While I know it's a part of Legends now, I still like to weld Star Wars: Clone Wars in with Star Wars: The Clone Wars. It requires a little shifting about, but I still think it can work in unison with The Clone Wars and fill in some of the gaps left blank.

Speaking of Genndy Tartakovsky being super busy, I heard him confirm at a Q&A that, in 2004 (presumably during the production of his 2nd string of Clone Wars shorts) he was tasked with writing & directing the Astro Boy movie, but soon had some falling out with one of the older producers at Columbia.

So wait, is ERod going to discuss The Clone Wars series all at once next video, or is he going to split up the sixth and seventh seasons into their separate sections to address the production shack up that happened after Disney took over? Also, will he discuss the legacy content like the Son of Dathomir comic and the Dark Disciple novel, which were based on unfinished ClonecWars episodes that got adapted into other media after the initial cancelation? I guess we'll just have to see.

Though I know some very old school fans can see value in the animated bit of the Holiday Special (at least compared to the rest of it) and there is some nostalgic appreciation for Droids and Ewoks, I think we can universally agree that the original 2K3 Mico Series Clone Wars is the first totally agreed upon GOOD Star Wars TV series. As well as the first that gives what kids would want to see from Star Wars. Okay C3P0 and R2-D2 are popular characters but would you think of them just running around for a half hour of adventures as what you'd see in a Star Wars adventure? Or a tribe of alien teddy bear looking creatures going on adventures? Or like awesome bad ass light saber battles with all sorts of awesome jedi against the evil rise of nefarious dark forces orchestrated by Darth Sidious? That's what I would think of when going into Star Wars and yeah when the 2K3 series launched on Cartoon Network back in the day I ate it up and yeah it still holds up as some of the most epic and cool aciton pieces and bits not just in Star Wars history but in Cartoon Network's library... technically I guess it's now Disney but Yeah 2K3 Star Wars was originally a CN series (in fact the last CN series before the CN City Era though I still feel Megas XLR is the last Cartoon Network original of the powerhouse era but that's like a whole other tangent) and was just so epically cool. And though as Erod pointed out it was a project for hire for Genndy considering he was busy with other projects (though yeah with SJ going dormant after season 4 oddly enough Genndy didn't really wind up actually making really any shows in the 2000s. Helping direct and work on some projects that wound up going nowhere like Kogorth and having another failed pilot in the Cartoon Insisitute but nothing that again became it's own series until Sym Bionic Titan) it was his touch and style that was the basis of a lot of Star Wars animation going forward and again the first to successfully create that feel so major kudos there.
I can also attest as someone who loved the 2K3 clone wars the hatred of the CG aka 2K8 Clone Wars had when first announced from yeah that original movie to of course Ahoska Tano as a character. Like Erod wasn't exaggerating that she instantly became one of THE most hated Star Wars characters for awhile. Like honestly when I first watched the 2K8 season 1, I was one of the ones who hated her and really stopped watching after the first few episodes not really getting the show and though heard it improved thought it was "well ignore Ahoska everything else is great" before only later finding out when she returned in Rebels the character found a following. And yeah watching some later got. Granted she still got off on a bad first impression but unlike Jar Jar Binks that was also the POINT of the character. Not only as Erod pointed out someone to counter Anakin but because she was supposed to start out as very flawed and full of herself to be humbled and part of her own character progression that would play out in later episodes and seasons. I guess you can argue probably shouldn't annoy the audience with you first but obviously it did work with a lot of people who stuck with Clone Wars but yeah the hatred was there awhile ago. Heh then again Erod talks about the divide of how the prequel movies were seen even though as the blockbuster buster he was a feverent HATER of those films particularly episode one though yeah that anger and vitriol was a long long time ago. Though I think next week we're tapping a bit back into that anger with whatever Erod wants to riff on but still solid look back at these projects to again show how great Star Wars TV animation truly began.

