Yeah! I remember the first teaser like in 2018 or so. I had this project in mind memories for a long time ago. It's amazing to see that it's finally here :D@@MrPsyJak
Keep in mind this was animated by one person. The actual movie had several hundred artists working on this same sequence. The fact that one person could do all of this and make it look as good as Revenge of the Sith is incredible to me.
clearly you need your eyes checked if you cant tell the diff between CG and Live Action. The original goal of this project was to look like the clone wars and give us basically a clone wars finale scene in the clone wars style. And WOW it did its job. Saying that it "looks like ep 3" is doing it a disservice. Instead you can recognize that it keeps that same fiery, sad, and angry anguish that ep3 had while also doing a great job of replicating the clone wars style of lightsaber dueling. It takes the medium of TCW and the scenes from EP3 and brings them together in a way that is beautiful and distinct.
Almost perfect, still a 10/10. If you included the part where Vader is asking about Padame it would have been, because in that scene vader realizes the consequences of his actions that he can never reverse. And he realizes he has lost not only his lover, but EVRYTHING
This is what we’ve been waiting for. Clone Wars animation is a masterpiece, and this video will bring peace, freedom, justice, and security to our new empire.

The addition of Anakin looking up with first hope and then with disappointment when Sidious comes to "rescue" him, like there was some part of him that still hoped it would be Obi-Wan, was a great choice!
To me it always looked like he just finally lost consciousness upon seeing his rescue. You can tell towards the end of the fight that both Anakin and Obiwan are exhausted, and everything else that happened to Anakin post fight, it's amazing he kept conscious long enough for Palpatine to get there.
Unlike the movie where Palpatine is trying to console him by sitting next to him, the version here looks down at him with disappointment that his promised apprentice has been rendered a burned up quadriplegic.
Not sure as in i dont remember the look he gave him in the movie, but from what i remember from the lore outside the movie, not only that palpatine did not care for anakyn, but even more, he was angry at him that his new addition to the dark side, the "choosen one" was beeten by someone such as obi. Even more so (and again i might be wrong because there is a lot of lore and probably versions of it) but i think he also designed the suit (not sure if it ws sideous or if it was anakins choice) in such a way that the suit will actually bring him conatant pain and torture with each step. I think even the heavy breathing is not due to his injuries (althouth they do add to it) but 8ts actually by sideous's design.
It hurts so much more to see the clone wars anakin turning to the dark side than the prequel anakin because you had so much more time to get to love him in clone wars

Although it doesn't make much sense. Ashoka never failed Anakin and in TCW Anakin never said or believed it. @@ysoserious8526 I think its more there to for what Obi wan says not how Anakin feels. And the final look of Anakin at the scene transition. It almost looks like small bit of regret and sadness
@@ysoserious8526 That dialogue is lifted from a deleted scene from an unfinished TCW episode (of the Crystal Crisis on Utapau arc), so Anakin was meant to have those feelings in canon at some point. However, in the full deleted conversation, Anakin oscillates between blaming the Council and blaming Ahsoka, so he's clearly not sure how he actually feels. Also, the fact that Anakin understood Ahsoka's decision doesn't necessarily mean that he supported it--he's clearly deeply hurt by it. The fact that he had repaired her lightsabers while she was gone also implies that he was always waiting for her to come back (i.e. was in denial about her leaving).

The fact that they did not have to animate the aftermath of the battle but DID ANYWAYS WITHOUT ANNOUNCING IT IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. PROPS TO EVERYONE INVOLVED!
Had Anakin killed Obi Wan, he would had killed Palpatine and rule the Empire, especially when Anakin can use the excuse to declare war on the crime syndicates and anyone that opposes his rule.
I think if Anakin had kept his body parts and survived then he will kill Palpatine and have him and Padmé, and their children be the new Royal family. Happily Ever After.
it's actually mind blowing that, despite the fact that this is animated that thus entirely able to depict sword-fighting skills beyond human comprehension, the actual actors were moving even faster than this. Really shows the dedication these Ewan and Hayden had to the craft.

