make an out of fashion joke. In the case of women talking about some procedures, it seems like the same thing. Like, admitting to a couple of socially acceptable ones lets them off the hook.
I totally agree that celebrities are accountable to their followers. Megan Fox doesn’t promote weight loss or health and fitness. She should be open and she’s only telling us what she wants us to know. The semaglutides are an interesting situation. Oprah had people guessing for a while but even when she denied it at first, I really felt that she was taking them & lost respect for her because I felt she was being inauthentic. Lo and behold she came out and admitted it and then did a show on it. She got back a little redemption for coming clean but she still lost on her brand. Honestly, she had to come clean because she was invested in and was a spokesperson for Weight Watchers. There are office workers and people that know she was getting the injections, plus all of a sudden she loses weight. It was going to come out and she had to get ahead of it. I thought the special she did was biased because the physicians she had were paid speakers for Eli Lilly and Novo Nordisk. Where was the neutrality? Her show felt like a marketing push for semaglutides without having to be accountable in including fair balance. A very biased show which I felt was her way of justifying her actions. I’ve always loved Oprah but her moves around this subject have me losing respect for her.
@@jgunner94 it’s neither here nor there. If they are promoting weight loss or fitness, or even just making claims about their looks and how they got their, they definitely need to be forthcoming or they are being misleading. To say they are in this shape because they work out, and omitting the fact that they’ve had plastic surgery and taking semaglutides, then they are misleading their followers, even if they work out.
For me, it was the part where Megan Fox said she didn’t want to do one of the eye surgeries because it might interfere one day when she “needs a facelift”. Who needs a facelift? Why are we talking about these procedures as necessary and not learning to love our natural, aging faces?
I would be interested to hear you talk about what you do - like what is your protocol - if something does go wrong under anesthesia if you’re in a private clinic. Like do they call an ambulance? Do you do something to keep the patient alive in the interim? What are the protocols generally?
Interesting to watch! I think she's right that it's a no win scenario for her. Kylie's is slightly different as she spent the first few years lying about her lips as if no one could tell. It would be great to see you have celebrities come on to talk about procedures they have had or ones that they have questions about. I know in the UK Olivia Atwood done a series with ITV about cosmetic procedures. Honestly I think it'd be amazing to see her come on and talk about that/what she's learned and the difference between the UK/USA in terms of procedures and prevailance.
I find her honesty so refreshing, we live in a day and age where everything we see on SoMe is filtered, a snapshot caught in the perfect moment, an algorithm that only shows us the most beautiful people. Our view of whats real, and whats perfected for the camera, has been skewed.
I’m pretty certain the one she doesn’t wanna talk about is down south. A couple of my friends have had a tidy up of their labia after having children. Which is understandable why she might want to keep that private.
I know a few women who've had it due to tearing and discomfort caused from the damage. Its quite often done to improve quality of life as well as having a cosmetic benefit. I don't think I'd generally count that procedure as purely cosmetic.
I still think she had her cheeks done. They make her eyes look so much smaller. Still gorgeous though. I feel like people blow up her work that she's had done. Shes still a very beautiful woman and she's not unrecognizable at all to me
I didn’t know I was watching Megan Fox. She looks nothing like she use to. She’s definitely had several procedures done. Even though she didn’t need them. Crazy!
I think the pictures at the end looked heavy edit. People can still grow back their brows after plucking like mad. I have one clients who waxed her brows off and pencil them in. Now her brows are full naturally and stunning. It’s just the luck of the draw. I also believe that darker haired people have fuller brows naturally.
yes i have rly rly thick brows (im only 22 so maybe this will change) but ive been overplucking since 16. was plucking all my brow hairs out 2yrs ago for the shaved-brow look, then after a year of not touching them, they were back to like 70% thickness
@@kona3881 definitely and taking biotin and using and lash serums work really well. I specialise in brows and semi permanent makeup as well. I told my clients to use certain products and they really do work as long as you’re consistent x
I grew back my 2000s overplucked brows with just argan oil and patience. There are so many procedures out there that seem to be just a shortcut with complications when you could just as easily achieve it naturally with no complications. People are just impatient.
you are the most fascinating Dr. Gary around the word obviously, ist there a chance that you would offer also treatments in Europe? You are so much more transparent with all the risks, and really seem trustworthy

You seem like a good Dr. to go to. I wish you were in Los Angeles. I used to live in NY and don't want to go back, especially now. Maybe the future will change for the better.
I think the surgery that she's gatekeeping is something like vaginal reconstructive surgery. she's had like three kids. Even though you can't really tell by looking at her
Megan was naturally pretty damn great looking. With lots of people they get some tweaks, it looks great, then they go too far (normally with filler). It doesn't seem like she needed as much done as she's had.

