I'm almost certain 'Man of the Hour' is a function of the ratio of the number of generals you have compared to the number of settlements you own, which in turn is a function of birth rate of family members that is tied to how quickly or slowly you're expanding. You haven't looked at your family tree for ages, but given you have family members coming of age regularly, combined with the fact you've bribed a few Brutii generals recently, I"d say a MOTH is pretty unlikely for the time being. You probably bit off more than you could chew with the extended first sally battle at Thermon, the exchange of javelins didn't gain you much, as they had a slight hill advantage. Taking out the onagers and using all your archer and slinger ammo was enough of a victory. Nonetheless you made it all worthwhile at the (third?) battle of Thermon. You didn't even lose a general - colour me impressed! See, that also changes your MOTH odds, haha. I'll be intrigued to see where and when Egypt attack you, they obviously have hostile intentions. Might be worth investing in some spies, as per the other comments.
Yeah, at this point MOTH is very unlikely. I have a ton of random generals hanging out in strange places. This Greece conflict feels like it’s going on forever but we’ve actually slaughtered a huge amount of Romans recently. We must be approaching the point where the Brutii are left with only small cities that can’t train proper heavy troops. It’ll be really interesting to fight other factions like the Germans and Egyptians once the Brutii are out of the game because I’m so used to the insane strength of Brutii infantry. It’s crazy I’ve been fighting them since part 8 in this series. The Brutii have been such a thorn in my side. Next part I’ll get spies to head up to Germany, into Thrace, and into Egypt so we can learn a bit more about the future of this campaign.