Hayden and Ewan apparently practiced their choreography for HOURS and HOURS every single day. That’s why there’s no stunt doubles in any of the shots. There’s behind the scenes footage of them training for hours to get it right
Upon rewatching this, I noticed that when Anakin says, "You underestimate my power!" It's subtle, but you can see Anakin's eyes lose their blue color, symbolizing his turn to the sith completing itself.
He clearly did on the table, what are u on about, Anakin was just better in physical power and form, dominating the fight while his pnly downfall of the final was his arrogance and over-confidence and blinded by his emotions and conflcition. Obi-wan was getting massively overwhelmed and couldn't fight 1 on 1 any further or he'd be cut. He could never out dual Anakin @Zollbeamter-ot7pt
@@T1Top It was more of a 50/50 actually, Obi was initially overwhelmed, but he could adapt to Anakin´s fighting style deflecting the attacks and even equalizing a force push from the chosen one, as the fight went on, Obi got used to the pressure and Anakin kept making bad moves so eventually he got put down. And yeah the dark side completely ruined Anakin in this fight he went from beating Count Dooku to losing a overtime fight with his master that Obi believed he should´ve easily been able to overcome, simply because the dark side ruined his performance.
@T1Top except Anakin never beat Obi-Wan. He was always too impatient. Obi-Wan is the definitive master of defense. His fighting style will always beat those who try to overwhelm him. You can see it in this fight, the fight against Grevious contrasted against his fights with Dooku (especially in the Clone Wars). He beat Anakin and Grevious who were all about overwhelming power vs Dooku who he routinely lost against. Dooku was all about finesse and he knew Obi-Wan's offense was nowhere near his defense, so he always kept Obi-Wan on offense. He could do this because he was patient. This whole fight Anakin kept Obi-Wan in his strongest field, on the defense. It was one of his greatest failings as a jedi. He believed in being the best swordsman over developing his unrivaled potential in the force.
Phenomenal job! The level of detail in some scenes like seeing Vader's eyes behind his lenses looked straight out of TCW's peak animation years. Also loved seeing the parts of the fight absent from the movie during the Palpatine vs Yoda cutaways. Overall such a fantastic video!
3:25 I like how that moment where Anakin momentarily drops and then picks up his lightsaber midair was taken from unused choreography for Anakin’s duel with Dooku
@@senatorstevenarmstrong6703 The drop lightsaber and catch it with your other hand move, like she did in the throne room scene with Kylo. KK said that Rey thought of that move before she was even born, because Rey is the most powerful Jedi George Lucas ever invented.
I loved how this animation showed something most people missed from Darth Sidious when he finds Anakin/Vader burned. It can be seen as Sidious was visually angry because his perceived "all powerful" Sith apprentice was nearly killed by Obi Wan. Sidious was disappointed, and knew that he had no replacement at the moment since the Empire was literally just implemented as the governing body. He was stuck with a "damaged" weapon and as such he needed to use him as much as he could till he found another. Also, another thing that was missed that people never noticed. Obi Wan was as every bit as powerful as Anakin, the difference was age, and this also fueled Anakin's rage and jealousy towards Obi Wan. He saw him not just as trying to take Padme from him, but since Anakin was supposed to be the "Chosen One", he still could not beat Obi Wan, and this infuriated him internally and saw Obi Wan as a rival and a stepping stone. I think this hearkens back to the Attack of the Clones when Yoda says that the Prophecy could had been misread and Anakin's rant, blaming Obi Wan for everything. Anakin/Vader obsessed so much over Obi Wan that every time he thought that there was a mistake made by Luke, he was always readily verbally attacking/claiming as "Obi Wan's failure, Obi Wan's Mistake" and the such, even after Obi Wan himself told him "If you strike me down, you will make me so powerful that you could never imagine" (paraphrased) and still Vader obsessed with Obi Wan.
I remember how obsessed with TCW I was that I kept thinking up hypotheticals cause I was genuinely a fan of TCW… I wanted to see Pong Krell fight Grievous, Maul fight Dooku and Grievous, etc. But above all I wanted Season 8 to do Revenge of the Sith in TCW animation

