It worked for the mini-series that the concept was introduced in, since he only attacks via ambush and when he gets bested it's via the force every time since he doesn't have a way to deal with that. It's outside of that mini-series where that tends to get overlooked and leads to cases like this where his actions make no sense. There are two different versions of General Greivous: - The Proud Warrior (became mechanized to try to be better than Jedi, wants to prove he is superior): this is the one that pulls this weird stuff like dueling Jedi 1 on 1 that would easily kill him, giving plenty of chances to get hit by force attacks, that sort of thing. - The Tactical Assassin (trained to kill Jedi by making use of their weaknesses and being unpredictable): This one still collects lightsabers, but more in the way that a hunter takes trophies rather than having a whole superiority complex, he gets clapped by Dooku regularly in order to train him. Still makes mistakes, but typically when thinking that the fear tactics is working when it isn't, and he gets punished hard for those mistakes. I don't think the character works with the proud warrior setup because like you mentioned he can just be magically destroyed from across the room by a skilled Jedi. But the assassin setup does work nicely because it's not something Jedi are prepared for generally.
I don't know seems kind of lame to me, Yoda is supposed to be the grandmaster of all the Jedi He should have just totally destroyed Grievous, know if ands or butts!
This battle was pretty poorly written tbh. Neither comabtive had any reason to hold back. Especially Greivies who im pretty sure has never used only one saber against anyone......ever. I know he's protected by plot armor until RoTS but the writer could have at least made a entertaining yet one sided duel.
I have a question about Revin (Darth Revin). Did Revin die because of the Dark Staff or did he flow into the force whilst taking of Valcorian aka Vitiate aka Tenabray?
Considering how many people died because of Grievous and how much destruction occurred because of Grievous, killing him would have been a necessity, not an option.
If Grevious cant even beat Dooku who even ran away from his former master when he was about to be overwhelmed. How could he even expect to win. Grevious was taught early that if he cant make them fear him during battle then he better flee, and i think in almost every case Grevious get defeated or pushed toward defeated by Jedi masters.
So Yoda could have saved dozens if not hundreds of Jedi by killing grievous but he didn't that seems like another mistake in a long line of mistakes by the Grand Master

Ok. I’m done with the idiocy of Grievous. Yoda lifted a ship in the movies, just years before he died. Yoda could’ve ended him with the force, right then. Done.
The speed and whatever fear crap, I’ve heard from people, that was written into a book, or after the prequels, in some episode of something, is dumb, and just shows more of how little Lucas actually thought about any of those things.
It worked for the mini-series that the concept was introduced in, since he only attacks via ambush and when he gets bested it's via the force every time since he doesn't have a way to deal with that. It's outside of that mini-series where that tends to get overlooked and leads to cases like this where his actions make no sense.
There are two different versions of General Greivous:
- The Proud Warrior (became mechanized to try to be better than Jedi, wants to prove he is superior): this is the one that pulls this weird stuff like dueling Jedi 1 on 1 that would easily kill him, giving plenty of chances to get hit by force attacks, that sort of thing.
Rule Nr.1: DONT CHALLENGE YODA TO A DUEL
Grievous is lucky that Master Yoda was merciful. Nuff said
Stupendous Waves new channel name is Stupendous W, I never knew Yoda fought Grevious, I only thought Mace, Obi Wan, and ext fought him?
He should have used claw rush so he would get 90% damage reduction.
It was like dog playing with a toy yoda could killed him anytime
Considering how many people died because of Grievous and how much destruction occurred because of Grievous, killing him would have been a necessity, not an option.
he did grievous dirty
Did I enjoy this issue?
I'd say it's my new favorite!!!
Also, nicely done how you brought it to life!
In my opinion, Yoda spared Grevious for just 1 reason - Grevious shows up in RoTS, so he simply cannot die here 😂
If Grevious cant even beat Dooku who even ran away from his former master when he was about to be overwhelmed. How could he even expect to win. Grevious was taught early that if he cant make them fear him during battle then he better flee, and i think in almost every case Grevious get defeated or pushed toward defeated by Jedi masters.
I’m not one of your archivists but I believe as it’s early in the war, gg didn’t have many lightsabers yet, why he only wielded one.
It's no surprise that Yoda defeated Grievous. Yoda the man.
And this isnt grievous of 2008, Disney using more the real grievous who confront the most powerful jedi master of his master
So Yoda could have saved dozens if not hundreds of Jedi by killing grievous but he didn't that seems like another mistake in a long line of mistakes by the Grand Master
Interesting story this was
I think grievous using only 1 lightsaber is a really smart move cause one hit to even yoda’s lightsaber would make yoda fly cause he basicall uses 4 strenght of his arms but the plot denied physics
So um what is the "Titan" aboout?
Okay but what was project titan?
Yoda should've cut off Grievous's arms and legs instead. It still wouldn't have killed Grievous, and it would've possibly broken his will.
This clearly isnt 2008, he dont run, this style is from 2003, i dont know Disney was doing but this is genious with old grievous, he fighting the most powerful jedi isnt 2008 style
Stupendous just to confirm are we getting that Ulic Qel Droma Bio and Power Scaling video in the same way you did Count Dooku, Satele Shan, and Arcann in previous videos sometime next month?

Yessir, we are, just been catching up on some comics before I do my full research.
@TheStupendousWave Excellent and it will be out by around August correct?
Is it possible that General Grevious only has 1 blade due to the fact that he had not killed the Jedi's of whom he stole their blades from????? Perhaps his collection was just beggining???? I could be wrong tho idk lol
Dueling Grievous is child’s play to Yoda
This is perfect! This is extremely stupid of Grievous. He is COMPLETELY out of his league with Yoda. Yoda would completely destroy him. He didn't want to kill him,to take a life just because he can. It was a lesson. Which Grievous refuse to learn. Great holocron. See you in the next one :) May the Force be with you too.
Except Grievous wasn't actually THAT stupid. Way out of character.
This is clearly 2003 grievous, the 2008 will not do that, fighting with the powerful most Jedi Disney reviving old grievous was surprised
@@viniciuscardoso8056 possibly
Still waiting for part 3 of what if order 66 failed
So what's Project Titan? He never said.