She’s traumatized by not having her nose contoured during an interview… that’s honestly really sad. Being in the public eye has to be terrible if it makes someone as beautiful as Megan that insecure about her image 😔
Her BDD is very concerning coming from someone who also has suffered
It's especially sad knowing she's already had her nose done and feels the need to still contour
that's not real trauma and I'm tired of us devaluing important words like that.
I genuinely don’t think she’s joking about the omens and superstitions- but you’re generous for thinking so.

She's a witch. A very dark, powerful witch. She's public about it, so it would take a brainless drone to not know that.
Kaley Cuoco has been upfront about getting her nose done, breast implants, and botox.
I think everyone in Hollywood has had those exact procedures 😂
those are the ones celebrities tend to be more upfront about
I don't care about her surgeries but her Melodrama is borderline exhausting.
Ugh tell me about it

What you referring to specifically and why is that exhausting?

Dr. Gary, she is not joking about asking doctors if they've seen certain animals, dead insects, etc. Lol, she's...eccentric.
Yep she’s hella superstitious
That’s going to worsen as she ages unless she gets some psychiatric help. I’m being serious.

Because they're scrutinize so horribly imho.
Women are more judged on their appearance.
Some places won't hire Women who don't fit the standards of beauty like modeling agencies and gentleman's clubs and bars and hostess potions and I can go on and on
She has body dysmorphia so she’s really harsh on herself.
She has body dysmorphia which was propably fueled by her traumatic upbringing.
I love how honest Megan Fox was about all this - even the gate-keeping - she's clearly done her research & is really happy with the choices she's made about what to get done & what to avoid & why + being a celebrity she'd have the inside scoops. She seems happy, confidant & unashamed - love that!
I wouldn’t say she’s confident. She likely has body dysmorphia which is why she’s had all that work done and wants more.
I’d prefer if they say nothing at all.
Beauty standards never were realistic for majority of people. What it's even classic beauty?
i feel so bad for these kids nowadays. even if people haven't had work done, the photos they're posting most likely have filters on them and filters are more than just changing the color of the picture nowadays, they change your whole face now too.
I just dont get why they dont say when it’s obvious
I saying things like "Kylie has been transparent" really hurts her credibility because to be frank Kylie was essentially bullied into admitting any work at all and even then she seriously left a lot out.
I kind of feel sad for Megan Fox because she was essentially the last sex symbol we ever had and now she looks so forgettable. She somehow felt pressure to look basic as hell.
She's kind of kooky and shallow but doesn't seem like a bad person.
She's with MGK, who is a known predator and pedo, not sure I trust Megan to be a healthy person.
She’s not shallow at all, she has body dysmorphia she she’s very harsh on herself and doesn’t look basic. Also a lot of what Kylie has done just look like filler work with not much surgery done where I think most think she’s had all these procedures done.
Women shouldn't be seen as sex symbols though, it's reductive and objectifying
I don't think she wanted to be a sex symbol she was just pushed into that role
you seem like a bad person
I appreciate the transparency. I think we need more of this to show other women what's realistic & whst it takes to achieve a certain look. Also owning it is great, I dont think it's a terrible thing to tweak a thing here or there that you're uncomfortable with as long as you are just wanting to be the best version of yourself & not trying to look like someone else
It really, really never makes these ladies look better. Grow old gracefully chaps. Saying that, love this channel mate!
I love that
I guess if they are irresponsible enough to drink the evening before your surgery they will not have a problem with lying to you either.
Finally someone who can acknowledge she's still beautiful lol
Agreed 👏🏼 she was always beautiful naturally but yeah she’s still one of the most beautiful celebs out there currently imo
I think she looks horrible. She looks like a white Kim K. It destroyed her acting career
Please, could you provide analysis for some older folk like Julie Andrews or Helen Mirren? Thanks.
Julie has admitted to work but I don't think specific procedures
She has definitely had body work done. Most likely abdominal etching like most celebrities
If she doesn't naturally have a lot of body fat, it's reasonable that she wouldn't need abdominal etching. It's likely she just had the best trainers money can buy. The exercise would show up more obviously due to the low body fat.

And her pink hair IS natural!!! 😊
Interesting! Glad you were okay. Crazy they gaslit you
The lying would actually piss me off lol
As long as you didn't feel pain then it's fine, but the lying afterwards would bother me so much.
You might have Ehlers Danlos syndrome or some other sort of connective tissue disorder as that can cause early anesthetic dissipation.

She used to be my crush when I was at high school (around the time transformers came out). Looks like she is as smart as she is beautiful.
Megan was perfectly beautiful BEFORE all the work-she clearly has changed her face and it was never needed. It’s super sad that now teens are asking for cosmetic procedures. Why can’t natural beauty normal? 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️
Megan's eyes are so beautiful! I can relate to her fear of anesthesia.

Doctor Linkov, what microphone do you use? I like the sound. Warm, detailed but soothing. Like an old time radio sound. Thank you.
Megan was beautiful to begin with. I'm not sure why she had any surgery. I do like her personality! ❤😊
Does she need to promote those things? She’s just being open what she’s being accused of and she’s doesn’t need to do that either.