I LOVE Matt’s delivery of “You underestimate my power”. So much anger, hatred, pain, and heartbreak. It’s like anakin is saying to Obi wan “All I ever did when I was your apprentice was to make you proud. You did this to me”
@helenwhs I've got to disagree on that, I definitely prefer Hayden's delivery of these lines compared to Matt's. And don't get me wrong, Matt Lanter delivered those lines very well, they just don't sound as good as when Hayden said them.
The details in Anakin's face starting at 1:37 are masterful additions to this entire scene. You can see the conflict as he's reflecting on everything he's done and how he did end up being a disappointment to Obi-Wan. The guilt of what he's done in order to achieve his goals is all over his expressions, but that all quickly fades away into anger as he refuses to believe what he's doing is wrong.
I agree, it 100% communicates this very well- that’s actually my problem with it as I remember in the movie (this was right after he choked Padme) he wasn’t of a clear mind in the slightest- he was already blinded by rage and feelings of betrayal- he gives his spiel about bringing peace and security to his empire because he also feels indignant like he’s too good for his loved ones who have betrayed him because he is only making the most noble decisions (of course he’s deeply lied to himself- but he’s fully immersed in his self deception at this moment and boiling with rage- not reminiscence nor introspection- he couldn’t be further from displaying that outwardly as he is actively repressing that)
The saddest part is, Obi-Wan still never believed Anakin had failed him. He saw it as the other way around. He went to sleep every night thinking of how he'd failed his friend
This concludes my heartbreak for Darth Vader. In my opinion, Clone Wars was the best thing that ever happened to Star Wars, because it gives us so much more time to love Anakin the Jedi, the Master of Ashoka, the Brother of Obi Wan. After coming to know him like that, Vader is both terrifying, shameful, and deeply saddening, knowing how far he has fallen. I never needed to see my beloved Clone Wars-style Anakin participate in this epic fight to feel the weight of it, but I see now that my understanding was…incomplete. This was soul crushing to witness. It breaks my heart in the best possible way, and for that you have my undying gratitude.
Absolutely incredible. The best part for me was 3:25, the homage to the deleted footage of Anakin vs Dooku where Dooku tried to cut off Anakin’s hands and Anakin briefly lets go of his saber to avoid it.
I love the details here. Obi-Wan’s robes get more singed and damaged as the duel goes on, while Anakin’s stay relatively clean throughout. And of course when Anakin said “power”, you can see his eyes changing colour, and the facial animation when Obi-Wan realizes he must do what he doesn’t want to. Also, those extra voice clips are from LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga really help sell just how high the stakes really are for these two; actually some of the better script changes in that game. Even though Obi-Wan emerged victorious, he lost everything.
It's a nice change the eyes thing but in the actual film Anakin had sith eyes from when he killed the youngling and the Jedi temple and the trade federation and he was crying prior to Padme and obiwan arriving on Mustafar. It's part of the reason why he couldn't be reasoned with once Obi-Wan came off the ship, he was already too far gone. Darth Vader had completely take over
We’ve all seen the Ewan McGregor Obi-Wan do this, his relationship with the character is different; but to see the animated Obi-Wan walk away from a screaming Anakin - God that tore me up. These are the same brothers who fought through the clone wars, and these are the faces we watched do it, it adds more heartbreak and emotion to an already emotional scene.
10:11 The way Obi wan looks really makes it clear that this was the most conflicting moment in his life. He had a code to live by and he promised to never kill anyone, but that day, he let his brother in arms burn alive. Im sure he looked back on it every day and wondered if he should have killed him and not let him suffer in extreme pain and agony.
But he also couldn’t kill Anakin out of genuine sentiment for this small boy who grew up to a conflicted young man… then to a dear friend and brother in arms…
This is incredible. It’s somehow more painful to watch these versions of the characters fight after seeing them together for so long. The animation is breathtaking!
I was just thinking that! I actually started to tear up to this version. Me and my fiancé are watching the clones wars. Trying to push through the mid episodes and get to the great ones. Just to have her rewatch episode 3.
Two things: 1. Using the scene where Anakin and Obi-Wan talk about Ahsoka leaving as the framing device for this duel at the beginning was brilliant. 2. I was expecting you to just reanimate the battle, not Vader's transformation also. That's awesome! Hats off to you, my friend! Amazing work!
@@YarpenZ64 It was one of the episodes they never finished for the last season of the Clone Wars. Anakin vented to Obi-Wan about Ahsoka leaving the Jedi Order at the end of season 5. To me it sounded very clearly like the original ROTS audio. Hayden's return as Anakin in Ahsoka sounds a lot closer to Matt Lanter than his original portrayal, but this sounds distinctly Hayden and Ewan to me. I think James Arnold Taylor sounds more like Ewan than Matt Lanter does to Hayden, but I can definitely hear two different sets of actors between the intro scene and everything that followed
The attention to detail of the animators and artists is actually really gorgeous the more you look. Knowing this is pure passion is insane and it shows in the work. Absolute applauds

