Dude, guy at 10:30 was LUCKY. He didn’t even know the cougar was there and I’m sure it was just hiding from him as it was kinda lost and scared in Suburbia but that was also very much and hunting posture. And cougars are tenacious little killing machines, have y’all seen all the videos on TH-cam of people doing the whole “get big and get loud” thing at a cougar that’s stalking them and then the cougar just takes one slow motion step forward after another like “You mean don’t come any closer, like THIS lunch!” Geez.
I was watching the clip with the dogs going crazy about something, human came out, dogs rushed home, human saw black bear, managed to scare it away. I laughed, "Dogs are useless -- get the cat!" and... the next clip was of the hiding mountain lion who looked somewhat young to take on a bear, but still would have chased away the bear better than yappy dogs... 😄
The scary thing is cougars can mimic a baby/child's cry to lure people into the woods to go looking for the kid and then boom lunch
I believe large mountain cats are responsible for hundreds of missing persons reported in national parks every year.
