  • The Strop Paddle has two pieces of organic buffalo leather on each side of paddle, and a high quality Ash wood base.
The Green Honing Compound it comes with is a extremely fine abrasive that has chromium oxide and aluminum oxide compound in a wax bar,
When You hone a knife all you're doing is bringing it back into alignment so there's a sharp edge again.
if you're using the grit side of your strap that has compound on it you are doing some sharpening of your blade
Once you go to the other side and you have nothing on here but the leather you are now stropping the blade to refine the edge
Does a great job of keeping my knives sharp.
I highly recommend it and would buy it again.

Good presentation and explanation! Very helpful that you make the distinction between the rough and smooth sides of the strop, and how to prepare and use each side. Most of the videos I've seen just gloss over this part and it's not clear "what" and "why" we should do it. Good job! Thanks!

I love making my own strops. They are good gifts too! this doesnt look like a bad strop, I just wanted to see it.

I have this same stop and it`s really good. However, I did use olive oil to clean it several times just to maintain, and the leather came off of the rough side. I`m pretty sure the olive oil eventually soaked in and got to the adhesive. I used the oil sparingly, but it still got to the adhesive. so, use just as little as necessary is my suggestion.

I thought that too and too much pressure on the blade. I've always been told very little pressure is best

Should of showed the dullness of the knife. Fire stropping it.. it would of made the video a little bit more interesting. Just some friendly advice..

I just don't like it when they cut the camera away after doing something and then come back at a different camera angle sometime later and show you they can cut paper.