@@jairneto7665 That's why it's weaker. It makes Sidious more of a two-dimensional, mustache-twirling "bad guy," for the exact reason that you cite. But giving even the Big Bad a humanizing quality, as the original version did by allowing Sidious a note of concern in his voice over Anakin, and then his offering the Kenobi-like healing touch to Anakin when he goes down to him, complicates the otherwise overly simplistic good/bad distinction and makes him just a tad more realistic.
Holy crap! The attention to details is just crazy. We have Nick Gillards choreography from deleted scenes from Ep.3. Before Anakins final jump his eyes change from blue to yellow. We can see Obi-Wan has watery eyes when he says "you were my brother Anakin, I loved you". Anakin says "Padme help me", that is such a great touch. The frickin' water on clone armour? Bruh that's just next level of animation. Overall, phenomenal job!
This is the definition of *perfect*. The subtle improvements to the real-life version, the fluidity of the lightsabers, the facial expressions, everything
I like how you also kept Anakin's fight style and tricks like slipping his Saber through Obi Wan's arms with the force 3:25 Now THAT shows love for Star Wars
As a fellow animator I can tell how much work and time can go into even the smallest of details. What really stuck out to me was at 12:40, when Vader takes his first inhale, then as he exhales, the smoke above his ventilator gets pushed up with the breath. The time it takes to push that smoke, something so small yet makes it so much more realistic, just strikes me as little details that only come with passion for the project. Well done!!
That was one of George's original touches in the last days of post on ROTS. He watched the shot for the first time and in a heartbeat asked for the smoke to move. His eye was so precise.
10:18 I love Obi-Wan's expressions here. He seems so lost, as if he's thinking "is this really happening?" It also kind of explains why he didn't finish Anakin off. He's almost in a daze as he walks off.

12:45 the fact that you even animated vaders first breath actually moving the smoke just like the movie is amazing! I was wondering if you’d put in small details like this that weren’t even obvious in revenge of the sith itself. This whole sequence genuinely hit different seeing it in CW style. Seeing the “Anakin and Obi-Wan” that we’ve known specifically for 7 seasons just added a new weight. Even the extra animated expressions just hit hard. Also amazing how you added in stuff like the Utapau scene, the aftermath for both of them, and even creating brand new sequences and dialogue during the movies cutaways. An easy 12/10 production.
The choreography, the inclusion of the deleted scene and the rapid change to Anakin’s face as he falls deeper to the darkside added such dread to their fight was truely a treat, Thank you guys for creating such an amazing animation that stays true to the clone wars. On a side note: I wish the Vader's NOOOO! scene was there just for fun. However, palpatine retriving Anakin on mustafar, witnessing the birth of darth vader in animated form and the construction of the death star was more than enough for me.

You can tell that Obi-Wan is really trying very hard not to attack all that much in the fight; he REALLY doesn't want to kill Anakin, but it's at that moment that he realizes it's inevitable.

