New fan of the show. I'm 6'0", 27 years old, and 113 KG. I've lost 30kg twice before with just cardio and cutting, but never could keep if off long term. I just started lifting, and I hope I can carry the habit through. Your show has been a great source of inspiration. grattitudes to you guys, and the production staff.

I was anorexic when I found mind pump. The first Jason Phillips episode and Jordan shallow episodes inspired me to gain weight. 70 pounds and a powerlifting meet later, I’m kicking ass and healthy again, and have been able to join the navy because I’m at a healthy weight

This is the best episode of Mind Pump that I ever seen since I followed you I followed you on TH-cam
It's really stressful and it's a long journey when you're dieting.
The amazing thing about this episode is that not only shows me what are my mistakes in my journey but also at the same time gives me motivation to push forward to accomplish my goals in the more realistic and balanced way because this process has to be at the end of the day something that you have to enjoy

My comment - been listening to the show for about 4 months now. Every day during lunch I watch the clips to get my mind off work and prepare myself for afternoon workout.
Listening to mind pump has not only changed my thought and led me to re think my training BUT also my fiancé. We have been together for 10 years, and she has maybe worked out 5 times during that (not good). I have tried talking to her about it multiple times but obviously, sore subject. I always have the pod going in the car and she enjoys the intro session when y’all are just shooting the shit so much, that she has started to listen and recently she has re thought her lifestyle and is now playing a MASSIVE emphasis on lifestyle, diet, and training. I’ve got a home gym and now she begs me to workout! Y’all have changed her outlook on working out and made her realize the important.
Thank you for all you do.

I can say that you are impacting me and how I attack my days to lay a solid foundation for me and my kids future. These episodes are changing my life and im finally leading by example rather than just saying it. I hope to one day talk to you all in person or on the podcast in sharing my journey and how I want to change the health and fitness industry.

Hello guys. I had a rough time last year and a half. Fallen off any discipline I had and I just tried to keep myself sane. I had lost 2 family members, I had stopped working out and started gaining weight(17kg or around 38 pounds.) and I was stuck with a job that I didn't like that much. I've always liked the Full Body workouts, so I recently started working out again, I'm not complaining, but it would be nice to have a more structured program. Anyhow, I am trying to be happy and to get back on track so thanks for these podcasts and continue with the great job. Wishing all the best to the comment section and to you guys.

I’ve recently started listening to you fellas and I’ve learned so much. I’m a novice and have hit a concrete wall in my weight/fat loss and lifting progression. Still watching food. Still consistently working out and lifting. But i feel like NOTHING is changing. It only took me about 100 times of hearing Adam say “we’re gonna add. We’re gonna eat more calories” to finally listen. 🤦🏼‍♀️ So here I go with adding some calories back in. 🤞🏻

Love the comments on taking small steps. I once heard a great perspective on this. Think of movies that deal with time travel. They all say the same thing "Don't change even the tiniest thing or it can have catastrophic changes on the future".....so why is we believe that changing a tiny thing in the past can drastically change the future, yet we don't believe making small changes in the present can also lead to drastic changes in the future.
    Really loving your content!

I've never looked at dieting as a weekly total, only ever daily... I'm a hard gainer, diet tends to be good Monday to Friday eating in a surplus but I always seem to fall off the wagon on the weekend and never hit my calories... This explains why I'm not gaining the weight I want haha cheers Blokes, top work aye!

  • @user-dy7yt8xi4o
    @user-dy7yt8xi4o 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Great tips as usual guys. Loving the addition of Jason in this conversation as well, you should invite him more often! Regarding the tips, you guys are absolutely correct on the tip regarding the 'falling of the wagon' when the weekend comes around. I've noticed that i'm way more likely to hit my goals when i've got my weekend diet in check. With that in mind, the current lockdown of my country (the Netherlands) is kind off a blessing in disguise since it has been impossible for me to eat out this january which definitely makes sticking to my diet easier.

I decided to track a few meals when I got curious. I saw real quick why I would hit plateaus. I mostly tracked for a year or so. I haven't been for a few months now, but if I eat a new meal, I will often track it to see what it looks like.

I watch your videos a lot and I have to say you guys have one of the best, if not the best, content that appeals a lot to me. This episode is a perfect example. I'm 50, about 188 lbs, started a low carb diet 3 years ago close to 200 lbs. Lost weight, went into 170s, I was thrilled. However, weight loss stalled, reversed to 188 now. I was doing low carb with intermittent fasting and usually omad. I couldn't explain it. I've been doing kettlebells, bodyweight work mostly. Want to drop body fat and muscle. Having a hard time especially with abdominal fat. I'm afraid this is exactly what's happened to me. Metabolic adaptation. Trying to figure out how to get out of this. Salman

  • @JeffBorn88

As a member of NCI, it was an honor to meet Sal and Adam during the Impact/Income live event. I had no idea that Adam was so knowledgeable with business. Sal of course dropped his knowledge bombs of wisdom that made the event priceless by itself. I personally believe MindPump has set the standard for the personal training industry, in the same way Paul Chek has changed the world with health restoration.
When I initially came across MIndPump's channel a few years ago, debunking common bench press and squat flaws, I was instantly hooked. These guys have never failed to impress me since. On top of having a channel that introduces experts with posture and mobility. All of this free to us viewers to soak in that you will NOT find in any college program. Just asking
for a few moments of your time to listen and take notes.
Lastly, I first became aware of Jason Phillips through the MindPump Channel. That was my gateway to become part of the NCI community. One of the best purchases I made in 2021. I'm now on my way to becoming a certified nutrition coach and started my business a few months ago with so many ideas of expansion to create value, or in the words of JP, to CREATE IMPACT

For me the big change involved a model where I get ahead of calorie deficit instead of trying to fix mistakes later.
If I know I have a day coming up where I know it would be easy to go over maintenance by a lot I will throw a super low calorie day (sometimes even a fast) in ahead of it. If I don't end up binging, its an extra bonus.

That was the first time I’ve heard of the four stages. It makes sense to me now. I’ve plateaued after losing 60 lbs since I finished playing college football, and looking at dieting like it’s a season, postseason, offseason, and postseason is a whole new way to approach it. I think that will help me as a former athlete stay engaged all year too. Thanks!

My personal trick is to over report my calories in the app I use. For example if I have 3 oz of salmon I record 4 oz. I'm cutting on 1800-1900 calories and try to hit that target even though I'm over recording because I know I will forget to add an item here and there so this method works for me

I had a white father who grew up with a father born in the late 20s lived through ww2 and was a butcher and a Korean mother who grew up poor in Korea. Those 2 things coupled together produced eating everything on your plate and the other putting more food on your plate when you cleared it. Me and my brother grew up over weight in our teens but not my sister. Why is that you ask? For some reason she got to eat in her room and rarely finished her plate whilst my brother and me had 2 full plates at times. But they say as an adult you can't blame anyone but yourself for your food habits. I kinda disagree.
