It was a day for Shabani!
After breakfast, he was playing nicely with his son Kiyomasa.
But then Kiyomasa was alone with Nene and followed Ai around.
When Shabani saw Kiyomasa messing with Nene, he rushed toward Kiyomasa, beating chest.
He then lunged at Nene as well, slapping her on the back.
He seemed to have made everyone realize who the boss of this herd is.
Shabani was very cool on this day!
Later, Nene's screams could be heard in the distance. Perhaps Annie had messed with her.

Agreed, they need more space and a more natural environment. Not sure if they can see people watching them, but if so, that should probably be hidden from view as well.

It will always pain me seeing such intelligent caring Mammals living in a TOTALLY UNNATURAL ENVIRONMENT getting no where near adequate mental daily stimulation REALIZING they are imprisoned for life by the crowds laughing at them, none of this is NORMAL.
they are endangered they need this to survive
always somebody showing fake sympathy without even knowing the animal's situations, release them into the wild and see how fast they go extinct
I'M saying HUMANS are so VICIOUS, MURDEROUS and DESTRUCTIVE that it's DEPRESSING seeing them in their ONLY OPTION to stay alive, a PRISON WE CREATED, animals ROCK and PEOPLE SUCK at SAVING THEM, hence ONE SAD DEAD ORCA.
In the wild, they're in constant threat of habitat loss and poaching. In a perfect world, yes, they would be better off in the wild......but we don't live in one, do we? Far from it.
Not so much gorillas but most great apes you see in zoos and stuff are rescued from the pet trade. I feel ya but there needs to be places animals that can't survive in the wild can go and international breeding programs are essential for species to fight against extinction

Shabani is a fantastic troop leader, he constantly watches over his troop, he plays so much with his son but at the same time I believe he’s teaching him to be a good father and leader of his own troop one day, personally I think he was telling his son off because he’s aware of the things he’s doing with his mother, he’s letting it happen because he doesn’t want nene anymore for himself, but at the same time he doesn’t want them flaunting themselves in front of the troop. My thoughts on the situation.
This actually makes a little sense but i think all the females look to kiyomasa as the alpha now.

Shabini’s troop interacts more than any I have ever watched. I love it, never a dull moment.
i love animals allways watched lions and big cats on you tube. but now for some reason gorillas a few weeks ago started popping up on my you tube. ive been amazed how human like they are. i love these videos. there not scarey at all so lovely too watch them.
I'm genuinely surprised at how patient Shabani was being, giving subtle signs of "okay, i'll play with you but you better behave." When K smacked at his chest, you could see S's thoughts like, "well shit. here we go." And he steps out of the window and sits down like... let's what happens now. S absolutely knew K was going to test him, but he kept calm through the whole thing At one point it even looked like Shabani knew K was about to act up and shook his head no in warning.

Fair point, but it’s not as if gorillas spend 24 hours a day frolicking in the jungle and chasing each other around swinging on vines. Put a camera in the jungle all day long and I’m sure 70% of it is gorillas lounging.

They really need a better environment. I watched them for a little bit. They really need more room.
That's all they know. They were all born in the zoo. There home is larger then other zoos. The wild gorillas do have tourists staring at them for a high price.

Kiyo needs to go. He’s getting mad at Nene if she doesn’t mate with him. Shabani might’ve smelled Kiyo on Nene…in a certain area & now is watching closely. They could put Kiyo in with Monta who is a bachelor silverback till he/they each get a family. Just something! Also does anyone else think that it looks like Ai is avoiding Kiyo now?

Male gorillas are said to lead their troops between the ages of 10 and 15.
Omg when Shabani finds out hes mating with all 3 female Kiyo wont be getting playtime with daddy he definitely needs a bachelor's group until they find another troop for Kiyo. Im hoping due to the incest Japan's zoo is giving them birth control.

I dunno ... the whole thing seems kind of sad to me ... they're basically in prison and wasting away. I'm not saying that they're sentient but just put them back in their natural habitat and if someone is curious about gorillas, then go to them as opposed to keeping them in prison so that people can get their jollies.

I’ve been watching a lot of videos of Gorillaz at different zoos around the world, and I have to say this has got to be the worst enclosure for them I’ve ever seen! it just seems so cold and nothing like a natural habitat. The inside enclosure reminds me of a penitentiary.
How sad the video seemed like a series of scenes from a prison movie. Countless hours of boredom on the concrete steps. Take them back home....

These gorillas are supposed to be around trees and leaves! but instead they have them and a Concrete cells for are amusement needs.
They don't seem to have much space to move around which is a bit sad. Though better than laboratory animals I guess.