Anakin looks up to find his master above him, and realizes he will always be above him. He literally and figuratively will never be able to reach or rise to his masters level. And he is left with defeat, despair, and pain.
Best star wars fan animation I’ve ever seen. The campfire scene, the additional dialogue, the iconic moves mixed with their own, the facial expressions, the lighting, the music and the attention to detail. Vader’s eyes barely visible through his lenses. They even added the “padme help me” when his mask is put on. Absolute perfection

Let's go!
The fact that this looks almost like a “Clone Wars” episode, is insane.
It's better than TCW in many ways
It looks like any Clone Wars episode from Season 1 to Season 5. Which is pretty amazing considering a single person made this.
@@TheBigExclusive I would say this is Season 5 tier animation, which is definitely impressive for being a one man animation project.
It looked close enough for me that it wasn’t even distinct but that’s likely my untrained eyes
Clone wars but it makes sense
Keep in mind this was animated by one person.
The actual movie had several hundred artists working on this same sequence. The fact that one person could do all of this and make it look as good as Revenge of the Sith is incredible to me.
He is the chosen one.
He Is The Will Of The Force ♥️
He’s as talented as the rest of the artists are
well he did just use real footage and keyframe the actors out
clearly you need your eyes checked if you cant tell the diff between CG and Live Action.
They didn't have to give us more than the fight scene, but they gave us that plus the prologue and epilogue fully animated. THAT is dedication.
Almost perfect, still a 10/10. If you included the part where Vader is asking about Padame it would have been, because in that scene vader realizes the consequences of his actions that he can never reverse. And he realizes he has lost not only his lover, but EVRYTHING

Genuis stroke to leave Sidious silent when finding Anakin on the shore, his silent appraisal of Anakins failure is scary as hell.

The addition of Anakin looking up with first hope and then with disappointment when Sidious comes to "rescue" him, like there was some part of him that still hoped it would be Obi-Wan, was a great choice!
the dissapoint, ent came from the fact that he let down his new master. not the absence of obi. or at .east is how i interpret it
same he looked defeated and ashamed@@Gemoroda
This literally feels like a genuine ‘Tales of the Empire’ episode
It hurts so much more to see the clone wars anakin turning to the dark side than the prequel anakin because you had so much more time to get to love him in clone wars

This was INCREDIBLE. The first scene referencing Ahsoka makes everything feel much more connected
Although it doesn't make much sense. Ashoka never failed Anakin and in TCW Anakin never said or believed it. Even quiet the opposite: He understood Ashokas decision to not rejoin the Jedi Order that let her down. He even gifted Ashoka new Lightsabers when they saw each other the last time before Order 66.

Obi-wan was getting massively overwhelmed and couldn't fight 1 on 1 any further or he'd be cut. He could never out dual Anakin
@Zollbeamter-ot7pt

Anakin's eyes going from blue to sith yellow when he said "power" at 9:02 was absolutely perfect

Another is some of Ewan McGregor's voice lines in for his talk about democracy and after he defeats Anakin, which is amazing, although i feel like some of hayden christensen's voice lines could have been used such as the "I HATE YOU". And the last hidden detail i found is Anakin's eyes turning yellow when he says "you underestimate my power", it's suttle and it's an amazing detail that shows he is fully planning on killing Obi Wan
These guys should get a personal letter from George Lucas himself, this is so well made!
What made this S-Tier for me was the conflicted look of angst and despair conveyed through Obi-Wan’s eyes and face. It’s tough to animate. 😭❤🤙

@@CloneCommanderCrater1102agreed
@@CloneCommanderCrater1102 Hayden's "I hate you!" is much better, yeah.
Proof that my desire for Disney to remake episodes 1-6 in clone wars style is genius. Each movie episode could be one or even more seasons.
it would be amazing, but they'll never do it cause they only do shitty ideas since episode seven bro. . .

