What a silly woman..."Where's the zookeeper! They could spray 'em or something". Just let them alone to live their lives and solve their own issues. Bad enough, they're caged so you can stare at them.... they also have to conform to your expectations? Stupid people!

I volunteer at this zoo frequently. It is one of the top rated zoos in the world. Everyone saying that this is awful and that we need to abolish zoos don't know what they're talking about. This particular zoo (Omaha Henry Doorly Zoo) is involved in countless conservation projects. Also, neither of the gorillas got severely injured and this is not an everyday event. It is perfectly fine for these two gorillas to live together.

It can't work differently with Gorillas either, there is a conflict, there is a dispute between father and son, and when the time comes, the son or daughter leaves their family, looks for a partner, builds their life together, founds a family, and raises their cubs and offspring . Their descendants will do the same.

this area is only a small portion of their enclosure. If they weren't interested in seeing the 'hoomans' or being seen by them, there are other places they can go to get away. Todays zoos build enclosures first for the needs of the animals but they do have to have an area where the visitors can see the animals...or who would come ? Zoos are important places where we can learn a lot about the animals, breed them so that we always have them ...so that if the wild population is decimated for whatever reason...we have the ability to fix the problem and bring them back. For example....they have done that with a species of tree frog that was decimated after a dam was built in order to help the human population in the area. The authorities, after realizing what had happened..... made adjustments to an area to create a proper environment for the frogs.....and because there was a zoo in the united states that had some of these frogs...they upped their breeding program and were able to reintroduce them. This is a very abbreviated part of the story, but a real success story and small example of why zoos are important. How can anyone care very much about something they know nothing about or have no experience with ? Zoos introduce people to animals they would never see or learn about otherwise and creates an interest and a reason to "care" ! They are a far cry from the depressing places of iron bars and cement floors of a century ago.

There is another video of these two boys “fighting”. In the comment section someone said they asked the zookeepers about these two fella’s and the zookeepers explained they are brothers and they always fight like this. Neither of them ever get hurt. They would be a lot more aggressive if they were defending their family from danger or if they really were challenging each other but in the case of these two brothers it’s not that serious. The person said they went back a year or two later and sure enough the brothers were at it again lol.

I think zoo should implement a glass like that in the car which visitors could see the animals inside but not the other way around. In that case the animals won’t be disturbed and they could do their thing as if no one are watching them. It’s good because we could see their natural behaviors not when they’re not comfortable seeing humans watching them.