I must have been in an Isolated part of the internet, as while my sects of it thought the Animated pilot movie was bad as a movie, we weren't blaming Asokha for it; not after it was already being recognized that Jake Lloyd as Anakin and Jar Jar weren't the breaking points over Episode 1 (something internet critics of the late 00's/early 2010's completely missed to revive the arguments over, great job breaking that) and the issue more lie in the Narrative serialization (I.e. Ep 1 being set up for the longer arc of the prequel-set era as opposed to loosely-related films as the original Trilogy had) presenting the first film ultimately as setup it wasn't immediately paying off. At worst the problem from our perspective was Asokha's nature of being a 'retcon into canon' character versus the Gendy Taratovsky series and Retcons in general just rarely being received well (As opposed to stuff that just clarifies context that acts consistent with prior material)...and part of that might've just come from the Clone Wars shorts just setting the bar VERY high and the first season of the CGI Clone Wars series nowhere meeting it; which might've lead...well, idiots, to the same Wrong conclusion as before in blaming the individual least responsible.
Like, we can argue the merits and failings of the sequel trilogy until we're blue in the face but at least there it can be agreed that the characters ended up widely mishandled so the viewpoint character that we are following the majority of the time is inevitably going to get the most Flack in the Cast; ergo why Rey Gets the hate she does, valid or no. Viewpoint characters often see that happen when they are placed in bad or flawed content or exist in series where their fandoms are media illiterate, even when they may be good characters. But the more one forces the content to revolve around them the worse it gets; the 'hate the viewpoint character for things I don't like not things they did wrong' issue is a long-standing one as well. This is NOT a Star Wars isolated thing.
Wheras with Lucas and Filoni Helmed content it's not as simple and singling out just one character or a small group of them to represent everything wrong is more egregious an error as the one blammed often did not play as large a part as accused to be the source of the problem. But then again media literacy across fandoms by this point was just awful and wasn't Star Wars Specific; their Toxic minority have always just been the more vocal and mean, with everyone else lumped into it and villified only working to cause even further backlash.

Only prob I really had with the early Clone War Toons was the TV level of CGI at the Time was still (to me) kind of rough to watch. It was getting better but not there yet. Still not there really unless they spend Ungodly amounts on it.

a big deal for me wad Asoka wasn't in episodes two or three. So you know she can't be aloud to live. Luke has to be the last jedi or none of the first trilogy makes sense. Every new jedi, Asoka, Star killer, Ezra , they all raise too many questions. We need to stop making jedi OCs. Imo the three I just named are worse then Rey. Of those three, Asoka is saved by leaving the order. star Trek Enterprise made the same mistakes.

Hey all you hardcore Nintendo fans out there, you guys should make a fan-made Super Mario Bros. stylized 2D animated series that acts like a long-lost title that was released several months after the franchise made it's big debut that's not only an must-watch masterpiece that we all didn't know we wanted it all along back then nor it's it's a loose adapation that's may not follow the game correct, but it'll still be an absolutely good funneomanl show to watch regardless and will make you forget Super Show ever came into existence in a single snap nor even would've gain an worldwide universal praise left, right and center to this very day for all the right reasons why, and that's saying a whole lot in the best possible way, nor even that's good funbelievably impressive experience that'll definitely make you don't want to this miss out in all the fun, but it's also the textbook example of easily THE top-tier greatest and both most phenomenal and impressively funbelievable must-watch masterpiece show we ever seen and we diehard Super Mario Bros. fans fans out there should've gotten it back then, period! It's call: Super Mario Bros: Adventures In Mario O Rama Land! and the quality of it needs to be such an indescribably phenomenal fun stylized spectacle to behold for all the right reasons why, especially compare to today's official Hollywood animation project standards, it'll genuinely make you believe you're actually watching an long-lost official Super Mario Bros. 1980's era stylized 2D animated series, period! Also, later on in this series Princess Miley (who's the Princess Daisy of this series and would've been the source of inspiration for said character in the first Super Mario Land video game for the original Game Boy itself back then) finally decides to start a lesbian relationship with the drop dead (family-friendly) indescribably sultry gorgeous and adventure at the ready Princess Peach and they both not only party out hard like it's 1999 at, easily hands down, one of the, if not, THE top-tier best and most spectacularly radical fun princess lesbian girls/drop dead (family-friendly) indescribably Maxim Magazine sexy gorgeous princess lesbian girls-only 24/7 Mario O Rama Land rave party and amusement park & arcade pier ever in existence, but then later on work there as well as rave party princess lesbian cage dancers too. You guys can also watch this show on both VHS and Laserdisc as well to make it feel like you're seriously right back the good old totally radical era of The 1980's itself all over again like no time has passed at all to you (not even for the slightest nanosecond), period!

While I like Ashoka and her development through the franchise, the only thing that bother me with her introduction (and this is just a nitpick) was her being Anakin padawan. It makes no sense since Anakin wasn't a master and one the reasons why he turns against the Jedi was because the Concil was refusing to give him this rank despite all his growth. I don't see why they couldn't have Ashoka being the padawan from another Jedi (maybe Plo Koon or Obi Wan) and still have her and Anakin bonding and having the "brother and little sister" dynamic they have on the show.