That’s the dark side taking over
That's form 5 for you... pure power

This is how the movie should have been!
It broke my heart to see CW Anakin mangled and burning with sith eyes :(
Animated Padme felt different too
felt that, was rewinding clips over n over n over
Absolutely incredible. The best part for me was 3:25, the homage to the deleted footage of Anakin vs Dooku where Dooku tried to cut off Anakin’s hands and Anakin briefly lets go of his saber to avoid it.
I don't know the deleted footage and was already surprised why I didn't remember this move :D now I know the reason
Had to slow the video down to .25 to really take that in
It’s not deleted that I’ve is still in the original
Not only does he let it go, but he also uses the force to keep it in place, in order to grab it again. Masterful use of sound to imply action
I didn't even know there was a deleted scene where he did that.
I love how Anakin's voice is as deep as his voice from the Clone Wars series. Top notch 👌🏼
The emotion you see on Obiwans face when he says don’t try it is done so well
"He's going to jump and i'll have to..please don't do it"
His eyes says it all.
It was either that or let himself get Ben Kenobi'd.... Wait.
Darth Vader had completely take over
Agreed his eyes were already Yellow sinister looking.
Which were the extra clips?

We’ve all seen the Ewan McGregor Obi-Wan do this, his relationship with the character is different; but to see the animated Obi-Wan walk away from a screaming Anakin - God that tore me up. These are the same brothers who fought through the clone wars, and these are the faces we watched do it, it adds more heartbreak and emotion to an already emotional scene.
Utterly tragic.
Yes that’s what I was looking forward to, it’s even more tragic they were truly brothers
the tears in obiwans eyes as ani screams "i hate you"!!😢😢😢
I waited 4 years for this master piece. This is beyond phenomenal for such a small team.
Phenomenal in all regards,no caveats
Goddamn, the subtleties you put into Obi Wan's facial reactions is just heartbreaking. Astonishing work!
Yeah the bit where he looks away in horror as Vader is burning, is fabulous.
@@shugaroonyor when he’s says “don’t try it” knowing he’s won basically pleading for him not try it
10:11 The way Obi wan looks really makes it clear that this was the most conflicting moment in his life.
I'm glad I wasn't the only one feeling that, this made me cry harder than the original version did.
Amen@Repent-and-believe-in-Jesus1
I was just thinking that! I actually started to tear up to this version. Me and my fiancé are watching the clones wars. Trying to push through the mid episodes and get to the great ones. Just to have her rewatch episode 3.
Two things:
1. Using the scene where Anakin and Obi-Wan talk about Ahsoka leaving as the framing device for this duel at the beginning was brilliant.
2. I was expecting you to just reanimate the battle, not Vader's transformation also. That's awesome!
Hats off to you, my friend! Amazing work!
was the scene of them talking about ahsoka some where in clone wars or did they just make it for better context?
@@YarpenZ64It was a deleted scene from the Clone Wars

It’s from the unfinished Utapau arc which can be found on TH-cam
I love how the voices aren't definitively either the Clone Wars voices or the film ones. It really shows how well they can work together.
Obi-Wan's is ambiguous but Anakin is pretty clearly Matt Lanter when he's not screaming.
Some voice clips are from skywalker saga (lego game)
The attention to detail of the animators and artists is actually really gorgeous the more you look. Knowing this is pure passion is insane and it shows in the work. Absolute applauds
11:23 I absolutely love how palpatine was portrayed! Instead of him feeling relieved his apprentice is alive like in the live action, he looks extremely disappointed that Lord Vader lost, which is such an amazing touch!!! 🥰
See, the original was better, in this regard, because it was more morally complex. This is too one-dimensional.
@@jetuber Agreed.
Yeah, I feel like that fits with Palpatines character more.
I disagree, this shows how much Sidious didn't care about Anakin, And it also shows that Sidious only saw Anakin as a puppet. @@jetuber

Well done!!
Cómo en la película
Definitely agree noticed that at 12:40 aswell
That was one of George's original touches in the last days of post on ROTS. He watched the shot for the first time and in a heartbeat asked for the smoke to move. His eye was so precise.
