I want to thank you so much for sharing your journey! I found out I have MC a month ago. But still feel full and bloated with Budesonide. Was there a medicine for MC you wished you took at the beginning that you thought helped you more? Do you feel like going through the SIBO medicine helped or do you think the medicine for IBS helped?

You're so welcome! I'm glad you got a diagnosis. The Budesonide did work in that it stopped symptoms, but I had so many negative side effects that I stopped. It's a good question on SIBO. The Rifaximin (probably spelled wrong) was miraculous. The maintenance drug that has worked for me is Mesalamine (brand name Lialda), 1.2 grams/day. It's a usual treatment for IBD. I was also diagnosed with IBS and the hyoscyamine helped a ton too. I hope this helps!!!!

Thank you for all of your information. Do you think SIBO was the problem of the feeling full and bloated or was it IBS? I wish it was easier to find out what is causing the problems.

@@jaggrassmann Yeah, I hear you on that and I'm sorry you're in that spot. It was so, so hard to untangle what exactly was happening. I'm not sure what you've learned about SIBO, but it's hard to accurately test for *and* a lot of doctors won't actively pursue it. One thing that I tried before asking for a test was trying the SIBO-specific diet (thehealthygut.com/recipes/ has cookbooks that are amazing). I followed that for a long period of time and then re-introduced a bunch of foods on the don't list, and got a strong reaction.
In some ways I felt it was helpful to rule out diagnoses, as IBS is a syndrome and hard to "diagnose." I'm not sure if you've tried the low-FODMAP diet, but now that I seem to have a healthier bacterial balance (I assume no more SIBO) then the low-FODMAP diet has been very helpful for managing IBS.
Lots of avenues -- I hope you are able to get the support you need from your doctor to keep investigating and getting more answers.
