Congratulation to you! You’ve inspired me on my own path in law school at the age of 57. I just finished my first semester (1L). The path is not easy, but it will be done.
I found your channel a few weeks ago while looking up going back to school videos, and listened to your story while going to work. I actually just listened to your most recent one today and its such a coincidence to see this video. This seems like another push for me to make the leap, (I still need my undergrad degree though lol), thank you so much for these videos and God bless you and keep succeeding!🎉
@@Kwixotica not sure where you are in your process of getting the undergrad but if you still have any basic courses you need, I highly recommend using something like Straighterline.com to do those basic courses. You can knock them out fast, inexpensively and then transfer those credits to the university where you want to attend. You can do this. time will pass whether you do or not.
Yesss, when the TH-cam algorithm works, tired of being recommended BS. Congratulations on finishing law school!! Wishing you much success on your new journey!
Congratulations! It's funny that you were posting this at the precise time I was looking for info on non-traditional law students. (I got here from your "Ask Me" video about being a non-traditional law student) Maybe I should take it as a sign. 😅 Awesome, awesome job, and remember to take some time to relax!
I'm so glad you found me. There are several videos here that you may find helpful. I tried to sort of take folks along with me on the journey. My advice is always to go for it! It's never too late to start law school.
congrats venessa, my question to you is your honest opinion on about the law school you attended ? I see the rankings are low but was that reflected in the quality of education you received? i am considering applying because of the opportunity to begin the fall of 2025 as opposed to fall 2026
@@florencelewis3614 in my opinion, it matters more where you want to practice and what your ultimate goal is when choosing a school. If you want to clerk for a Supreme Court justice, then you need to look at the top 15 pools where most of those students are chosen from. In the state of Texas, my school has a high bar passage rate, and we are the number one most award winning school in trial advocacy competition nationwide. For whatever reason they don't use those statistics when determining rankings of schools. Bottom line for me is there is not another law school out there that has a better program for trial advocacy. If you want to be in a courtroom, then STCL is a great place to study. In general, Texas law schools are known for putting out great trial lawyers. University of Texas is a T 14 law school. So maybe there are more big law grads there? Not sure. I was told that Baylor law school has the most graduate sitting on the bench as judges in Texas. Those are the kinds of things that I would pay attention to when choosing a school. What state do you want to practice in… Go to school in that state. What are your career goals afterwards… Find a school best suits your goals in practice: All of that said, one of my best friends is a constitutional law attorney and has argued cases before the Supreme Court and she did not go to a special fancy law school. Once you get that law degree and pass the bar, that's when you prove yourself.
@@GiovannaMitchell-z7z it really has felt like it's flown by. It's surreal graduating a bit before the class I started with. I have one other classmate from my section who graduated early as well so that's been nice. Law school is the means to an end that is... practicing law. I just kept my eye on that prize!
Congratulations! 🍾 I can’t believe it!!! You look so amazing and confident 🩷 I’ve been following your videos and am so grateful you’ve brought us along the way with you! Thank you for making these videos and I hope you don’t stop 🍾🩷

I’m thinking of South Texas - can you do a video on the school (especially if you go part time)
