Just finished an In-the-hoop baby bib and used Kam Snaps for the first time. You are RIGHT! I used to work with leather and used those metal ones and they always went crooked for flat or just didn't attach together. These are a breeze to use and a lot of fun too! I can think of a bunch of my clothing that could use a snap or two. For instance, I work outside a lot (I'm retired), and when it's hot my sleeves drive me nuts. I could put some matching snaps on them so I can hold them up when I want! They're work shirts so who cares if it's fashionable. It IS practical! Thank you, Jen. I so love your videos. You present everything just like a good friend would explain it to you without all the goofy voice inflections and loud music (big plus!)
I'm with you on snap issues! I am going to buy this. Just the tip for using all those white snaps for anyone who buys a kit: I'm a papercrafter and alcohol markers or alcohol ink would be great for coloring them any colour you wish. Sharpies are alcohol-based and would also work. EDIT: I ordered the kit (prices are higher since this video) and it arrived today. I had 2 projects waiting for this. Thank you for your recommendation! I am impressed and hope they don't disappoint over time.
@@SewingReport Yes, I understand that =) I plan on making a few pads to sell in the future and have an arthritis in my hands, so it will make it so much easier for me.
they come in great colors different engravings animals, flowers, cows and cowboy boots. Kam company is great to work with and you can buy them at some craft stores(Joann's) along with PUL (Polyurethane Laminate) Fabrics That match fabric design to snaps. Use a % off coupon on their flyers or print from online store, make sure it says store coupon or online coupon they have more fabrics online and online sales.
I like you discovered them after so many attempts with the metal ones that drove me crazy. Not only are they easy but they look more finished because they have that cap on both sides, Don't need any Fray Check it is nothing but glue you ca use a drop of any glue. I don't put any at all.
Brilliant, thanks Jennifer for the tip. I feel your pain with snaps...the ones I have are a pain! I'm going to try Kam Snaps...hope they are sold in Europe!
Good morning. Can you please tell me how to apply size 20 long snaps? I use the kam snaps all the time but the size 20 long dont set quite right. Thanks in advance, Love your new subject content,
do they make on you can use for metal snaps, rivets etc. I have the large desktop press, but would like something a tad easier and smaller if they have one. thanks! I'll probably go to amazon and get one of these
Oh, I see, there are 3 different sizes....though no really small ones...that's too bad...I love replacing the fiddly, tiny buckles on sandals and pumps with snaps - but even the T3 ones are going to be too big for that. Still...a great tip!
+Rara Avis That's a great idea for buckles! I have size 20 - there are smaller ones but I haven't tried them yet. Whenever I have a garment/bag that calls for snaps or buttons - I'm totally using these instead!
Be careful of your hands if you use these a lot. I've made over 200 items with these and my hands are now injured. For light use these are GREAT but for professional use I would invest in KAM Snaps brand professional table top snap press. Save your hands from injury. ♥
Wow, I can't believe how cheap these are! I just paid 6.99€ for 10 (no kidding) 8mm Prym metall snaps. And besides, metall snaps are often quite heavy and bulky. I had a quick look on ebay and they're available in Germany, but only, it seems, in one size.
Check Amazon. I bought mine from them it came with 150 coloured snaps in one size, but the Kam Snap itself had the fittings for either 3 or 4 sizes, the same as Jennifer's but coloured snaps. Beware, there can be quite a difference in price, but they all look the same. Mine is the proper Kam and the price was cheaper than some claiming to be Kam! I think I paid just under £15. Just look at them all!
@@SewingReport Good news! After watching a couple tutorials I went back and tried again and it works! I think I was not holding my pliers straight enough or using enough pressure. So now that I figured that out I love them! Thanks for your tutorial!!

I just got a set of Kam snaps and love them for wallets and pockets in purses. I love all the color choices.
They are great, aren't they? I would love to get other colors besides white.
I love KAM snaps and the KamSnaps customer service is excellent. I just ordered the pro setter to make cloth pads. Thanks for the review. Great video.
I've eyed up the pro setter... but probably don't do enough snaps to justify buying it. Thank you!!

I am still using manually SEW the snaps because I was afraid! But now, I will change for these one!! Thanks!!
Awesome!!! This one has been the easiest for me to use!

Hi
Did you consider tutorial on long size 20 kam snaps and application?

+M Gilbert So far so good for me!!!
Good morning.

If you go to their site, you can get a card with all the snap colors, which are many, and the have fun designs and shapes (stars, etc.) Love these!
Glad you're also a fan!!! By far, these are the easiest snaps I've installed!
Sounds like what i need for when i make these tiny dolls clothes, do they make tiny ones , the doll is only 12" long
You can also get them for thicker fabrics which I really like. That's what sold me on them
I am definitely a Kam Snaps convert!!!
Hi,
Where can you purchase longer size 20 kam snaps
hello, what size did you used for doll clothes THANKS
I'm addicted to the snap sound I love snaps
+WinMichele4 It is so satisfying!!!
Can you do a video on your favorite grommet setting tool? I cant seem to find a good one. Btw, love your videos!
That's a great idea! I haven't really tried setting grommets yet - I will look into it for a future video! Thank you!

They make other models that can do metal / rivets but this version only does plastic snaps.
you can get long shank snaps and double end shank too
Thank you!
Great video!

Thanks for this review. I went crazy this morning trying to install metal snaps. I'm making baby bibs and this is going to be so much better.
This is a snap setter that has actually worked for me and it's reasonably priced!
Will these bad boys melt if I run the iron over them?
It's possible - you probably want to test that out. When ironing, I typically press around the KAM snaps and don't run over them.
@@SewingReport of course, what am I thinking
Oh handy!
I am soooo happy I got this thing!
Would this work on crocheted items please.
Not sure I'd recommend KAM for crocheted items, particularly if the gaps between stitches are large. These seem to be meant for fabric.
Thank you Jennifer.
I must be the only person who cannot get these things to work. Mine keep coming out no matter how hard I press.
Oh no!!! I like these because, for me, I couldn't get other types to work! Wonder if you may have a defective unit?
